Every time I try to install a java application on my wife's k800i I get the message 'operation failed'. I am sure I am doing things correctly because I do the same thing with my c902 and it works fine. Any ideas?
View 4 RepliesI downloaded a couple of apps from Sony Ericsson's web site including a game that I used to play on my Sony Ericsson Z520a phone previoulsy, called "Quadrapop." It's a free Java application, and there was a version specific to the Satio, which is also an S60 5 edition phone, just like the 5800 which I am trying to install on.
When I try installing it, I get a message, "Certificate error" followed by something to the effect of, "contact supplier" I have been able to install some other Satio Java apps on my 5800, but not Quadrapop. Is there anything I can do do get around this issue?
my k800i phone dropped dead and i have been trying to fix it.When i start the phone it blink red from ir port and the screen turns white. I have been trying to flash but cant really figure out how to do it exactly and find the files to do it. I updated the CID to 52 instead of 49 with XS++.
So if someone could Help me i would be grateful!

have recently been having few issues with my phone, and noticed im still running the original firmware R1CB001.Installed SEUS, follows all intrustions, gets to where it has progress line for installing the firmware.the update starts but after about 30secs, i hear the sound from my pc as if ive just unplugged something from usb and then few seconds later as if something has been plugged back into usb, then the bar just jumps to the enter and says update complete.Turned phone on again, checks software version and still shows as being same as it originally was.Does anyone have any ideas on whats happening and any possible fix?

The phone can receive incoming calls, but that is it. I have tried the update service. Result - Your phone has the latest software update.
Using the SE PC Suite, and connecting by using the USB cable, a list of folders is displayed which are empty. Using the "Phone Repair" from the SE PC Suite, and after following the instructions, the only result is - "Update Failed". Please can someone assist me in sorting out this problem?
For a long time AT&T nee Cingular has locked me out of their MEdia (AT&T) Mall, and prevented me from running desirable apps by signing them with a "secret" certificate only available on their branded phones.Well, thanks to a2uploader and the recent acquisition of a locked AT&T phone I have been able to snag these Preferred and Trusted Java signing root certificates. As well as the entire AT&T customization package, which gives me a good template to play with my own if I so desire. (As an aside, I can also now download from the AT&T Mall using a Firefox add-on which allows me to spoof a particular supported phone's User-Agent string.)I digress. When I sent these certificates to my unlocked K850i it places them in the Trusted Cert store rather than the Java Cert store and the apps still have problems running and fail to install using the signed JAD. I have not tried it, but I assume my K790a will behave the same way.Now, the XML which defines the AT&T customizations references the certificates as well as the proper store location for them. Is this my only way to force a cert into the Java store? This also leads into how can I install client certificates?

I tried taking the mem.card off & changing the batt but it didn't solve the prob.I used the master reset(all setting) but it wasn't successful because at the midst of the procedure, it turned off.Now whenever I turn it on, it only says "please wait" (probably because of the reset I did) but it would not continue even if I wait for a couple of hours.I tried updating it with Update Service but it failed. I tried several times and same things happened.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Sony Ericsson K800i and until two days ago it was working just fine. But then it displayed the "No access to network." message and I couldn't make or receive any calls. I tried to restart the phone, to take off the battery, to reset the settings, to set a network manually etc etc but still nothing.
And while it is searching for a network, it is draining the battery too. It was fully charged this morning, and now it's only 25%. Normally, it should take 3-4 days to reach that power level. I should mention now that I'm in roaming in Munich, Germany since three weeks, and my phone bills are payed on time, so it shouldn't be an mobile operator problem.
My phone (K800i) has displayed no network coverage for almost a month now, I have tried network search auto and manual, and I have tried my SIM in other phones and it works fine. Does anyone have any suggestions because I am fed up of this phone I am having to use while I try and fix my own.

I've been searching about these drivers, I did find some great drivers from modders like number 1 and more. but, my concern is, I still don't know the specs of the phone i'll be getting since the owner barely uses the phone and has no idea about modding. I'll post additional info once I get the phone. I would like to improve the camera (for pictures), video (can we upgrade it to QVGA instead? and 35fps if its good), i also would like to change the UI to mimic the k810i's and lastly the sound driver so that it would be louder. If there's anything better to modd for my phone, would really appreciate.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI took a K800i phone apart to fix it, achieved the fix, and put it back together again.Now the power button (not the rubber bit you touch but the tiny button underneath it) has well gone!I can't figure out whether it's fallen out, snapped off, been pressed to hard into the unit or what.Thing is, this is the 4th time I've managed to do this with 4 separate phones and want to learn how to (a) avoid the problem and (b) ideally fix it.Can anyone give me any advice on this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm currently having a problem most of the time whenever I move the joystick downwards on my K800i phone, instead of scrolling down a menu, my phone thinks I've pressed select and pushed the joystick button. This is particularly irritating especially when I'm writing texts. Using the predictive text option and when I'm trying to scroll down in my address book to either call someone and my phone thinks I've pressed 'select' and calls somebody, I didn't want to call and sending somebody a text. In the meantime, I'm just moving the joystick upwards whenever I have to scroll through menus.
I've had my phone for about 2 1/2 years now and it was perfectly fine until now. I also have another minor problem which occurs rarely. Sometimes my phone is locked and when I get a text, The phone display stays dark and the phone doesn't function for me to unlock the phone. I have to open and shut the camera shutter for the display to light up the display and for the phone to function.
How can I disable the internet connection since the phone switches onto internet at random when I do not what to go on line and I am getting unneccessary charges

They would just pile up in the outbox, queing to be sent but would never leave. My phone works fine for everything else apart from this. I have updated to the latest Sony Erricson software and made sure the service number (where the phone relays texts or something) was correct.
View 1 Replies View Relatedit really strange but my k800i {R8BF003, CID 53} has gone crazy ! in the standby mode the DISPLAY will start blinking, but at very very less brightness. its visible when the lights in the room are off. this bugs be cuz its draining the battery too quick PS : Tried removing all patches re-flashing main , fs but still no luck. the phone was never dropped or had any sudden impact too.
