I just updated my 5800XM's FW to the latest version (40.0.005). After the FW update I can't install any apps on the phone. When I try to install an app, it gives an error Unable to start operation. Installer already in use. I tried again after restarting the phone, but still no change.
View 3 Replieswell i dutifully upgraded to the latest firmware and while the kinetic scrolling is nice i feel there has been an attempt to emulate the iphone somewhat with the 'slider' functions for answering calls and turning off alarms?
frankly i think they are awful and fiddly there was nothing wrong with the origional touch button functions. the rest is fine nokia honestly i Heart my 5800 immensly but stop trying to ape the iphone and just do your own thing
please remove the sliders in the next update!
After i updated my phone to 08.71 version, mail and chat features was deleted. How can i regain these features?

Phone restarted by itself, after that I turned on music player. I saw message that Looking music and podcast etc. Now this message just stays there forever. SO I restarted again and try to refresh library but no luck. There are tons of song in memory card but they wont load in music player. I got this problem after new firware update.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm on a 5800 and I'm currently on firmware v40. Ever since I've upgraded, my mobile browsing experience has suffered. Sometimes when I'm surfing the net, a message will appear on the lines of "Memory Full: Please close some applications." This occurs even when the browser (usually Opera Mobile, but it happens on Symbian just as often) is the only app open and used to occur only on CNN but now it has started occurring elsewhere. Also, since I've updated to v40, I have been unable to open a second tab without crashing the browser. Has anyone else had this problem? What was your fix?

I am connecting my device via a usb cable, when the pc recognises the device it brings up the phone's folders (mass memory, phone memory, and media card) When I 'drag' the files from the folder in which they are contained in my pc to the phone I cannot 'drop' them as I get that pesky red circle with the red line through it.

When ever i try to install Qt apps on my phone, it ask me for installing the package but the installation stops during ' preparing installation' and does not go through ' finalising installation'. After this i does find the nokia smart installer icon but when i click on it, it says ' no installation pending'. I can also find the application in application manager but can't find its icon anywhere. Some Qt apps does install properly but many including wellness diary, nokia drop, etc doesn't install. My device is Nokia X6 16 GB and i have latest firmware and all Qt components installed on my device.

I cannot install Java applications on my Nokia E5 because anytime I try to it suddenly shows 'disconnected'... I've tried all I can to solve this problem but to no avail...

I Updated my phone to the 40.0.005 firmware version When I play a music with the music player, at the end of the song, there is a General System error and I can't use the payer anymore. But the rest of the phone system is operational, I can do what I want (except playing music). If I reboot the phone, I can play 1 song and the same error appears. I've tried a soft reset, a hard reset and a firmware reinstallation. The problem remains the same.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have recently updated to v50 firmware. I did first OTA, and then through Ovi Suite. I am experiencing several issues, the most severe of which is a substantially patchier internet connection. The internet connection worked well previously, but now it's a coin toss whether it will or not. This change coincided with the update. The auto-rotation has also become substantially slower. I have tried reinstalling the firmware, resetting the phone, rebooting, removing battery and SIM card, to no avail.
I am very happy for Nokia to be updating the firmware for a phone that came out a while ago, so this is just constructive criticism. I am overall happy with the phone, and all the improvements are very welcome. The main issue I had been experiencing was random crashing of the browser, and occasional random reboot from the phone.
I have lost some pre-installed Nokia Apps (Photo & Video Editor,Nokia Check in,Traveler,Ovi Music etc) after hard reset .I have tried to reinstall firmware via Nokia Suite,but still cant find these apps.Plz Provide me these apps.

This could also be because of problems with our servers. Is it that NSU does not support N900 and if so why would Nokia sell a phone and not provide software to update the phone with.

Before I installed the update, I did a back up of my phone contents. Now, after the update I can't restore the backup because the phone keeps restarting. I decided to follow the instructions to install it, but it requires me to update the ovi store. I dont know if this will update the firmware as well, but i heard that the newest firmware (v031.032 i believe) is very buggy, so i want to avoid this until another firmware comes out.Can someone help? if its already on the phone, i just need to know where it is. If its not on the phone, will updating the ovistore affect anything in terms of new firmware or other sorts? The reason i want to install this is to utilize the google calendar so i dont have to keep plugging the e72 into the computer (and possibly damaging the plastic usb cover).
