Nokia :: Classic Via PC Suite / USB Connection Hangs But Still Shows Connected
Apr 1, 2010
PC Suite initiated internet connection via USB. PC Suite provides 3 connection options to 3 UK same problem with all 3. Connection starts and works well. After a random period of time (1 second to several hours) all web pages hang. PC Suite "One Touch Access" shows as still connected. Windows 7 network monitor shows no network activity even when you try to refresh web pages. Solution is to press disconnect and then connect on the One Touch Access screen.
I installed connectivity cables and nokia pc suite, when I click on connect to phone in pc suite it comes up with usb not recognized and in screen box "unknown device".I have since found out via nokia forum that you now don't have to install connectivity cable driver as they are now in pc suite.Help appreciated. Also this is my first attempt at trying these installs so I may have gone wrong somewhere though I did follow all the instructions.
Just purchased 6303i classic. Downloaded Nokia Suite. Tried every way to sync contacts but no success. Error message code 80043ab4. 1 suggestion was to uninstal Nokia Suite completely and start again. Have done that twice but contacts will still not sync. Same error number. At one point I found Nokia PC Suite and that synced my contacts, but I understand PC Suite is being discontinued and Nokia Suite is best flavour?
I'm getting really frustrated trying to Install the Ovi Suite Installer 2.2.0.241 on my Thinkpad T400. I still have about 8G free, but the installer hangs at about 50%. I have tried to install numerous times, with and without restarting the machine., but get the same unsuccessful results. For now I have to do with the Nokia PC Suite which was successfully installed, but I really look forward to using the OVI.
I just purchased a Nokia N97 mini after having spent 5 years on Windows Mobile due to hardward and software issues. I hope I did not make another mistake by moving back to Symbian! Even when I cancel the installation, it still hangs.
I am trying to update my Nokia Maps on an e6 running Belle using Nokia Suite and it just gets stuck on the dialogue "connectting to the map service". is this down at the moment?
I used PC Suite (latest version) with a bluetooth connection between a Nokia 6310i and a Compaq nx8220 laptop computer. No problem at all. Than I bought a Nokia 6303 Classic and tried to connect to the laptop. The PC Suite software does not recognize the 6303. The same problem with OVI Suite, which works with the 6310i. The Nokia 6303 connects with my Nokia 610 Car Kit, without any problem. I re-installed the PC Suite Software without any result. When I replace the 6303 with the 6310i again, than it works OK.

I have an E72 and a PC running windows 7 professional.
I am completely unable to install OVI suite. The installation hangs every time. I have tried several times. Firstly from the installer that shipped with the phone (this just hung - no message), then from the most up to date version downloaded from the website. With this latter I get a message saying "an error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.MC,processorArchitecture="x86",publictoken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",version="8.0.50727.4053",type="win32". Please refer to help and support for more information
I have seen similar posts to this on the forum - most of which suggested uninstalling PC suite and then trying the install again. However, I have never had PC suite on this machine.
been facing this problem from the past few days...whenever I connect my Nokia 701 Belle FP1 to my PC using Mass Storage, it hangs and I have to remove and insert the battery to start it again..
I miss in OVI Suite that it will show my MMS messages.I can see all my SMS messages, but none of the MMS messages shows up.Is this just me or am I doing something wrong?
On the Tattoo it shows that the phone is connected. Sync says the phone is connected... but neither Synchronize Now or Synchronize manager do anything.
I seem to be having some problems using the internet on my phone but I'm not sure if it's the fault of the phone itself or T-Mobile. When I connect either via Wi-Fi or T-Mobile Internet, sometimes it hangs or kicks me off, closing the browser down as it does so, sometimes it doesn't disconnect despite me telling it to, and when using the Windows Live Messenger app it keeps losing the connection.
Nokia PC Suite v7 can't detect my Nokia 6300 that is already connected via USB and selected mass storage.Phone: Nokia 6300 v6.01 (RM-217)OS: Windows XP SP2
I have downloaded and installed the latest Nokia OVI Suite. My phone (E72 - 1, ver 031.023) connects perfectly etc. My problem is that I want to install the latest ovi maps for my phone. Now, according to OVI Suite, my phone has "ALL" maps on it. But I cant see them (when accessing GPS)
Secondly, OVI Suite tells me: your computer is not connected to then internet, when I clearly am. Are there any settings I need to adjust so that the program "Sees" my connection? I cannot connect thorugh my device, as it always tells me: Unable to establish network connection. Please check that your settings are correct etc..." what settings? where do I adjust these?
When I click on "Backup" in PC-Suite it says: "No phones are connected. Connect now."However, all other applications in PC-Suite recognize my connected phone successfully. Can anyone please advise why Backup doesn't recognize it?
I have windows xp profesional and from some week is it impossible to connect my nokia to pc. I tried to install several type of pc suite but i always get that there isn't any type of possible choice of connection (no USB, NO Bluetooth, NO irda).I tryed tostop my firewall but nothin change. What I must try?
Device: Nokia 5230 Provider: 02 Pay as you go (Text and web, unlim text and internet)
First problem:Updating my device; When I try to update my device, it hangs for a few seconds on 'connecting', then I get a connection error. I can connect to the net easy enough, but not update my device.
Second problem.Installing Ebuddy;I've downloaded the popular social networking application to my phone, but when it comes to installing it, i get the error message saying "CONNECTION FAILED! Your internet settings must be activated for Java applications, or try again later.
I've had my e72 since February, but I only just finally got around to downloading ovi suite on my PC. installation was fine, then it came to the part where it says to connect the phone, so I did that, but nothing happened. the thing on the PC said that I should select 'ovi suite' or 'PC suite' when it appears on the phone, but the home screen was blank. i've tried connecting it many times and still nothing. the phone lights up when i connect it to the computer, but it doesn't prompt me for the connection mode. i've checked the settings (currently on usb conn. mode: PC suite / ask on conn.: yes) but it's not asking me on connection, nor is there any indication on the ovi suite program that it is connected.
I installed ovi-suite on my windows XP laptop and tried to connect my X6 using bluetooth. I was able to punch in passcode on my X6. Then ovi suite simply won't continue recognizing my x6. I do see my laptop been paired in my X6, but ovi-suite simply won't continue to next step. After a while of "searching" ovi suite simply shows an error and the process continues. So how do I connect x6 to my PC with bluetooth?
I can not connect my N86 to pc via USB cable, I'm using Widows XP SP3, and Original USB cable comes with the package, Last version of PC Suite, Nokia connectivity cable driver, Nokia Pc Suite Cleaner, all downloaded from Nokia. When I connect it to pc, it starts to be charged but it doesn't be recognized by Pc Suite. I restarted pc and phone both and even reinstalled the program using PC Suite Cleaner several times but no success! I even reset the phone to Factory default and used different pc (with windows XP & 7) but still the same problem! I don't think it's security locked because I didn't change the setup.
I have N97, firmware version 20.0.019 (t mobile - **bleep** with the old firmware updates.... )
I am running windoze 7 with all updates etc. I have the latest version of nokia Ovi Suite and the latest version of Nokia PC Suite. I am reluctantly trying to get used to using ovi suite instead of PC ever since Nokia's update page seemed to suggest I should be using OVi suite with this phone.
Anyway bluetooth connection is working fine. I can do all syncs with everything on bluetooth. USB connection is not, when the phone is connected, and I select PC Suite on the phone, the phone and PC then get stuck in a sort of loop where the PC is "installing drivers" and the phone keeps asking me to select PC Suite mode. Occasionally I get an error message saying I am stuck in file transfer mode.
I have also tried this after going into settings and setting USB connection mode to PC SUITE only, with Don't Ask selected. This is profoundly frustrating and also renders the ability to update phone software totally useless because you cannot update via bluetooth, only USB connection.
I am getting mighty peeved off with Nokia's ability to get firmware, and software products right. Come on guys, hire some decent developers, and/or start responding to feedback from customers like me. (I'd happily beta test any software, I've done it before for an online game......!!!!)
I am considering selling my N97 online, and just buying an unlocked HTC HD2 after over a decade of using Nokia phones.
I am trying to re-install the firmware (v40.0.005) on my 5800 xm using ovi suite 2.1.1.1. but i keep getting the message 'INTERNAL your device could not be detected'.I have uninstalled pc and cable connectivity, along with ovi suite several times and then re-installed them but to no avail. I have also tried to re-install the firmware with and without the memory card but to the same end. Is this a problem with ovi suite, my device or my computer?
I use the phone with a MAC via Bluetooth and on my work with a Windows XP and PC Suite connected to Outlook 2007. It synchronizes wel,l everything comes in via the XP. But only once a day? A second sync says phone is not idle. Even if I force it. Strange enough the phone is always connected via Bluetooth and if I get a call I can see it on my XP. So bluetooth connection works well. But whatever I try I can only sync once.On the MAC it always works so it's not the phone I think. For the rest I have no issues with the E72 at all. Only GPS without data connection doesn't work. I have seen other remarks on this so I guess can't use it without a data subscription.
I'm this close to returning this phone. I keep on connecting the phone to the PC and get this: "Nokia 5130 XpressMusic USB Phone Parent". This service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. This is what I did (in this sequence).
1) installed ovi 2) installed PC Suite 3) uninstalled ovi 4) uninstalled Connectivity Driver 5) installed another version of Connectivity Driver (downloaded separately, and was an older version) 6) uninstalled every trace of ALL Nokia drivers and software
My phone is detected and works fine in multimedia and printing and USB storage device modes. It's just the PC suite mode that's giving me a headache. And also, I restarted my PC after every step that is mentioned above. The driver is 5130c-2.
I was having some problems with transfering musics to my Nokia n70, so yesterday I updated my version of the nokia pc suite. Last night everything was working fine, however today in the morning I tried to connect my mobile phone to the computer and it's always showing the same error! Here is what I'm using:
- windows xp professional version 2002 - nokia n70 with a usb cable type CA-53 - nokia pc suite 7.1.40.6
The general error that appears is: "USB Device not recognized" In the Nokia Pc Suite-Get Connected appears "There is no available connection type and therefore connection to the phone cannot be established. The wizard will exit."I already tried to uninstall and install again and to install the drivers separately. I had a look at other threads but didn't find anything about this version of the nokia pc suite.
I have had many kind of problems connecting my N97 mini with my laptop but have finally hitted the edge in this issue and didn't find an answer existing here. When I updated my Ovi Suite to the latest version the connection to my N97 mini was cutted off. This was maybe two weeks ago and I haven't been able to connect the phone to the laptop with PC suite connection form ever since (and no further updates available). I can sure connect with the Ovi Music in other connection forms and store the music to my phone but any connections with the Ovi Suite fails. There for I cannot sync my photoes or address book or get the new updates by my computer. What could I do to get the connection back? Install an older version again? Where to get one?
Today I checked the program updates with my phone application and there is software version 12.0.110 available to upload. Well, my phone does offer for other updates to "start to update" but this one gives only option to "update via computer" (I don't know the exact terms for the option written in the quotes since I use my Nokia in Finnish). How could I get the updates to my phone via computer when I cannot connect with the Ovi Suite anymore?
I had windows 7 SP1 and PC suite is Version 7.1.45.0 last weekend I got my new Nokia 7230 than I installed PC Suite and my Bluetoothstick first I got this message without choosing connection Now I can't choose the art of connection?
When updating my E63 contacts, calendar etc. uUsing PC-Suite via Bluetooth, every update asks the phone "Accept connection request from PC?" This doesn't occur when using a cable connection but is a real nuisance when using Bluetooth. Any way of automatically accepting the connection request?
all my office friends are using our office wifi in their nokia phones. but my phone 701 is connecting with wifi.. but no internet.. I reinstalled my device software also it is not working.
My Sony Ericsson Cybershot C510a was working fine for last 6/7 months.I upgraded to latest firmware 3 months back.& it was working fine. Recently I cant use the phone because: It's keypad. It acts interestingly:
Case 01: After making the phone ON, 40/50 seconds it remains OK, but when I push the down arrow in menu list or in phonebook, It keeps going down & down. Case 02: when I click on call end button to close anything, it closes that but opens the phonbook. Case 03: After few minutes, it's keypad freezes/hangs & display shows nothing. I cant bring back the display(Pls note: at that time, when I open the camera slider, display cames again). When a call comes, display comes but I cant receive the call.
I tried master rest, Memory card format, Update service successfully, but problem starts after few minutes.
