BB Pearl 8100 :: 8110 Clock Doesn't Show Correct Time
Mar 23, 2010
I have inherited an 8110 which so far I am very happy with. apart from one small thing. The clock doesn't show the correct time. It does not update minute by minute as a 'normal' timepiece would. If I go into the settings for alarm or date/time then exit the clock is updated. but it will not update again until I do this again. This morning when I woke up for work it was showing 10.50pm last night.
All of my password fields on my Pearl 8110 (apps, web, device password) used to use the multitap input method, even though the device was set to Suretype. Now they are all Suretype and I can't seem to find a way to change it without changing the overall device setting to multitap, which I don't want for most typing.
I have a Pearl 8100. Something happened that all my Contacts are no longer in my address book, but show up when someone calls on the caller ID. So I cant get anyones number out of my phone unless they call me.
Basically, i found a BlackBerry Pearl 8100 O2 on the street yesterday. I know this might upset some people, but im going to keep it. Because i need a new phone! Now how should i go on about this? will it work with just inserting my SIM ?
Can anyone tell me if the Blackberry Desktop 6.0 properly supports synchronization between Outlook 2010 32-bit and a Pearl 8100 with device software v4.5.0.102 (Platform 2.7.0.85)?I first did a one-way sync from Outlook to my device (replacing all device data). That worked fine. However, using Calendar as an example, the next sync tried to delete all calendar entries from some point in 2009 and prior. It also identified changes to entries that were not changed at all!Sync'ing Task, Memos and Contacts yielded the same problem where items were identified as being changed when they were not. When trying different sequences of synchronization including doing a reset on my Pearl before resync'ing, I get different and inconsistent results. The Blackberry site says I have the latest version of device software, so...
I've had my Pearl 8120 for about a year or so and for the past 8 months or so it's been unexpectedly crashing, not so much at first, but it has gradually got worse to the point where the phone has become practically unusable, crashing almost every 5-10 mins. The crashing can happen at any time, whilst on a call, texting, emailing, web browsing, menu browsing etc.
Here's what happens:
The screen suddenly goes black, and the red light at the top lights up, then the screen lights up and I get a turning hourglass. This will remain on the screen for anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes, during which I cannot do anything (turn it off, even taking the battery out doesn't fix it, as it returns to doing it when I put the battery back in). When it's done doing this, my home screen appears, giving me a message reading "Verifying Security Software", a loading bar which loads up to 100%. After this, I can use the phone (until it crashes again!), but it doesn't have the memory of the previous call (in other words, it doesn't show up in my recent call list, nor does it remember who the last person I called was in my address book), and I lose whatever txt/email I was typing. I thought it might be a faulty battery so I bought a brand new battery but still the same problem.
This crashing seems to be entirely random and I know I'm not accidentally pressing anything to cause it. There are days where it happens every few hours, but there are some days where its every 5 mins!My phone seems to have moods!
I feel like throwing my phone against a wall and watching as it smashes into a million pieces does that explain how I feel?
I have a Google Nexus 5 running Android 5.0.1 and have recently noticed that the time assigned to pictures taken with my phone are all time-stamped five hours later than when the pictures were actually taken. By time stamped I mean the time shown when I pull up the picture's details.
Given that it's exactly five hours off it seems to me that it's probably a time-zone issue. However, I've checked the settings on my phone under Settings/Date & Time and although both the date and time are set to Automatic Date & Time and Automatic Time Zone, the grayed out text below are showing the correct date, time and time zone. This makes sense since my phone displays the correct date and time across the board except for the photo details. Is this something that can be fixed by adjusting some settings I'm not aware of?
Need a clock that shows seconds or even second hand to sync items at work.
Spent some time in the past researching this but nothing for free found. Suprised only options are applications to buy. Does anyone else find that so basic that it should be included or free or is it just me?
I just get the run-a-round at Verizon..I had a Pearl and loved it for texting, but never used the web on it.Seemed like a waste of money for the data plan.Back to a old phone but would love to have the pearl back without the data plan.Is this possible? I still have the pearl, just wishing I could use it for calls and texting.
I just got my hands on an old Blackberry 8100 (OS4.2.1.96)Sadly, I'm almost certain that this phone won't be able to run 5, but while I was in high school this was my favorite phone and I recently just received one..for free. The phone's trackball doesnt work(clicking the trackball scrolls up), and the volume up doesn't work either. I'm not really going to use the phone as cellular device, but I would rather just have it on my desk as a souvenir...in working condition as a backup. So I've decided to buy a new housing for it, probably fixing the trackball problem, and then this is where I'm not sure. Would the new housing fix the volume bar problem also? Or would I have to actual replace parts on the phone?
I am having a problem to upgrade the device software of my daughter Pearl 8100 from v4.2 to 4.5. The BB update web site does not recognize that is a new version of the device software available.
I am trying to pair my ipad2 with my Blackberry Pearl 8110 and get the message "Blackberry 8110 is not supported"however, my ipad2 can find my Blackberry and indeed shows it on the ipad but when trying to get bluetooth connection it fails to connect.
is there is blackberry file phone explorer out there so that you can check all files/folders on your phone from your computer? not jsut talking about seeing the stuff on your micro sd.. but the system files and such.. i thought there was one but might have been mistaken.
For some reason I can not copy the contents of my SIM phone book to the "Contacts" phone book. I go through the steps listed and it looks like the contents are being coppied but when I go to the Contacts list it shows no contents. I do not know if I did something wrong or the firm ware has gone south. I have taken the battery out and then replaced it trying to restore it to factory setting but that did not seem to work. I am running V4.5.0.182
I would like to purchase and download the new instaphoto application for a blackberry pearl 8110 but i do not have mobile internet at the moment. & when I tried to purchase it it required for me to have the radio on but like I said, there's no internet. Is there a way i can still purchase/download the app and import it to my bb using the blackberry desktop manager/software?
1. In the phone application, press the Menu key. 2. Click Options. 3. Click General Options. 4. Change the Default Call Volume field. 5. Press the Menu key. 6. Click Save.
Step 1 no prob Step 2, there is no Options to "Click" Had to Click "Setting" then Click "Options" Step 3, couldn't find "General Options" option!
There is an icon on the right hand side of my screen directly below my battery symbol.it is a circle, with a glowing line going through it from top right to bottom left.I have no idea where this icon came from and what it means, OR how to get rid of it! Anybody?
When I have a missed call, the LED flashes red and the only way I can turn it off is to turn my BB off and on again. Is there some other way to accomplish this?
Just last night the radio/towers on my phone turned off. I turn them back on or just make a call to restore the connection but they turn off in about 10 seconds.I found this post below: radio keeps turning itself off which describes a similar issue. There hadn't been any posts on it since last year so I didn't know if there was any updates on the issue or if it still signified that it was a hardware issue with the phone.
Is it possible to remove the default RIM themes from the 8110 as I no longer use them as I prefer using the 3rd party themes on here that use the OS 5 style Icons, and would like to free up memory by removing as much of the OS that I don't use?
Why are my messages deleting theirselves? Last week I had all my messages from that whole week and now this week it only keeps maybe two days and they start disappearing.
How do you activate speaker phone? I read on yahoo answers that it's just the P key but when I press that it asks me if I want to add . to speed dial. Please help
I am sure this is something very basic, however an icon of my browser has started showing on my hone screen, with a '1' in front of it. Exactly as if I had a bbm message except a browser, not a smiley face.
I bought a blackberry 8110 from ebay, everything with the phone looks ok but it cuts off and reloads during calls. I updated the software from version 4.2 to 4.5, but the problem wasn't solved. Now I'm thinking its the battery but I need your opinion before I buy another battery.
I bought a Blackberry Pearl recently. When i text message i press the "shift key" to turn the letter im typing into a capital. But i noticed, or can't find a way to keep my letters constantly in Capital.
For example, if i want to type, "I WANT ALL MY LETTERS CAPITAL!" i seem to have to press the "shift key" button for each individual letter! is there any way around this, where i could press some "shift something key" to where my typing remains in CAPITAL until i repress this "shift something key"??
