I have a Pearl 8100 which has developed a bad screen.I was given another 8100 as a replacement. Same network, T-Mobile. I want to copy all the data, address book, etc. and setup from the old 8100 to the new one. I backed up the old 8100 using Blackberry DM but when I restored to the new 8100 nothing was changed.
Does anyone know how you copy contact from your phone memory to your sim card?? I have a backup phone which I use sometime when I go out but when I swap the sim cards over the numbers aren't ont here and I end up retyping them all.
I just get the run-a-round at Verizon..I had a Pearl and loved it for texting, but never used the web on it.Seemed like a waste of money for the data plan.Back to a old phone but would love to have the pearl back without the data plan.Is this possible? I still have the pearl, just wishing I could use it for calls and texting.
For some reason I can not copy the contents of my SIM phone book to the "Contacts" phone book. I go through the steps listed and it looks like the contents are being coppied but when I go to the Contacts list it shows no contents. I do not know if I did something wrong or the firm ware has gone south. I have taken the battery out and then replaced it trying to restore it to factory setting but that did not seem to work. I am running V4.5.0.182
I have a Blackberry 8230 that won't turn on. When the battery is charged, the red light flashes very slowly (about 10 seconds on, 10 seconds off). When I plug the USB cable into the computer, I see the BB hard drive for a brief second or two, then it disappears. It will appear briefly again about 20 seconds later, then disappear again. Is the battery shot? Or could there be something else going on? The phone was on the charger all night.
I am having a problem to upgrade the device software of my daughter Pearl 8100 from v4.2 to 4.5. The BB update web site does not recognize that is a new version of the device software available.
I've recently imported a couple of .wma files into my Pearl 3G 9105. Although the files are listed , whenever i try to play them i get an error prompt "Error Playing: An error has occurred attempting to play media".
So I do not have a data plan on my blackberry, so no email no web, I use it strictly for phone calls, text messaging and picture taking. I want to transfer my pictures and my sms text messages from my phone to my computer. I would also love to transfer my ringtones if possible but I will not push my luck on that one. I do not have a microsd card in my phone so everything is saved directly to the phone itself. I have tried hooking up my phone to my computer via usb but it does not allow me to go into the phone and copy things over to my computer. I have also downloaded and tried the blackberry desktop manager but it wants me to turn on mass media storage which is not going to help me because there is no microsd card in my phone. I want to save everything to my computer because I bought a new phone that is NOT a blackberry and I want to have my files saved on my computer.
I have and old pearl 8100 with lots of important, for me, telephone data on. When I download the desktop manager it does not make a connection, it doesn't see my blackberry. I searched the web and the BBsupport forums but when I found a simmilar question the link with the answer wasn't active any more.
My 8120 is dropping its data services when roaming outside UK. When I airrve in a new country (happened twice in Sweden) the service works then drops, edge and gprs in lower case and no amount of battery pulls, messages sent to register BIS or calls to service provider will not make any difference. I can link to 3 diffrent network providers in Sweden and cant get data with any of them. Calls to the service provider show their BB services are fine it seems like data roaming isnt working on my phone. How do I get this problem fixed as Orange seem to be unable to fix this.
Can the phone be untethered from my service and re connected to boot the thing back to life again, would that work? I appear to be not linked to my BIS service when roaming, whats the fix for this. My host routing table is empty
I have started using my wifes old Pearl 9105 for my work provided SIM. I can make and receive calls and texts ok. However when I try to connect to WIFI I get " Failed to associate with the network". The router is seen and the profile saved. The router does not have MAC filtering enabled. The router sees the device and shows the correct MAC. The WiFi connection shows as on but has a white dash next to it and not a green tick. I have tried powering down the router and removing the device battery with no success. The device also shows the 3G or EDGE symbol, but does not connect to the APP store or the internet.
I have a BlackBerry® 8120smartphone (EDGE, Wi-Fi)v4.5.0.124 (Platform 2.7.0.92). My service is T-Mobile pre-pay (I do not have a data plan). My access to the web is via wi-fi.How do I download apps or themes without a data plan? While trying to download a theme (from BPlay.com) there was a warning "(DATA PLAN REQUIRED)"
Basically, i found a BlackBerry Pearl 8100 O2 on the street yesterday. I know this might upset some people, but im going to keep it. Because i need a new phone! Now how should i go on about this? will it work with just inserting my SIM ?
Can anyone tell me if the Blackberry Desktop 6.0 properly supports synchronization between Outlook 2010 32-bit and a Pearl 8100 with device software v4.5.0.102 (Platform 2.7.0.85)?I first did a one-way sync from Outlook to my device (replacing all device data). That worked fine. However, using Calendar as an example, the next sync tried to delete all calendar entries from some point in 2009 and prior. It also identified changes to entries that were not changed at all!Sync'ing Task, Memos and Contacts yielded the same problem where items were identified as being changed when they were not. When trying different sequences of synchronization including doing a reset on my Pearl before resync'ing, I get different and inconsistent results. The Blackberry site says I have the latest version of device software, so...
I have a blackberry pearl 8130. My trackball was missing for some reason when I tried to use it some months ago. I do not have service with T-Mobile and the phone will not charge. I had another battery for it but I cannot find it. I used a friend's battery and even updated the software. Nothing works. There is just a battery with a red slash.
I really new help with my blackberry perl 8100 series!! My phone is through cingular and my serves is through t-mobile. So I am all new to this whole adding and updating thing ect...yes this is also my first time owning a blck berry phone!
I want to connect to my Wi-fi network, but the phone doesn't have the option to set it up. Like the button for it does not exist. If I go to the browser, it say I need to connect to a wi-fi network first. And when I say the setup wizard isn't there, I mean it is not on the phone period.I dunno if it ever had it.One day out of the blue a bunch of things went missing.Namely ever ringtone on the phone was deleted. The names are still there, the files are just missing. No idea how it happened. All I know is I didn't do anything to cause it to happen. The main thing I want to do is update the OS and get some ringtones on there.I don't have a USB cable for it.
How do you activate speaker phone? I read on yahoo answers that it's just the P key but when I press that it asks me if I want to add . to speed dial. Please help
I've decided that I'm going to sell my Flip on ebay, but I'm having some problems figuring out how to remove all my info from the phone. I don't want to delete the OS and have to reinstall and all that, I just simply want to remove my own personal information that I've put into it.From everything I've read, I simply go to Options > Security Settings > General Settings > Wipe Handheld. On my 8330 I can find this perfectly but on my 8230 it's nowhere to be found? That option is just not there and I can't find it anywhere else either. I know the phone had been restored to factory settings when I received it so there's gotta be a way to do this. Any ideas anyone? Running v4.6.1.234 ETA: Okay, I just went back into General Settings and scrolled down to a few random things listed under Services.I see that when I click those, I'm given the "Wipe Handheld" option. I'll give that a try!
