I am able to connect to my secure network at home as well as the AT&T hotspots; however, my 900 is does not connect to my work Wi-Fi network.. It lists the network, and I input the correct credentials, it thinks for a couple of seconds and then errors out with a message similar to - unable to connect to the network.

I am trying to deploy some code to two Windows Phone 8 devices from Windows 8.Unfortunatey, the 920 and 820 are both not causing me some amount of trouble.When I plug the devices in it recognises them as Windows Phones and I can explore the files on the devices but when I press deploy on my code it says no Windows Phone 8 device detected. When looking in device manager there is two versions of the Nokia device I am using and an exclamation mark, update the drivers says "drivers not found online" and uninstalling the drivers just removes them but then after a restart the two versions both with exclamation marks pops up again.

I'm trying to download my music but WP8 uses the Windows Phone App client in Windows 8. Wll, when I tried connecting my phone, it says "Your phone is having troubles" error message. The instruction says to power off the phone. But no luck. Tried searching MS community but nothing there (but I won't rule out I didn't search well. On w8 the new Windows Phone app downloads when the phone is first plugged in, but the software never reconizes the handset, it just gives a "your phone is notplaying nice error".

I have restarted both Phone and laptop several times. I did connect successfully to my HTC Radar. I don't even get the "Charging" symbol on my Lumia. I just got my Lumia 1520 handy but when I tried to connect it to the local Wifi hotspot (WPA2 encrypted), it times out saying "Connection unsuccessful - No response from the network". I searched the net for solutions and based on those, I restarted the Wifi Router, my Lumia 1520. Also I did a factory reset of the device.
But still, it is unable to connect to Wifi hot spot.I also tried connecting with another Wifi hotspot (WPA2), but nothing good happened. My other devices like Surface, Lumia 1020 are able to connect to the same hotspot without any issues. There is no restrictions on no. of Wifi connection as I am broadcasting the Wifi from my laptop (Windows 8.1 Update 1) as a virtual wifi hotspot.
I'm sharing my internet connection from my Macbook pro, and have been connecting with my old Lumia 800 without problems. Today I took the plunge and bought a 920. On my way home, I connected via wifi to McDonalds without any problems. When I arrived home I tried to connect to my Macbook using the correct password, and the 920 gave me a "wrong password" message.I then changed the password on the Macbook to a 40 bit WEP code - still no joy. I've tried rebooting both the Mac and the 920, switching channels on the Mac wifi channel and am now getting peeved, as my old 800 still connects without fail.Occasionally I get the "wrong password" message, other times I get "Unable to join".

I can connect without a problem. I mean the phone says it's connected to the network. But when I try to access a website there is only the error page. And after a minute or so the wifi connection drops out by itself. I saved the network, and there's no other destination in the settings/destinations menu. the phone is not connecting to it by itself. Is there a way to go back to Anna?

I've had this issue before with Windows Phones where I ordered an HTC Titan from AT&T and it wouldn't allow me to use Wifi Hotspots even though I have it enabled on my Rogers account.
Does anyone know or can test it the new Windows Phones have the same issue? I'm interested in ordering a Cyan Lumia 920 from USA and unlocking it, but don't want to do this if Wifi tethering is locked to AT&T.

For the most part, I like the 950 a lot. I did a hard reset to try to get the upgrade, no update. it fixed my music library problem though. That was nice.
I activated my insider on the phone. It showed the update. So I updated the phone. NICE!!!!!! I thought. My laptop, on wifi is about 30gb/sec download. My phone? about 500kbps/sec down.
I have a Lumia 710 (Rogers branded) with the latest updates. There appears to be no wifi hotspot options in the settings, I assume this has been disabled by Rogers.Is there anyway for me to get this enabled?

I can connect to the laptop but DHCP doesn't auto assign the laptop an IP address so it cannot access the internet. Tried manually configuring the settings of the wireless card in windows using the same address assigned when connected via USB but it still doesn't work.
It states that subnet mask isn't compatable with ip address.

Previously I used Windows Vista with my Sony Vaio Laptop without any issues. However Sony sent me some Windows 7 Upgrade Discs and of course I upgraded without looking into issues as I was sure that Nokia Software would be 7 Compatible, guessing i was wrong. Neither of the 2 applications can connect with my Phone since upgrading to Windows 7.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo my Nokia Lumia 1020 was upgraded to 8.1 via Preview for Developers a few months ago and Wi-Fi/Cellular data was fine. I updated to Lumia Denim at one time and for some reason, Wi-Fi did not work. I tried using the Windows Phone Recovery Tool 2.1.1 and Wi-Fi still did not work. Then I downgraded from Denim to Cyan, and Wi-Fi still didn't work. I tried the Windows Phone Recovery Tool (same version) again, and Wi-Fi did not work.
In addition, I tried adding my Wi-Fi as a hidden network. Still didn't work. By the way, my Wi-Fi is WPA2-PSK, and I have AES encryption.
