Nov 10, 2012I've tried to connect to both w7 and w8, in the case of w7 the drivers install and the icon for the windows phone is visible under My Computer, but any attempt to interact with it produces an error. On w8 the new Windows Phone app downloads when the phone is first plugged in, but the software never reconizes the handset, it just gives a "your phone is notplaying nice error".

Sep 28, 2012Whenever I try to connect my Lumia 900 to Zune for this latest upgrade, it tells me the connection fails and tells me to reboot my phone and try again. Rebooting and trying again does not help.I had this same problem with the previous upgrade. Back then I succeeded in upgrading after I deleted certificates and Forgot the phone on Zune. (The only other time that Zune connected to my phone successfully was when I first installed it.) This time I've deleted the certificates but cannot forget the phone because it doesn't connect.
I asked my two friends who have Lumias if I may try connecting to their computers (I received advice to try on another computer on this board). Both said they don't use Zune because it never works for them. I tried on one of their computers nevertheless, but of course it didn't work.
Does this mean I will never get an upgrade ever again? If so, how do I stop my phone from telling me every two days that I have an upgrade available and should connect to Zune to run it? tell me I'll have to hard reset my phone to connect it with the application that I'm supposed to use for backing up my data.

Nov 21, 2012I'm sharing my internet connection from my Macbook pro, and have been connecting with my old Lumia 800 without problems. Today I took the plunge and bought a 920. On my way home, I connected via wifi to McDonalds without any problems. When I arrived home I tried to connect to my Macbook using the correct password, and the 920 gave me a "wrong password" message.I then changed the password on the Macbook to a 40 bit WEP code - still no joy. I've tried rebooting both the Mac and the 920, switching channels on the Mac wifi channel and am now getting peeved, as my old 800 still connects without fail.Occasionally I get the "wrong password" message, other times I get "Unable to join".

Jun 23, 2012There are things on the 800 I like, others infuriating. This thread I can't connect my Nokia BH105 earpiece to Lumia 800. Worked perfectly and automatic connection to my X6 once paired.
Won't connect, in pairing mode phone doesn't ask for passcode...unless I'm missing something...I think I have had it connected once. Bluetooth sees the earpiece, says connecting if I select but doesnt.
Also, if battery life is an issue, why doesn't the info bar at the top indicate Bluetooth is on, not just indicate when a headset is connected?

I've tried 2 SIMs and a couple of different wifi networks, but all give this error. This happens both when using the windows phone wizard for Gmail, or by trying to set it up as an outlook exchange server. I can connect to Gmail using it's POP servers, but that sucks as I would like to have push email and have my Google contacts and calendars synced!

May 25, 2012I can't send SMS with the famous "Can't send, try again" message popping up 10 minutes later. Extremely annoying, especially considering that I am able to receive messages, no problem. As soon as I switch the data connection off - the problem disappears. SMS Centre number is fine. I read somewhere that it might be due to linked contacts having different values of "mobile number" in different profiles. That was the case, but nothing changed even after I deleted the mobile numbers in all but one profile in the linked group.I love my white lumia, but this really makes me want to throw it against a wall. I have downloaded an SSL certificate copied from old windows mobile device (so i know the certificate is good). Yesterday i went home and activated blutooth on the phone.It showed message of the features it found and seems to connect (radio showed the connect icon) but then just did a reset and reboot.I tried several times. Every time after/while pairing with the radio the lumia just reboots itself.

I have tried everything I can think of. I am using a Linksys WAG160N modem router running WEP encryption.
I know the WEP key (because I made it) so I know it is correct, but the phone always says that the password is incorrect.

Nov 20, 2012I am trying to deploy some code to two Windows Phone 8 devices from Windows 8.Unfortunatey, the 920 and 820 are both not causing me some amount of trouble.When I plug the devices in it recognises them as Windows Phones and I can explore the files on the devices but when I press deploy on my code it says no Windows Phone 8 device detected. When looking in device manager there is two versions of the Nokia device I am using and an exclamation mark, update the drivers says "drivers not found online" and uninstalling the drivers just removes them but then after a restart the two versions both with exclamation marks pops up again.

May 17, 2015My Nokia Lumia 1020 will NOT connect to my surface pro 2. I have looked high and low on the internet for a solution. The problem in my opinion lies in the detection and installation of the drivers to the SP2. It plugs in and charges but the computer doesn't detect that there has been anything plugged in. Nothing shows up in file explorer or device manager. But my old Lumia 920 was recognized. Here are a few of the different solutions that I have tried and have fail to fix my problem.
Soft reset when plugged in to install the missing drivers (failed)
Switching different cords to make sure I was using a data cable (failed)
Tried plugging it into multiple different PC's and even a mac (failed)
The stupid phone will not show up anywhere! I am running Windows 10 mobile but I have had this problem in 8.1 for over a year since I bought the phone. This even happened with my first Lumia 1020 I owned when the phone first came out! (Which shattered)
I think the root of the problem lies in the hardware of the phone itself. My guess is the USB port is damaged so it doesn't fully read or something along those lines. It takes a good 5 hour for a charge which seems long to me but I'm not sure.
