Nokia Applications :: Installing .tar And .jar Files?
Mar 22, 2012I am trying to install .jar and .tar files onto my Nokia N8 from my pc but failing miserably. I am connecting my device via a usb cable, when the pc recognises the device it brings up the phone's folders (mass memory, phone memory, and media card) When I 'drag' the files from the folder in which they are contained in my pc to the phone I cannot 'drop' them as I get that pesky red circle with the red line through it.

Jan 25, 2012i am unable to install many Qt apps from the nokia store. When ever i try to install Qt apps on my phone, it ask me for installing the package but the installation stops during ' preparing installation' and does not go through ' finalising installation'. After this i does find the nokia smart installer icon but when i click on it, it says ' no installation pending'. I can also find the application in application manager but can't find its icon anywhere. Some Qt apps does install properly but many including wellness diary, nokia drop, etc doesn't install. My device is Nokia X6 16 GB and i have latest firmware and all Qt components installed on my device.

Jan 24, 2012When i try to install Qt apps from Nokia store, it shows installing the app and nokia installer packages but at the end during "preparing installation", installation stops without "finalising installation" and the Qt app doesn't get installed in the phone. My device is Nokia X6-00, a Symbian^1 S60v5 device with the latest firmware. All Qt components are already installed.

I've updated all software and there's enough space on the phone for the application(s) I wanted to install, yet it doesn't work.When I've purchased an application, it goes to install it, only to stop installing it after about 3-5 seconds without giving any notice or a reason why. Mar 25, 2010When i reboot my phone after I installed a few upgrades to some applications, as usual.I was asked to reboot.It restarted the phone, however does not completly reboot back to my home screen. Instead, it is stuck on my Network Provider's screen...(o2 Welcome Screen)Im guessing it is still finishing the installation of some upgrades, but it has been like this all night.
I did a baterry pull, and took out the SIM Card and memory card, however it still seems to be stuck on the Network Provider's home screen.I had this issue last time, and I was advised from another forum to turn off the phone from the Off button on the phone, pull the battery and memory card, reinsert the battery without the memory card.This worked perfectly last time. Now, while the welcome screen is showing, if i press the off button, it will "Verify Security Software" and turn off.
