After I hard resetted my 5800, I can't save received sms to OVI Suite.I can sync only sent sms.In the phone's side of the window, if I select "Received", OVI says 0 (zero), but it let me see all the sms I received.

I'm having major problems transferring my music to my new Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic. I have downloaded all my music onto the Ovi plalyer but when I connect my phone a message pops up on the phone asking me to select USB mode and choose between, 'PC Suite', 'Mass Storage', Image transfer', or media transfer. No matter which one I choose I can see no option on the Ovi player where |I can sync the phone and transfer my music to it (as per my ipod and itunes which is pretty straightforward!)
I'm assuming I can actually do this through Ovi player?I have managed to transfer my music onto the phone from windows media player but it saves into a 'music' folder and not onto the music player. The only way I can access this music is by going into 'applications' from the main menu, then, 'file manager' then 'memory card' then the music is listed but it's driving me mental by not being on the proper music player.
I installed Nokia Messaging on my 5800 and it was working fine for a month or so. Now it has simply stopped syncing. WiFi / TMobile connection does not matter. Even if I click on "Send/Receive" it does not connect. (the connection indicator at the top-right is always grey - indicating no connection.)
So I deleted my GMail account and recreated it on the email.nokia.com website. Now when I try to send/receive it atleast shows the green 'connecting' icon and then goes back to grey. If I look at the connection info it says 'sync failed'. The logs show 'Sync stopped'.
Was using PC Suite 1.1 without a problem, then upgraded to Ovi Suite 2.1 and now can't sync Calender. Everything looks as though it's going fine... the task bar says syncing and gets right to the end, before displaying error code Sync Cancelled 80043c93

Why is taking so long to sync what must only be a few KB of data? I have less than 100 contacts in there.
It's a joke...and another reason I'm never buying another Nokia again as long as I live.
I have 5800 Xpressmusic on Orange pay as you go.Software version is 30.0.011.There is an update available which I have downloaded and installed, but after installation I get a message that update was not compatible.any ideas?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI can't install the new ovi maps version 3.03 on my 5800XM (firmware version 31.0.101). installation is always aborted by "unknown error: -5", when i retry installation my mobile says 3.03 is already installed, but when i check the version-number it shows 3.01 (maybe it's interesting that nokia maps updater didn't find any updates.)

Both on Virgin Mobile. 1 has been updated to v40.0.005 but mine is using V31.0.101, i like the look of the new version but why cant i download the new software. i have tried using *#0000# and downloading the so called up-to date version straight from the Nokia support site but it wont give me the new version.please help.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIn an effort to "clean out" the 80 MB phone memory of my XpressMusic 5800, I think I deleted some files I should not have. For example, I thought I would delete the Skyfire and Weatherbug folders from C:, then reinstall it on the 8GB E: drive later. So I did this, then rebooted. The phone seems to be working fine, and Icons for Skyfire and Weatherbug are gone.But now I can't re-load them on the phone. I get to the Ovi store find using the default web browser, but the "Download" bar is grayed out, for both programs. I CAN download programs I have not downloaded before, but I want Skyfire and WBug. It seems either the phone or website is deciding "you already have this program, so you can't download it again". Anyone know how I can fix this?? I am using the latest S60 OS (40.2.005). Phone seems otherwise to be working fine. Any help appreciated.

When someone rings me and the phone is unlocked I can answer the call ok, but when the phone is locked and someone rings it says answer in green and unlock is blue, I am unable to answer the call until I unlock the the phone then tapping answer, answers the call, how can I answer the call without unlocking the phone?

I have tried removing it with windows explorer, nokia application manager but neither worked. I tried taking the memory card out and doing all of the above but nothing worked. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a nokia 5800 Nav. Edition. Here is step by step issues I am facing with the phone:
1. Whenever I go to OVI Store it gives me a message saying that an Update is available and I need to install it before going forward. So when I click on Update button it takes me to several screens and finally Outpus saying that "Unable to start the operation. Installer is in use already."
2. In order to solve this issue I went through some of the discussion and found out that in order to get this problem addressed i need to follow the steps to Open the file manager and remove the Memory Card followed by Removing the Card physically.
3. This is when I realized that for some reason my memory card is stuck inside, so when I press it the dock seems to be releasing it but it refuses to come out completely.
4. Despite removing the memory card and undocking it I am still not able to apply the update to Ovi Store but this time the error message is different. Here are the steps:
a. I go to file manager and remove the memory card.
b. I undock it physically.
c. I start the Ovi Store and click on Update.
d. It goes through several screens as above and finally asks for Installation (this did not happen when Mem card was in).
e. It starts the installer but then aborts it saying "Update Error".
i have a nokia 5800 xpress music latest firmware (40) and everything, but latley when i get a normal SMS from someone (i know the person gotten messages from him before), it tells me Unable to open: message format not supported. however the message shows in the in-box (the first few words or so, after the senders name) and if i go to a previous text and then click the arrow (or the pound key) that takes me to the next text, it'll open fine.. it kinda **bleep** me off i tried restarting the phone didn't help

I have nokia 5800, when i plug my headphones in my phone i can only hear in the right ear but the left ear doesn't work. If i plug only the headphones without the remote it works on both ears. I can't figure out how to make the remote work in the left ear, is it a phone setting problem or is the remote broken? Anyone else having this problem? I need the remote because if i only use the headphones without it it would be too short and won't reach my ear ......
