Nokia :: N97 Can't Connect To Internet / Unless Connect Via Wireless LAN
Jan 21, 2010I've bought a N97 mini and I'm very happy with it.However in the past week until now, I can't connect to the internet unless i connect via wireless lan.With GPRS i can't.I open the browser, it shows me on the top left corner the phone is trying to make a connection and then hangs up after 3seconds.
1 - I've check the definitions with my service provider
2 - I have tha latest firmware
3 - I have made a hard reset..

Apr 20, 2010I have a brand new E72. I have set up some email accounts and installed some application which has automatic update abilities. I found that it consume quite a lot battery when I enable auto update, usually I need to recharge my phone every 2 days. Therefore, I turned off all automatic update includes sync of email. The problem is that my phone still keeps on asking me 'Select Connection' if I want to connect using Wifi, WAP or Internet. First of all, I do not know which app requires the connection. This is definitely a UI improvement! How can I know which app requires the connection! I have set up MS Exchange, Gmail and a POP3 accounts.The problem is that my phone keeps on asking me 'Select Connection' if I want to connect using Wifi, WAP or Internet. First of all, I do not know which app requires the connection. This is definitely a UI improvement! How can I know which app requires the connection!Let's assume it is my mails accounts which try to connect (I have played with the Control Panel / App Manager). The issue is I cannot find how to tell my mail accounts I want to force the connections to Vodafone Internet 'Contract Internet'.
It seems that I can only select the connection point for my first email account and not for the remaining ones.. Is that correct? That's a bug.
Nokia :: E71 Impossible To Connect To PC
Feb 18, 2010I have a nokia E71, it's impossible to connect it to a PC. The PC just don't recognize ANYTHING when I plug into the usb port.The computer is good, the cable is good, nokia pc suite is good. Everything is good, unless the phone.I think it's a hardware failure of the phone. Do you have any ideas?

Feb 18, 2010Requesting some assistance with using VNC viewer on N900.I've downloaded the viewer onto the phone and i also installed the vnc server on my vista 32-bit pc. I knew that NAT was going to be a problem because i'm unable to connect.i've traweled through some forums on how to get past this and one of the obvious options was to put my pc in the DMZ. Naturally when you do this, the vnc server can talk to test vnc page ok. fine. I still couldn't run vnc viewer from my phone to connect to my pc at home.Another option was to run vnc in user mode, which i also did but typing in the IP address (both internal and external) it still will not connect.

Jul 14, 2010Everytime I open the gps ovi map, everything is fine. But this only for the first time open, if i close the navigation, and few seconds go in later, i can't get connect to the satellites. In "gps data", the status is no connection and no satellite status. "Option" in "gps data" should be in this following sequense - "open"-"satellites status"-"settings"-"positioning settings"-"help"-"exit". But my "satellites status" is missing at this time. no matter in and out the "gps data", and how many minutes i wait for it, the "satellites status" still missing. things only get back normal if i restart the phone. That means, i only can use the gps one times only, if i exits and access again, it is not working, and i need to restart the phone. I have try to change the selection in position method. it is not working.

Mar 1, 2010I am using a Nokia 3100 which is a very old model, but it is functioning well. Recently I bought a CA-42 cable to connect it to PC, because I think I need to make data back up for it. However, it doesn't work.I have installed the latest Nokia PC Suite (version 7.1.40) and my OS is Window XP SP3.When I connect the 3100 with the CA-42 cable to the PC,
- it shows that "Found new hardware" and asks me to install the drivers;
- I choose "install automatically" but it never find the drivers;
- then it alerts that "Some problem occurred while installing the new HW, so that it may not work properly." Afterwards it turns out that Nokia PC Suite cannot find my phone.
I have tried to connect an ear phone to my 3100, and it works--so the socket should be functioning on the phone;Also the CA-42 cable is brand new, and I assume that it is not a broken one.Then what could be the problem? Has something similar happened to some of your phones?

Jul 25, 2010I paired my bh-905 headphones with my iPhone 4 and then with my PC as the second paired device. To do this I turned off the iPhone, held the multifunction button on the phone down until the phones entered discovery mode (blinking blue light), and then they are seen at the PC, no problem. Both ways they work well with great sound, and with the iPhone calls ring in and the music continues when done with the call. I usually use them at work, connected to the iPhone, but sometimes at home I want to use them with the PC. To connect to the PC, I first turn off the iPhone bluetooth, but then I can't get the phones to connect to the PC again unless I remove their bluetooth entry from the PC and re-pair as a new device. It's a small quibble, but other bluetooth sets I own will find the other active devices to which they're paired.Is there a procedue to switch the blutetooth connection from one already paired device to another without re-pairing the phones each time?

Mar 22, 2010When in college I connect to an open wifi network via a proxy. I then must use the web browser to validate a username and password to browse. This all works no problem if I want to view websites, however if i want to use the OVI store or Fring I must close the web browser so that they can connect and thus lose my validation settings-is there any way around this?
Again the network itself is open with no encryption, the log on is via web browser.
I'm also having 'No Gateway Reply' error when using an open ad-hoc network at home, but that's another problem for another post!
