My blackberry Pearl 8110 is dead. It was spinning an hour glass continuously. I took out the battery and waited for a couple of minutes then put the battery back. Now I only see the red light flashing. What should I do the rescue?
I have a N82 and want to reinstall its firmware without using any other tool as it may wipe the Warranty details. Here is the scenario OS: Windows 7 32bit Ultimate with Administrator rights Connected over: USB Original Datab cable. Battery: Full Phone: Reset to Factory defaults and prepared to work fine. Antivirus: shut down and closed. System tasks: almost closed all of them
Installed: >>Nokia PC Suite then >>Nokia Software Updater. Checked for the update. No Update but also no option to reinstall the firmware. >>Installed Nokia Ovi After scanning got the option to reinstall the device software aka firmware.Clicked it and it downloaded the firmware package from nokia server and game me three preparatory alert. It was fine.. Then did the back up. Done too. After that it start the installation step. In that It say Preparation and then installing software, before anything happens to N82 it Nokia Ovi just disconnect the mobile and on the installation Process it is written " Installation failed".
Scenario 02:
OS: Windows XP Pro Sp3 with Administrator rights Connected over: USB Original Datab cable. Battery: Full Phone: Reset to Factory defaults and prepared to work fine. Antivirus: Not installed System tasks: Fresh installed Installed: Nokia Ovi ried to go through same process to reinstall firmware but when I click to check for the updates I don't get an option to reinstall the firmware. Tried it many times even after restarting the machine. Then installed Nokia Software Updater .same thing as Window 7. No Update and also no option to reinstall the firmware.nstalled Nokia PC suite just as a thought of any missing file needed to run the update process. But nothing changed. Now kindly tell me HOW to install the firmware as now I just want to reinstall the firmware and sell this Nokia **bleep**.I am fed up of this and trying from last three days.
I have been having some 'memory leak' problems with my Nokia e71 recently so took the opportunity just now to attempt to reinstall the firmware via the Nokia Software Updater programme on my PC.It got so far (presumably to the point where it had deleted the previous version and was about to start installing the new copy) when the computer flashed up a message saying that the USB connection had been lost and that I should turn off and then on the phone again and then reconnect the USB cable to finish the job.Problem is, the phone is in a blank screen state due to being halfway through the reinstall and no amount of pressing any button turns it off, on, into any kind of useable mode and that means at the moment that I am a) without a phone, b) uncontactable and c) hugely annoyed.Putting the USB into my other computer (or indeed, restarting the initial one) doesn't do anything because with the phone to all intents and purposes 'off', neither PC detects
My N900 was failing to detect the PR1.2 upgrade over the air so I installed the latest versions of Nokia PC Suite and NSU and tried to do an upgrade that way. The new upgrade wasn't detected but NSU offered to allow me to reinstall the existing firmware which is Version 1.2009.42-11.205.1 so I did that and it appeared to do so successfully. N.B.
I now have a phone which doesn't detect the SIM and (even though the drivers appear to be correctly installed) PC Suite and NSU can't detect the phone via USB in PC Suite mode. I can still connect to the hard disk in USB Mass Storage mode and the general phone functions seem ok. What's my next step to get my phone back to a useful state and what did I or NSU do wrong? I would have been confident of using the flasher until NSU messed up my phone.
I bought a Nokia N97 Mini phone, but it has some custom software version. I wonder if there is a way for me to reinstall the original Nokia software and if it can be found on the internet?
there is some misbehaviour with my phn software, so i want to reinstall its firmware, for that let me know from wher to download it and reinstalling procedure.
first off is my problem with ics which i installed the other day after watching a "how to install" video on Internet. got it installed and working fine but as you may or may not know its not official update so there was alot of issues like the phone would turn itself off and other annoying things.now i want it back to stock (not bothered about the orange bloatware that was on it). i am new to all this flashing/installing.
As I was updating my N900 to the newest firmware, my computer crashed (not because of the install, I was running other hardware intencive programs.) and I'm 100% sure it wasn't finished installing the firmware when it had crashed.
But when my computer crashed the phone seemed to running normally and when it was finished installing it worked fine. Is it possible that it didn't finish?Either way just to be on the safe side, how do I reinstall the update to be 100%?
I have lost some pre-installed Nokia Apps (Photo & Video Editor,Nokia Check in,Traveler,Ovi Music etc) after hard reset .I have tried to reinstall firmware via Nokia Suite, but still cant find these apps.Plz Provide me these apps.
I updated my phone firmware from v40 to v50 over the air. The download package was around 9MB in size. After the upgrade, I realised that my phone did not have all the features of v50 firmware update. For example, features like "Quick Office v4.2 integrated", "Rihanna service launcher in web browser" are missing. Then I decided to reinstall the v50 update through my laptop. So when I connected my phone with my laptop and opened the "Nokia Software Updater" it said that the update package is around 138MB. Now I face a problem. After clicking on Re-Install option in "Nokia Software Updater" the download does not stop at 138MB. Infact it does not stop at all. It goes on like 2MB of 138MB.. 4MB of 138MB.. 60MB of 138MB.. and then 200MB of 200MB... 300MB of 300MB and so on. I decided at that time to wait for some time. But it reached 350 MB and still it did not stop.
So any idea if this is expected behavior or is there a problem with my phone or the "Nokia Software Updater" software. Please note that I have the latest version of "Nokia Software Updater" installed on my laptop. Fortunately, I don't have any serious problems with my phone except that when I click on "applications" icon, it takes some time to respond.
i recently purchased a brand new unlocked Pearl 9100 and on the side of the box was some Vodafone stickers but upon turning on the device i see no reference to Vodafone at all and the software version (6 Bundle 2474 v6.0.0.546) seems to indicate it's generic firmware.I have been noticing the phone changing network layers (Egde, GPRS, 3G) erratically and seems slow to find a nearer tower and switch to it to remain 3G so i am thinking perhaps Optus firmware may have optimisation for this problem but i cannot get it loaded.I have tried deleting the vendor.xml file and reinstalling the Optus 9100 firmware, and following the usual instructions found in this forum but when it finishes reading the phone it states the Optus firmware is not compatible with my device so it's all blanked out.
First thread here..Does anyone have a tutorial or link on how to remove branding from the firmware? or maybe a stock complete update or something..Is this even possible? cause everywhere i look there are only carrier branded OS..are there stock OS existing?

I have a Blackberry 8230 that won't turn on. When the battery is charged, the red light flashes very slowly (about 10 seconds on, 10 seconds off). When I plug the USB cable into the computer, I see the BB hard drive for a brief second or two, then it disappears. It will appear briefly again about 20 seconds later, then disappear again. Is the battery shot? Or could there be something else going on? The phone was on the charger all night.
I am having a problem to upgrade the device software of my daughter Pearl 8100 from v4.2 to 4.5. The BB update web site does not recognize that is a new version of the device software available.
I have a Bell Blackberry Bold 9700 and I just switch to Rogers! Would it be *better if I flash the rogers firmware on the phone, or leave it with the bell firmware? The rogers one is .351 and the bell one is .423 ...I guess I was wondering if the rogers would be better since i'm on the Rogers network
I just get the run-a-round at Verizon..I had a Pearl and loved it for texting, but never used the web on it.Seemed like a waste of money for the data plan.Back to a old phone but would love to have the pearl back without the data plan.Is this possible? I still have the pearl, just wishing I could use it for calls and texting.
I have a Pearl 8100 which has developed a bad screen.I was given another 8100 as a replacement. Same network, T-Mobile. I want to copy all the data, address book, etc. and setup from the old 8100 to the new one. I backed up the old 8100 using Blackberry DM but when I restored to the new 8100 nothing was changed.
I've recently imported a couple of .wma files into my Pearl 3G 9105. Although the files are listed , whenever i try to play them i get an error prompt "Error Playing: An error has occurred attempting to play media".
Basically, i found a BlackBerry Pearl 8100 O2 on the street yesterday. I know this might upset some people, but im going to keep it. Because i need a new phone! Now how should i go on about this? will it work with just inserting my SIM ?
Can anyone tell me if the Blackberry Desktop 6.0 properly supports synchronization between Outlook 2010 32-bit and a Pearl 8100 with device software v4.5.0.102 (Platform 2.7.0.85)?I first did a one-way sync from Outlook to my device (replacing all device data). That worked fine. However, using Calendar as an example, the next sync tried to delete all calendar entries from some point in 2009 and prior. It also identified changes to entries that were not changed at all!Sync'ing Task, Memos and Contacts yielded the same problem where items were identified as being changed when they were not. When trying different sequences of synchronization including doing a reset on my Pearl before resync'ing, I get different and inconsistent results. The Blackberry site says I have the latest version of device software, so...
I've flashed my X10 mini(E10a) with a E10i firmware, and I've tried to get back with the E10a but the PC Companion says that its not possible to update, and SEUS says that I have the newer version.-
