I have lost some pre-installed Nokia Apps (Photo & Video Editor,Nokia Check in,Traveler,Ovi Music etc) after hard reset .I have tried to reinstall firmware via Nokia Suite,but still cant find these apps.Plz Provide me these apps.
View 1 RepliesI just got the "Homescreen widgets" software update which appears to be a Belle Refresh "lite" on my N8. Just things like the rss widget (at last!) and the fancy clocks etc.However it consumed another 15mb of precious c drive leaving the phone with just 5mb and lots of messages to make space.Having the 2.1 microsoft apps I tried deleting the powerpoint broadcast app (i never use) which then removed the whole office app suite!So I formatted the mass memory- did a *#7370# and started again. Connected to the PC suite and there was only one piece of software to update a social update.I am now on 111.030.0609.223.01 - which should have ms apps = but no ms apps on my phone!!What should I do? Why the heck can't you download it from nokia store and is my only option a visit to nokia care?

Checked for the update. No Update but also no option to reinstall the firmware.

After scanning got the option to reinstall the device software aka firmware.Clicked it and it downloaded the firmware package from nokia server and game me three preparatory alert. It was fine.. Then did the back up. Done too. After that it start the installation step. In that It say Preparation and then installing software, before anything happens to N82 it Nokia Ovi just disconnect the mobile and on the installation Process it is written " Installation failed".
Scenario 02:

ried to go through same process to reinstall firmware but when I click to check for the updates I don't get an option to reinstall the firmware. Tried it many times even after restarting the machine.
Then installed Nokia Software Updater .same thing as Window 7. No Update and also no option to reinstall the firmware.nstalled Nokia PC suite just as a thought of any missing file needed to run the update process. But nothing changed.Now kindly tell me HOW to install the firmware as now I just want to reinstall the firmware and sell this Nokia **bleep**.I am fed up of this and trying from last three days.
after upgrading my 701 to Belle FP1:
- i started to have Wi-Fi issues, connection dropped more than usual;
- Every time i clicked over the "Climate Mission 3D" it used to launch "JoikuSpot" instead;
- Nokia Store keeps reporting there was a new Maps Suite v2.0 even though this update/version was already in place and even if you performed the installation following that notification...;
So to get over these issues i went for a "clean installation", this wasn't possible, i tried to reinstall the system using Nokia Suite, it didn't work as it always gives back the error 12054;So, i tried the hard reset first, this worked, it wiped out everything except the info at the SD card but this step brought me even more issues, so i tried again using Nokia Suite and the issue remained, i receive the error 12054 every time i try reinstall the system.So apart from the mentioned above, i've got the following new issues:
- Wifi connection drops even more often;
- Apps installation fails a lot, thanks perhaps to the Wifi connectivity issues;
- Word, Excel, Ppt, OneNote, Broadcast, all these are gone;
- Some apps simply don't open, example: default QuickOffice;
I've reported this issue to Nokia Support and the answer was go to the next Nokia Care point..
Is it ok to reinstall firmware? will it damage the phone?
View 14 Replies View RelatedMy N900 was failing to detect the PR1.2 upgrade over the air so I installed the latest versions of Nokia PC Suite and NSU and tried to do an upgrade that way. The new upgrade wasn't detected but NSU offered to allow me to reinstall the existing firmware which is Version 1.2009.42-11.205.1 so I did that and it appeared to do so successfully. N.B.
I now have a phone which doesn't detect the SIM and (even though the drivers appear to be correctly installed) PC Suite and NSU can't detect the phone via USB in PC Suite mode. I can still connect to the hard disk in USB Mass Storage mode and the general phone functions seem ok. What's my next step to get my phone back to a useful state and what did I or NSU do wrong? I would have been confident of using the flasher until NSU messed up my phone.
I bought a Nokia N97 Mini phone, but it has some custom software version. I wonder if there is a way for me to reinstall the original Nokia software and if it can be found on the internet?

I restored the backup, but some of my applications are missing. strangly,when I download them again and installing the phone asks me if I want to replace the the exsiting version with a new one. View 5 Replies View RelatedAs I was updating my N900 to the newest firmware, my computer crashed (not because of the install, I was running other hardware intencive programs.) and I'm 100% sure it wasn't finished installing the firmware when it had crashed.
But when my computer crashed the phone seemed to running normally and when it was finished installing it worked fine. Is it possible that it didn't finish?Either way just to be on the safe side, how do I reinstall the update to be 100%?
I updated my phone firmware from v40 to v50 over the air. The download package was around 9MB in size. After the upgrade, I realised that my phone did not have all the features of v50 firmware update. For example, features like "Quick Office v4.2 integrated", "Rihanna service launcher in web browser" are missing. Then I decided to reinstall the v50 update through my laptop. So when I connected my phone with my laptop and opened the "Nokia Software Updater" it said that the update package is around 138MB. Now I face a problem. After clicking on Re-Install option in "Nokia Software Updater" the download does not stop at 138MB. Infact it does not stop at all. It goes on like 2MB of 138MB.. 4MB of 138MB.. 60MB of 138MB.. and then 200MB of 200MB... 300MB of 300MB and so on. I decided at that time to wait for some time. But it reached 350 MB and still it did not stop.
So any idea if this is expected behavior or is there a problem with my phone or the "Nokia Software Updater" software. Please note that I have the latest version of "Nokia Software Updater" installed on my laptop. Fortunately, I don't have any serious problems with my phone except that when I click on "applications" icon, it takes some time to respond.
I downloaded Sports tracker in my 5800 a year ago, I uninstall it but, now, triying yo reinstall from nokia store always appear as "Downloaded" in grey color. żIt´s possible to download it again from Nokia store?.

I have bought a new 16 gb sd card to replace the 8 gb card that comes with the phone. I thought that copying all the files (including hidden and system) will be enough, but when I put the new card, applications installed in the memory card does not work. View 1 Replies View RelatedSo this might be a little long winded, but it's just what I've been through so I cant' really condense it down anymore.So a few days ago now (almost a week) I received an SMS from Nokia telling me to update my phone firmware. I then hooked my phone up to my PC, and checked for software updates. I updated OVI Suite to the latest version, rebooted and then checked again. It found the update for my phone and asked if I wished to apply it. Naturally I said yes, it then told me I should backup my phone first, and then asked if I would like to do that now, which I said yes to, and chose to backup everything. It then downloaded the update, applied it, and then asked me to restore my phone, All of which appeared to work fine.A quick look through my phone to check everything and it all appeared normal, My custom theme was there, my facebook app was there, my contacts/photos/music were there. Oh but wait, I was missing my Sudoku game. A little odd, yes, but no worries I got that from the OVI store, I'll just be able to re-download it, because that's why you make purchases from app stores instead of publishers directly.No, apparently not. This game wasn't listed in my "My Stuff" tab in the OVI application. That's ok, I'll just download it from the SMS I was sent originally.

So at a loss I decide to turn to technical support, I mean after all I have a technical issue I need support with.I e-mail technical support Basically telling them above. Then then ask for a transaction ID, which I have no record of (not sure why not?). I then provide even more information, ask them to escalate, ect. End result is, I don't get my game back. They have no record of me downloading this in the past, and for some reason it isn't available to download anymore.Frustrated, I e-mail the developer/publisher, explaining my situation. They respond promptly (within the hour), providing my with a link and SMS to download the application again, and apologise for Nokia's behaviour. Nice. I've now got my game back things are good again in my world.So with that little story in mind, I raise a few questions. Why was this application not backed up/restored with my phone backup? This seems like a pretty serious bug, especially considering that technical support won't provide download links for games or applications unless you can provide them with information provided by Nokia in the first place ( :s very round about).
My situation is pretty small in the whole scheme of things I guess. But if it can happen to me I guess it can happen to others. So why Nokia can things like this happen? What would have happened if this wasn't a small game, but rather a largish application, with data, that cost lots of money? Sure I could have gone directly to the publisher then as well, but if the purchase was made through the OVI store, what record would they have of me? This centralised store is supposed to handle all of these problems (ie, Steam or Apple App Store). Also how can bugs like this get through the alpha/beta testing of the OVI Suite backup utility? This must surely be considered a critical part of the application.Judging from my response from Nokia thus far, I'm not sure if I'm even expecting a response to this. I guess it should server as a warning to others if they think they can trust this software or even the technical support behind it to back them up in case of issues. My advise? Get a different brand phone.
My Ovi suite says there is no firmware update for my 5530. The latest is v. 20. Is my US 5530 not included in the new v. 30 update?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've tried to update my E63 software using Nokia Suite v3.3.86 but in vain.
The steps I've followed in the 3rd step fo update process (i.e. Install) are as follows with screenshots attached:
1. It checks for valid installation file (see attached "Installation file validation.png"). Since the update has been downloaded by it previously, it proceeds to next step.
2. It starts preparing to install (see attached "Preparing to install.png").
3. It show USB connection active screen with a windows notification saying "Nokia E63 disconnected via USB" is seen on "Install screen". (see attached "Install Screen.png" for "Install Screen").
4. Next with the same USB connection active screen, a windows notification saying "Nokia E63 connected via USB" is seen on "Install screen".
5. The windows notification disappears and the screen is still at the "Install Screen" (see attached "Install Screen.png").
6. Nothing happens even after waiting for a long time. Clicking "Next" repeats the above mentioned process from step 2.
Dialing "*#0000#" gives the following info:

MY Maps do not load, online or offline. It shows me the map screen but it stays blank with a random position that i don't know of. I have tried deleting cities and qf but i dont know how to reinstall the whole maps

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been having some 'memory leak' problems with my Nokia e71 recently so took the opportunity just now to attempt to reinstall the firmware via the Nokia Software Updater programme on my PC.It got so far (presumably to the point where it had deleted the previous version and was about to start installing the new copy) when the computer flashed up a message saying that the USB connection had been lost and that I should turn off and then on the phone again and then reconnect the USB cable to finish the job.Problem is, the phone is in a blank screen state due to being halfway through the reinstall and no amount of pressing any button turns it off, on, into any kind of useable mode and that means at the moment that I am a) without a phone, b) uncontactable and c) hugely annoyed.Putting the USB into my other computer (or indeed, restarting the initial one) doesn't do anything because with the phone to all intents and purposes 'off', neither PC detects
