BB Pearl 8110/20/30 :: 8130 Suddenly Lost Phone Call Audio And Microphone
Feb 22, 2010When I make or receive a call, I don't hear the other party and the don't hear me. Before posting, I have searched and exhausted every potential fix for this problem I could find on this forum. Can anybody make any techincal suggestions?
all buttons work properly
screen functions normally
ringer/text message/email sounds still working properly
volume set to max
replaced ear speaker with one from a known working pearl 8130
profile set full loud
attempted battery pull
media player does not make any sound through phone anymore but does through headphones
cdma v4.5.0.77
i tried searching the forum and the closest similar issue I could find was one on a Storm that was stuck in headset mode. I also tried the cut off qtip cleaning method in the headset port with no luck.I haven't had the chance to try through the factory headphones (lost it) or a bluetooth setup but so far all seems that it would work. When using normal headphones (no mic) I can hear my side of a phone call just fine.

Jun 25, 2010I just get the run-a-round at Verizon..I had a Pearl and loved it for texting, but never used the web on it.Seemed like a waste of money for the data plan.Back to a old phone but would love to have the pearl back without the data plan.Is this possible? I still have the pearl, just wishing I could use it for calls and texting.

Jul 19, 2012For some reason I can not copy the contents of my SIM phone book to the "Contacts" phone book. I go through the steps listed and it looks like the contents are being coppied but when I go to the Contacts list it shows no contents. I do not know if I did something wrong or the firm ware has gone south. I have taken the battery out and then replaced it trying to restore it to factory setting but that did not seem to work. 1. In the phone application, press the Menu key.
2. Click Options.
3. Click General Options.
4. Change the Default Call Volume field.
5. Press the Menu key.
6. Click Save.
Step 1 no prob
Step 2, there is no Options to "Click"
Had to Click "Setting" then Click "Options"
Step 3, couldn't find "General Options" option!

I turn them back on or just make a call to restore the connection but they turn off in about 10 seconds.I found this post below: radio keeps turning itself off which describes a similar issue. There hadn't been any posts on it since last year so I didn't know if there was any updates on the issue or if it still signified that it was a hardware issue with the phone.

Jan 6, 2010I bought a Blackberry Pearl recently. When i text message i press the "shift key" to turn the letter im typing into a capital. But i noticed, or can't find a way to keep my letters constantly in Capital.
For example, if i want to type, "I WANT ALL MY LETTERS CAPITAL!" i seem to have to press the "shift key" button for each individual letter! is there any way around this, where i could press some "shift something key" to where my typing remains in CAPITAL until i repress this "shift something key"??

Apr 22, 2010Whenever I open ANY email, it gives me a message saying "More available". I have to choose the "More" or "More all" option from the menu key in order to get my email text. The option of "Auto more" in General settings is turned ON. What is the fix to this issue? It never used to happen, then all of a sudden it's there.

Feb 15, 2010OK I have checked other threads and havent found a solution...it could be that there isn't one but somehow I am optimistic. Saturday night my phone worked fine. I go to bed wake up and my scroll ball wont click. It scrolls fine but does not select when pressed. I took it to Verizon, they claim water damage. I haven't dropped it in water or anything like that so I am not sure how that's possible. They replaced my trackball and it still doesn't work. Any additional ideas? I can go the Asurion and replace it but don't really want to do that for something as minute as this.

BB Pearl 8100 :: 8110 Clock Doesn't Show Correct Time
Mar 23, 2010I have inherited an 8110 which so far I am very happy with. apart from one small thing. The clock doesn't show the correct time. It does not update minute by minute as a 'normal' timepiece would. If I go into the settings for alarm or date/time then exit the clock is updated. but it will not update again until I do this again.This morning when I woke up for work it was showing 10.50pm last night.
