I am sure this is something very basic, however an icon of my browser has started showing on my hone screen, with a '1' in front of it. Exactly as if I had a bbm message except a browser, not a smiley face.

There is an icon on the right hand side of my screen directly below my battery symbol.it is a circle, with a glowing line going through it from top right to bottom left.I have no idea where this icon came from and what it means, OR how to get rid of it! Anybody?

Can you give me step by step instructions on how to get them back? i try with (Resend service books, or options > advanced options > host routing tables > Register Now) but nothing work. i still cant find browser, but before it worked ok
I am having trouble with my SMS messages. I get a notification near the top of my screen but cannot access the actual message Nothing appears by the envelope icon.

View 8 Replies View RelatedIn 2009 my husband bought me a brand new Blackberry Pearl 8100 from the internet (he can't remember exactly where from). I put my existing O2 sim in it, expecting to be able to access the internet/emails, but neither were available to me. A quick call to O2 cleared that one up - my sim was Pay & Go and at that time, O2 were not doing Blackberry web & email on Pay & Go. I used it as a phone for a bit, got peeved (wanted internet and emails!) and bought a Samsung Tocco lite which I have been using up until last week when I found out that, since last July, O2 were now doing Blackberry internet on Pay & Go. So, I excitedly purchase a bolt on from O2, shove my sim in my lovely Blackberry Pearl, get excited when I see the new icons for Facebook and Google etc... and then I realise that there is no browser option. No globe icon, nothing. The only way I can see a browser icon is if I press the menu key and select 'Switch Application'. The 'phone then says 'requesting', then offers me an option to sign up for Yahoo Messenger. If I hit the 'back' button, the screen goes blank. If I accept 'download', I get: 'Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support Yahoo'.
I have set up my emails and they work fine. If I click on links in emails, I just get a blank screen.
I have spoken to O2 who have said that 'everything is fine their end' and there is no reason why I can't find a browser icon. They told me to check out the latest Blackberry download so my 'phone is updated. So, I have installed what I believe to be the latest version but that has had no effect whatsoever.
A battery pull (well, about a hundred of them actually..) has also had no effect).
I cannot set up my email because it promps me to put in a password that I should have got from Blackberry also I have no internet browser icon so cannot get on the net

I go through the steps listed and it looks like the contents are being coppied but when I go to the Contacts list it shows no contents. I do not know if I did something wrong or the firm ware has gone south. I have taken the battery out and then replaced it trying to restore it to factory setting but that did not seem to work. I am running V4.5.0.182

1. In the phone application, press the Menu key.
2. Click Options.
3. Click General Options.
4. Change the Default Call Volume field.
5. Press the Menu key.
6. Click Save.
Step 1 no prob
Step 2, there is no Options to "Click"
Had to Click "Setting" then Click "Options"
Step 3, couldn't find "General Options" option!
When I have a missed call, the LED flashes red and the only way I can turn it off is to turn my BB off and on again. Is there some other way to accomplish this?

I turn them back on or just make a call to restore the connection but they turn off in about 10 seconds.I found this post below: radio keeps turning itself off which describes a similar issue. There hadn't been any posts on it since last year so I didn't know if there was any updates on the issue or if it still signified that it was a hardware issue with the phone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought a Blackberry Pearl recently. When i text message i press the "shift key" to turn the letter im typing into a capital. But i noticed, or can't find a way to keep my letters constantly in Capital.
For example, if i want to type, "I WANT ALL MY LETTERS CAPITAL!" i seem to have to press the "shift key" button for each individual letter! is there any way around this, where i could press some "shift something key" to where my typing remains in CAPITAL until i repress this "shift something key"??

Whenever I open ANY email, it gives me a message saying "More available". I have to choose the "More" or "More all" option from the menu key in order to get my email text. The option of "Auto more" in General settings is turned ON. What is the fix to this issue? It never used to happen, then all of a sudden it's there.

View 7 Replies View RelatedOK I have checked other threads and havent found a solution...it could be that there isn't one but somehow I am optimistic. Saturday night my phone worked fine. I go to bed wake up and my scroll ball wont click. It scrolls fine but does not select when pressed. I took it to Verizon, they claim water damage. I haven't dropped it in water or anything like that so I am not sure how that's possible. They replaced my trackball and it still doesn't work. Any additional ideas? I can go the Asurion and replace it but don't really want to do that for something as minute as this.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have inherited an 8110 which so far I am very happy with. apart from one small thing. The clock doesn't show the correct time. It does not update minute by minute as a 'normal' timepiece would. If I go into the settings for alarm or date/time then exit the clock is updated. but it will not update again until I do this again.This morning when I woke up for work it was showing 10.50pm last night.
