My cell phone has always been a Nokia. The latest upgrade with AT&T, I got the red Nokia 6350. Phone works fine except that I am not able to send or receive multimedia message from my family and friends. Is there a feature on the phone that I did not turn on to make this work? MMS messages always received with a message read: :"Multimedia Message error, unknown network error".

As far i am aware i have deleted all old mms and have auto retrieve disabled on advice of the stage fright virus prevention,could it be that?

View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to forward a text message to more than 10 people by using the contacts menu to select the recipients, the message changes from text message to multimedia message.
Since, I do not have a subscription for multimedia messages with my service provider, the message remains in the outbox and never gets sent.
Can someone advice why the text message converts to multimedia message? How to prevent this from happening everytime I send/forward text message to more than 10 people from the contacts list?
how do you turn on/use the speakerphone on the 6350? I do not see a way, nor find it in the users manual. However, under the 6350 specs it does say it has the capability.
View 8 Replies View RelatedThe multimedia key on my Nokia N79 is broken (nr 3 in the picture). My plan was to map the 'multimedia menu' functionality on the left selection key (nr 2). But the 'multimedia menu' doesn't appear in the list of possible mappings. It is also impossible to reach the 'multimedia menu' via the normal menu.
Conclusion: if the multimedia key is broken, it appears that it is impossible to use the 'multimedia menu'
Does anyone know a workaround? Or, if Nokia is reading this, can you add the 'multimedia menu' to the mapping-options for the selection keys?
While entering an SMS (text), when I reach a certain unknown number of written characters my N8 pops up message saying, 'Message type changed to multimedia msg.' There's-one-little-glitch: Where I live MMS service is - not - available! If I delete even one (1) character I get another pop up saying, 'Msg type changed to text msg.'
Nokia's solution: When the N8 tries to convert to mms go to Options > Sending Options > msg type > Text. Nokia's solution fails immediately after pressing 'Options' because there is NO 'Sending Options' option to select! How - can I disable/remove/get rid of this unwanted/forced MMS change over so I can write and send as many characters as I want/need in SMS (text).
I have been using PC Sync for a long while now, and had no problems so far But since about two weeks ago, the entries that have been entered / modified in Microsoft Outlook, are not synced into my phone at all. PC Sync tells a warning message about these events and contacts, says it could not insert entries into the mobile phone. All the entries that have been entered / changed on my phone, are succesfully synced into my Outlook. I did not change / install anything so I do not know why did this issue started about two weeks ago.

I'm unable to send multimedia messages and have been unable to register it on My Nokia as the IMEI is unrecognised. I've checked the SIM card being used in another phone and there are no problems.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been loving the 5.1.1 update but the messaging app has been a mixed bag, I've seen others complaining about the greyed out texts with timestamp and it's great group chats work now, but the problem I have been having is that the group chat messages don't come through about 80% of the time, I got a message of "you have a multimedia message ready to be downloaded" then when I try to download it I get a failure message.

It lists a number of email providers, but no "ovi mail". What am I doing wrong.On a related note, I would like to access email from another provider (POP). How can I do that? View 5 Replies View RelatedJust got a 6350. I know that there are probably lots of places where I can download ringtones. However, I wanted to mention that I am unhappy with the limited number of default ringtones (about 12). Even my 5 year old Nokia had more choices.
Additionally, all the options play music. There is nothing that is less annoying / more professional sounding. Just a simple ring or beep sequence. So, I'm just learning. Please point me at a good place to download non-song ring tones for this phone. I'm on AT&T if that's an issue.
We have 6350s that we've opted for 'voice only' service. Our batteries last for only 2-3 days (primarily in standby); I suspect it's the 3G network that is so parasitic. Has anyone knowledge of how to toggle Network Mode to GSM (etc)?

My biggest problem with the handset is that there's no support for the 6350 in Apple's iSync application and there isn't a plugin available from Nokia. When I bought it I had to enter all of my information by hand (since a SIM transfer completely sucks[2]). Now I'm having the handset replaced because the back is falling off and I'm faced with reentering all of that information again.
So, when will there be iSync support for the 6350? And are there any other ways (other than the aforementioned sucky SIM card method) to transfer all of my current data from the old 6350 to the new one when I get it in a couple of days?

I had created a [URL] account, and had linked it to my Facebook account. Due to some problems, however, I had to delete/deactivate the ovi.com account. I have just recently found out that my Facebook is still 'linked' to the old [URL] account, and since that account has been deleted, I am unable to unlink the Facebook account.

I sent a couple of messages to Nokia asking questions about the use of the 6350. The first reply I received was a generic response that was of no help whatever. It seemed apparent that the support technician did nothing more than glance at the message and sent a useless reply. I answered that message but never got a reply back.
I have two questions: Is my experience typical of what others have gotten from Nokia, or should I view it as anomoly? I know that Nokia makes the handset. The software on the handset, the user interface, is that produced and supported by Nokia, by AT&T or another party?
I have a Nokia 6350, which has a 2.5'' headset outlet on the side. I tried to find out which headsets are compatible with this model, but the Nokia website only lists Bluetooth ones. But of course this model support wired headsets too, otherwise it would not have an headset outlet in the first place? recommend me an headset which is compatible with my phone?
