View 2 Replies View RelatedI used the Ovi suite to install the free maps on my E72 which work great but the software itself is very poorly written, too many bugs and problems so i would like to uninstall it and use the PC suite instead. can I now update my phone using the PC suite with it's updater software or do I have to now rely on the Ovi suite.
The reason I ask instead of having two pieces of software is i want to a Vista/XP (two machines) clean install followed by a Ghost DVD so the smaller image the better (plus i dont like to have **bleep** installed on my machine:-)
I want is to download the latest software for my E52 (no disk with purchase) and I cannot find the download button. I've been taken through connecting my phone with my Mac but that's as far as it goes.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed ovi-suite on my windows XP laptop and tried to connect my X6 using bluetooth. I was able to punch in passcode on my X6. Then ovi suite simply won't continue recognizing my x6. I do see my laptop been paired in my X6, but ovi-suite simply won't continue to next step. After a while of "searching" ovi suite simply shows an error and the process continues. So how do I connect x6 to my PC with bluetooth?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI use the phone with a MAC via Bluetooth and on my work with a Windows XP and PC Suite connected to Outlook 2007. It synchronizes wel,l everything comes in via the XP. But only once a day? A second sync says phone is not idle. Even if I force it. Strange enough the phone is always connected via Bluetooth and if I get a call I can see it on my XP. So bluetooth connection works well. But whatever I try I can only sync once.On the MAC it always works so it's not the phone I think. For the rest I have no issues with the E72 at all. Only GPS without data connection doesn't work. I have seen other remarks on this so I guess can't use it without a data subscription.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy E72 is navigating fine with turn-by-turn voice instructions with spoken street names and street-level views of cities on the several continents from maps I had previously downloaded. All seems very fine. But Ovi Suite is giving me the bad news that it "Cannot find maps or voice guidance files on your device."
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have no problems with using the 5230 as a tethered device when connected with USB using Ovi Suite. However, when trying the same when the 5230 is connected via bluetooth Ovi Suite tells me that the "device is not connected" (or similar). It is connected - I can transfer photos, read SMS, send SMS, install apps etc etc under bluetooth. It just won't allow me to use it as a modem. I appreciate that using bluetooth to tether is not ideal, but there are sometimes when I am out and about with my netbook where I might not have the USB cable around.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI am having problems syncing a Nokia E71 with a PC running Vista. The two sync just fine via USB cable. And I appear to have successfully paired them via Bluetooth. However, when I try to sync over Bluetooth, I get
- two requests on the E71 to accept a connection from the PC - both of which I accept
- a long wait - around 2-3 minutes
- another request on the E71 to accept a connection from the PC, which I also accept
- another 1-2 minute wait
- a message appearing on the PC saying "The connection between the PC and the phone failed, error code 0x80044403.I can get both the PC and the E71 to transfer files with other devices over Bluetooth. And I can see the E71 as a Bluetooth device from Windows Explorer on the PC. Though when I double-click on it, I can't browse the content. The PC is running Vista Service Pack 1.The Bluetooth hardware is an HP integrated modeul with Bluetooth 2.0 Wireless, manufactured by Broadcom. The Driver date is 19/06/2007 and the Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator. The E71 is running the -400 firmware, freshly updated.
When updating my E63 contacts, calendar etc. uUsing PC-Suite via Bluetooth, every update asks the phone "Accept connection request from PC?" This doesn't occur when using a cable connection but is a real nuisance when using Bluetooth. Any way of automatically accepting the connection request?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy old 5310 had no problems connecting through bluetooth or cable to my PC. Now I updated to a X6 and nothing but issues connecting. The bluetooth works sometimes, when it feels like it, when it doesn't work and I disable bluetooth on the phone, I can't enable it again, it just says something along the lines it can't execute bluetooth operation. First time I experienced it, I gave up and a little later I tried again, bluetooth enabled as normal and immediately connected and worked as normal.
Then I try to connect through USB cable, on which it only tries to find drivers (which it used to have when I first got the phone) and eventually I get a message the phone is still transferring files (which it isn't) and I need to enable PC Suite mode while that's what it's on. I think there's something very wrong with the software.
PI know definitely that n97 have bluetooth and modem.I have one but i cant find them.

I recently connected my Nokia 5800 to my bluetooth connection on my Windows 7 Ultimate pc of which downloads and installs the drivers from Windows Update. This works fine for the most part but i am left with 3x Bluetooth Peripher Device enteries showing in Device Manager and a Yellow Exclimation Mark located next to the Nokia 5800 device icon in Device and Printers but i cannot seem to find out what drivers are missing, even Windows Update find nothing for these entries.I have the latest version of Ovi Suite installed on my computer but this does not install any bluetooth drivers, I have the latest drivers for my Trust 16008 Bluetooth dongle but these 3x Bluetooth Peripheral Device enteries only appear when i connect the Nokia 5800 to bluetooth. I have also tried to locate the drivers from the support CD but this fails also.
I have tried looking on Nokia Discussions for a solution but it seems i am not the only person that is having the problem with these enteries in Device Manager and no drivers for them.It seems that Nokia has not released the relevent drivers therefor full Bluetooth Driver installation is incomplete.I would like Nokia to fully rectify the situation and explain why these drivers are missing and if they will be released.

View 6 Replies View RelatedAll I've purchased an E72 about 2 weeks ago and am still using it in 'trial' mode using my second line. I have the following problems. Can someone assist please:
1. On the E72 phone one can edit the Contacts field titles (eg change the "Postal/Zip" field to "Postcode", or add fields like "Mobile 2". However using the PC Suite on the PC, none of these changes show up. Eg, I added a "Title" prefix on the phone but it doesn't show upon the PC.
2. The Contacts fileds seem not to be 'smart' enough, ie if one edits/changes the fields on the phone, then on the PC Suite it gets tabulated in the wrong column. So, editing the filed titles is really pointless, infact it is counter productive!
3. To search CONTACTS, only the First Name, Last Name and Company fields are searchable. Other fields like Phone No, City, etc cannot be the basis of a search. True?
4. The long-press "Contacts" key does not go to the "New Contact". It works for other functions, but not New Contact. Anyone know how to resolve this ?
5. For Calendar entries, a few fours AFTER the alarm time set, I get a pop-up message saying something like .... some alarm events were passed due to "time change". What time change is it talking about? Weird thing is I then miss the appointment. so what use is this calendar thing?
6. The application shortcuts on the standby screen (those little icon shortcuts) ... is it possible to have more, say on 2 lines?
7. The E72 seems to be only able to keep call logs for a max of 30 days? Anyway to increase that? similarly, can I keep SMSs for longer periods?
My Palm Treo 600 (used since 2003), was able to do all the above things ... but 6 years later, Nokia's "for the serious business user" phone cannot do most of the simple things a smartphone should be able to do.
I like the phone, especially its slim form factor and all the other bells & whistles (video, movies, music works well) but I DO WANT a phone that can integrate with my PC.There ought to be laws out there on the use of the term 'smartphone'
I have just bought Nokia N86 8MP. I have installed OVI Suit on my laptop. But I amd not able to configure my phone with OVI suite. After connecting my cell with my laptop I select PC Suit USB Mode from my cell phone. On the second step (Connect Device) of OVI Suite configuration the name of my phone is visible but when I select, A popup message is displayed that This device is not in PC Suite USB mode. And the 'Next' button is greyed out.

While I'm at work I use the data cable normally to connect the phone to pc suite and I use pc suite to respond to sms etc. However I notice the E52 also charges on usb. I love this feature but I wanted to ask will this decrease the battery life or shorten its life span. I would like sure answers if possible and not just hunches as I really dont want to damage the battery.
