Aug 16, 2010My phone 5800 xpress music is getting off very often when I press camera key, or sometimes switching on the keypad lock key Please help me to resolve this problem. Just I bought 4 days back this new mobile.

Jan 9, 2010I've been using my 5800 for about six months but now I'm having trouble using the phone as a modem connected to my laptop via USB. I can get an internet through the handset on its own, but when I try to connect through PC Suite, i get a message saying 'Failed to establish a connection'.The modem service USED to work; first time, every time. The only thing I can think of is that it stopped working after I updated the phone software. Has anyone else encountered this & know of a fix? I'd prefer a quick solution before I start with backing everything up, factory resets etc.I'm using the latest phone software & PC Suite, Windows Vista & I'm on the Vodafone UK network. Like I said, it all USED to work perfectly.

Jul 26, 2010I didn't find a topic to help but basically my problem isthat using the ovi map application causes a restrart on my phone.The application loads but a minute through it causes the phone to restars or to even turn off.Nokia supports sent me an Email with instruction to install the ovi map on the phone.The problem still persists like before.I have no data plan and I used the internet to load the map. I apprciate any help you can offer.

Jan 5, 2010I have installed letest version of OVI suite and OVI player.I connected my phone to PC in 'Media Transfer' mode but OVI player is not able to detect my phone. Even when I connect my phone in 'PC Suite' mode, OVI suite is not able tranfer or read tarcks from my 5800. In PC suite mode I can use Windows Media Player 11 to transfer music. I have tried this on two different systems having Windows XP SP3 and Windows Vista Home Premium, but OVI player is not able to detect my phone.

Apr 28, 2010The contacts stored on my phone's memory are not being displayed. If I change the "Contacts to display" option to phone memory and sim memory, or sim memory alone for that matter, it displays all the contacts stored on my sim, however no contacts are displayed when I choose phone memory alone. I have tried copying all my contacts from sim back to the phone and still nothing. It's weird because when I do a memory details check on my phone's memory, it's saying that there are 83 contacts stored. Even if I try to manually add a new contact to the phone memory, it STILL is not showing up in my contacts list. I have had this phone about 5 months now and this problem only occurred about a week ago, before that everything was working just fine.

Feb 8, 2010I've downloaded the new ovi maps 3.3. But I have no actual maps on it, I just see empty space and have all the options for GPS etc. Now I want to use Map loader. It keeps telling me "Waiting for phone' fine I plug in my phone with usb cable, take pc suite, and it just keeps on going "waiting for phone", now when I choose Mass storage mode, I get an error telling me " You have atleast 1 phone connected in mass storage mode, please reconnect your phone and select pc suite" I do that and yep. Jun 29, 2010I am using Mail for Exchange, my company forces the phone to lock after 10 minutes of idle time.When I get a phonecall when the phone is locked, there is no way that you can have access tto normal phonecall functions as <Mute> and <Speaker> during a phonecall. And you can not unlock without breaking the call.Yes when you receive a call ther is a green <answer> and a blue <unlock> slider. Howvever when swipng the <unlock> you can only choose between <answer> and <reject> and there is [Option] that gives you access to <answer> or <reject> aswell.In other words no access to phone functions, No way you can activate the speaker on the phone when you were called while the phone was locked. This is quite useless and in my opinion a design flaw.

Feb 10, 2010Since updating to 40.0.005 my phone turns itself off frequently. It never did this before.I thought it might be loose battery connections so put in some thin card etc but no help. Seems to be fine when on my desk during the day, but as soon as its put into my pocket and walked about then many times it switches off. Am getting no help from Nokia Care. I'm looking at buying the Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition Unlocked Phone and have a couple of questions.
If I don't activate the phone immediately with a service provider,
- will I still be able to have full access to the internet and email whenever a Wi-Fi network is available?
- and, will I also have full access to the GPS navigation facilities of the unit?
Does the 5800 Navigation model lack any features that are available with the 5800 XpressMusic model? The 'compare' function at the Nokia website seems to show the exact same specs for both models.

I stuck in the MicroSD card from my old phone which had all my music on it but the new phone won't play any tracks because the license is wrong.Do I need to redownload to my PC all the music I already have?Or can I delete all the tracks from my new 5800 and just copy from my PC to it and it will recognise the old tracks I downloaded for my old 5800? Aug 20, 2010Got a 5800 express music and i must say i am rather disappointing, not only have i never been a fan of nokia but this sort of proves the point really.it is unfortunately out of warrant and i have seen a few cases of the problem on Google but no solutions.My nokia 5800 is absolutely perfect in every way when it's locked and left alone. but as soon as you start to use it for anything the screen goes funny and the phone restarts. it does this when i text, when I'm on the phone, installing apps, listening to music, using bluetooth. literally anything that uses the phone.I've even tried taking the board out and putting it in my dads 5800 to test whether it was the lcd, digitizer or any other external pieces of hardware.changed battery,tried using different sims,tried using flight mode and no matter what i try the problem persists.any suggestions?
