View 1 RepliesMy 8120 is dropping its data services when roaming outside UK. When I airrve in a new country (happened twice in Sweden) the service works then drops, edge and gprs in lower case and no amount of battery pulls, messages sent to register BIS or calls to service provider will not make any difference. I can link to 3 diffrent network providers in Sweden and cant get data with any of them. Calls to the service provider show their BB services are fine it seems like data roaming isnt working on my phone. How do I get this problem fixed as Orange seem to be unable to fix this.
Can the phone be untethered from my service and re connected to boot the thing back to life again, would that work? I appear to be not linked to my BIS service when roaming, whats the fix for this. My host routing table is empty
I have Blackberry Pearl 8130 Verizon that is full flashed to Metro (web.mms.txt), but when I did the upgrade 65279; I lost the web/email/pix. I got this (your device does not currently have any browser configuration service book entries)
Can you give me step by step instructions on how to get them back? i try with (Resend service books, or options > advanced options > host routing tables > Register Now) but nothing work. i still cant find browser, but before it worked ok
I did an upgrade today, followed instructions, did backup with all boxs ticked, after upgrade completed I did the retore action etc. But I have not got all contacts saved and do not have any of the previously uploaded applications. I need them urgently, but no one available at erickson help line. Also vodaphone phone line and service office are not able to help me my service is with them.How do I get this critical info back, as I urgently need to contact several people in my contact list, but can't without their numbers that are saved into my phone or wherever they get saved when entered.Have also done previous backups, but none seem to restore this info.
My X10i battery is showing some weird problems, so before trying a new battery, i am wanting to reset the phone through SEUS.But here is another problem - due to some problem at the charging port in phone, my phone can only charge through charger via electric outlet, and no charging or data transfer possible any longer through the data cable via computer or laptop [this is confirmed by SE customer care; as per them, entire motherborad of the phone need to be changed to correct the problem, which is a very costly affair (a little over half of the current phone price) so i am avoiding that]. is there any other way to reset/update my phone - like through memory card or OTA - so that i can try to cross- check the battery problem? If yes, then how? Secondly, under these circumstances will i be able to upgrade the phone as an Android 2.3 upgrade is due on August?

Is the data file still on the phone somewhere or can it somehow be recovered?I did not back up the phone with the Desktop manager before the upgrade.

The only thing that I see is the Memo app. The Restore has recovered most of my data. What's missing is all the memos that contain a ton of important info. What do I need to do to recover the data? The data was not restored through a restore from backup.

Verizon Samsung S5 with Kit Kat and want to update to the latest Lollipop. The question is about restoring all the apps and data after a factory reset after the upgrade.
1. I have moved a lot of programs to the SD card- do I need to move them back to Device Memory?
2. If I sign in with my Google account after the Factory Reset after the OS upgrade, will all the apps automatically be restored/installed?
3. I have the Google backup set automatically and restore automatically- will the data and settings be restored as the apps are restored once I log into my Google account?
4. What about all my internet email accounts (Comcast, GMail, etc.)- will they automatically be restored for the messages that are on the S5 and automatically connected to the accounts or do I have to reset these up again?
5. The S5 is also my work email, which is an Exchange Server- will the Factory Reset mean that my IT dept. needs to reestablish the connection between the S5 and the Exchange Server or will that happen automatically (if emails are part of the automatic restore?)
6. I have Keis 3 installed on my computer- should I use this as a backup and restore instead of relying on the automatic Google backup and restore?
My quite new (3 weeks) S6 did a factory data reset on its own. It happened while I was driving for 2hrs on a highway, with the phone resting on the empty passenger seat, not touching the phone. Lost all data, all apps, all pics. Very frustrating. After 3 days of research (visiting Verizon store, calling Verizon, calling Samsung, internet research), the possible cause may the following:
About 2-3 hours before driving, the phone did a scheduled automatic update, which took more than 30 min to complete. This all happened in a signal-weak area. Tech support said, although the update completed, it may have had some flaws, and when the phone detects that, it may resort to a factory data reset to avoid greater functionality problems.
Unfortunately, the end result included functionality problems, most notably that the phone calendar only synched partially (!!) with my desktop Outlook calendar, and promptly I missed two important appointments.
When a scheduled update comes your way, make sure you backup all contacts, photos, data etc, before allowing an update to perform.
I am having a problem to upgrade the device software of my daughter Pearl 8100 from v4.2 to 4.5. The BB update web site does not recognize that is a new version of the device software available.

I want to copy all the data, address book, etc. and setup from the old 8100 to the new one. I backed up the old 8100 using Blackberry DM but when I restored to the new 8100 nothing was changed.

After the update, I noticed that I have lost all of my contacts on the phone, so I plugged it back in to the computer and went with "Restore from backup", which was dated just a few hours prior to updating the firmware.
After it finished restoring, my contacts were all back but half of my apps are missing. I tried redownloading from the App Store as well as syncing from the computer, but the data (game saves, etc) are still missing. How do I get them back?

My blackberry keeps giving me an Error 523 and says reset. I have reset sevaral times and have removed the battery more than once and it starts up and then goes back to the same error message.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter a year and a half of working just fine, my Blackberry 8110 will not connect to my PC via USB. I am using Windows XP Pro ver. 2002 SR 3 and Desktop manager Ver 4.3.0.17. The phone does not appear in Windows device manager when connected, desktop mgr reports no connection and cannot detect the device when prompted. After a hard reset the charging icon appears on the phone momentarily when first plugged into the PC then disappears and will not reappear without another reset. I can charge the unit with an AC charger until I plug it into the PC. After that it is unresponsive to the charger until reset. The phone is fully charged. I read a thread about fiddling with the connection at the phone end of the USB cable. I was able to get an intermittent connection using this technique (or at least the charging icon appeared intermittently), but now that does not seem to make any difference. The AC charger connection is completely solid when I move the plug around. I have removed and reinstalled BDM, no change.Several weeks ago I installed a USB driver for an M audio midi interface and had a great deal of difficulty getting that device to work. I don;t recall whether I have synced the phone since then. I am wondering if that created some sort of conflict or if it somehow corrupted the driver. Other obvious causes are the USB port on the phone or problem with the phone OS. I have tried both USB ports on laptop and both immediately recognize a thumb drive. I don't know how to update/reinstall the RIM driver since the phone other than remove and reinstall BDM which I have done. I am reluctant to wipe the phone without some confidence it will resync. Also thought about switching to bluetooth sync but would rather not buy gear if the phone is KO'd.

I have installed and uninstalled... inserted and re-inserted the battery many times. I have also tried to install an earlier version.

What can I do? I don't want to disconnect the phone in case it damages it. The phone itself is actually working, making and receiving calls and all the apps and info are still ok, just terrified to disconnect incase it dies.
