I just updated my 5800 phone with the new software, v40.2.005.Now the phone and contact buttons at the bottom of screen just doesn't work, nothing happens when I press them. Any suggestions?

The camera doesn't work. I open the camera application with both methods (button on side and icon in apps) but it does the red dot thing in the corner for about 4-6 seconds then disappears and applications tells me the app is running. I try to go to the app but it wont go on it.
Problem 2:
The green key, dialler and contacts icon on the home screen do not work at all. I have no way of opening my dialler as there is no option for it.
I updated my firmware to v40.0.005 last week. Please be aware the problems were both there BEFORE i made the update and are still here after the update.Is there any way of doing this without soft/hard resetting. Also, does soft/hard reset mean you lose the data in an app (eg your high scores in a game like bagatelle)?
Both PC Suite and Ovi were working perfectly until I updated my Ovi to the latest version early this week. Now, whenever I start Ovi, it will crash after 15-20sec if my 5800 is connected ( either bluetooth or USB ). If the phone is not connected, Ovi will stay without any issue. Btw, PC Suite is working fine. Here is the error message pop-up on the screen when Ovi crashed.
"Nokia Ovi Suite 2 has stopped working". A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available". No solution is actually provided and the only option is to "Close program". Here is the windows error log :

This is what i did so far :
i) Uninstall Ovi , re-download from Nokia web, reinstall : Failed to fix
ii) Uninstall Ovi and all Nokia related software , clean Registry and reinstall Ovi Suite : Failed to fix
iii) Format and reinstall Windows 7 ( Yes, I did !!! ) , re-download and reinstall Ovi Suite : Failed to fix
I strongly believe this error is caused by the latest version of Ovi Suite, as i have another laptop which running with the older version of Ovi Suite works perfectly with my 5800. I have uninstall the Ovi Suite, I will only try it again when next release is available.
I had a virus in my PC a few days ago, actually a Trijan, which Symantec was able to remove without requiring my Laptop to be formatted.But after that Camera stopped working, neither from hardware button, nor from applications. I reinstalled the firmware 30.xx and it started working again.
Now again Camera has stopped working, and also i have noticed, that when i click the arrow to go to next message, it goes to some months old messages randomly.DO i need some sort of formatting ? Will only hard reset work ? Is it some sort of virus on my cell?
As the title says - updated the phone and now have no option for full screen qwerty input! Everything else working fine - just lost one of the input options, handwriting, mini-qwerty or keypad are all that are left. Annoying as qwertry input was one of the best things about it - handwriting sucks, mini-qwerty is too small and if I wanted an alpha-numeric keypad I would have got a smaller, 'traditional' phone.

I tried to use it through the original Camera app and I didn't even have the option of the "selfie" or front camera. I reset the phone twice, deleted everything, restarted it several times and still nothing. I've tried to research the problem but found only people whose rear cam didn't work.

I know this isn't the first time someone start a discussion to talk about this problem, but I still couldn't find a solution in the others discussions. Since I updated my Sony Ericson Neo V MT11a to the new android 4.0 through PC Companion, I'm not able to switch to use front camera or use the face unlock. It just seems that there's no front camera on my phone. I've already tried Software Repair twice and nothing. I'm not the only one with the problem as I could see on my surfing.

I was testing the Camera, the rear one worked perfectly fine, however when i pressed the switch button the front facing camera shutter freezed and started flickering. View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm experiencing some weird problems on my 5800 xm. When I unlock the phone after it has been locked for a while the touch screen doesn't react at all. But if I lock and unlock again, it starts to work. Not a very big problem but kinda annoying. The other problem is that none of the physical buttons are working, except for the on/off button.
All those problems came at once and from no where. I hadn't installed or updated anything recently when it came. I've tried to update to v.50 and I've tried a "soft reset" but it isn't working. I can't do a hard reset since the buttons used for doing aren't working.
It feels like it's some kind of software problem rather than a hardware problem or what do you think? Anything I can try before going back to the store?

View 9 Replies View RelatedJust updated to new firmware 51.0.006 (RM-356) Nokia 5800 and I dont know whether I am just thinking this but the phone seems faster now in operation (maybe with the firmware update it cleared cahes and whatnot maybe thats all it is) - one of the things that was supposed to be changed in the new firmware is browser changes, but I cannot seem to see any diffrerence the layout still looks the same to me. improved mail for exchange dont affect me because i dont use it, improved video call dont affect me because I dont use that, but they did list improved browser and improved performance so thats good anyway. Anyone else tried the new 51.0.006 (RM-356) yet?

A strange thing happened. I had been coping with Nokia somehow without shifting to another phone for 5 years now. Today i updated to belle refersh, now my tocuh screen doesnt register my touch in certain areas, i cant pull down the notification bar, cant scroll vertially (horizontal scroll works with jerks), the icon i click on doesnt get selected, but one above or on the side of it gets selected...pretty strange and annoying...what i did....removed memory card, restarted, checked...same thing...clean formatted the phone (without memory card...still doesnt work).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have problem with my X6-00 16GB primary camera. When I turn camera on, screen stays black, only this focusing white box and other symbols are visible on screen. But no picture. When I push "take picture button", then focusing box starts blinking and stays like this, until camera goes standby mode. Secondary camera, in front of the phone is working fine. Also I have a Flashlight program (Brightlight v1.0) on my phone and it doesn't turn camera flash on, like it should be.
I gave my phone to friend who reset phone to the factory settings. After that camera worked for a while, but one day it was again black. I have done a couple of times software reinstall with nokia ovi suite on my computer. After that camera works couple of days or only couple of hours and then goes black again. Software version is the newest for that phone, v32.0.002.

I updated my 5800 few days ago, and then I found out that the map on my phone said I can't get to the main road because there's nothing connected between them? If u check the map, at the address: bangkok HuaMak Ramkhamhaeng 24 Yaek 34, compare with google maps on same location, you will see that according to the maps on the phone there's no way out. Where's al these river's been gone? Yesterday, I went to the center of Bangkok to exchange some money, when I came back by doing boat, the river on my location is gone. I'm left with the other options including the mini QWERTY but it's not the same. Tried turning off and taking the battery out but it didn't work. Any ideas? I'm having difficulty updating my nokia N97 software to the latest version; as the current one on my phone is version v20.0.019. My phone's screen keeps blacking out and to restore the front screen applications I have to keep switching it off then back on again. I've been to the nokia dealer with this issue but they sent me back home and suggested I keep trying the update. I've been trying this but the nokia software installer in my computer suggests it cannot find my mobile when connected through the usb cable (even though my pc detects the connection). I dont know what I'm doing wrong, can someone suggest something else and also what is the latest version I can get?
