Nokia :: Unable To Install Themes On 5230
Jul 15, 2010Ever since I updated my Nokia 5230 software from version 10.xxx to 12.xxx to 20.xxx and yesterday to 21.xxx, I'm have not been able to install any sis/sisx theme onto my mobile and have also checked the application installation settings. Its goes through the entire installation and finally reads "No Access Unable to Install" finally when i remove the memory card and put it onto my frnd's Nokia E71 / 72 and install it to the memory it goes through and i'm able to use the theme. I've downloaded these themes from non-Nokia sources but expect support as both my frnd and me updated software yesterday to 21.xxxx for my 5230 and 31.xxx for his E72. He able to install themes but i'm not. Enclosed is the snap shot of the same. Couldn't get better than this Pls help expecting and early reply

Jan 17, 2010I recently bought an 5230 and I'm having trouble installing WRT apps on it. I wrote a small HelloWRT app (the one from Nokia Library) using Aptana, I copy it on the microSD card using the supplied data cable. When I try to install using the File Manager, it asks me if I want to install, I choose install, and then nothing happens. My phone's software is up to date. Any clues on what's wrong?

From what I can see on the Ovi Store, you can download it by the "Send to mobile" button.Is there a way to download it into PC first and install from PC into the phone? Jun 15, 2011I've had the phone since January and I have had no problems. Recently I went to install some new apps. Everything appears normal except it does not ask me where I want to install the app. Instead it just stops the whole process and does nothing. I have plenty of memory. I did a Soft reset I believe going to settings>phone>phone management > factory settings... I used the code 12345. That did not solve the problem. I tried doing a hard reset using #7370# but the phone kept responding with "request not complete".

Mar 23, 2010I have decided to install Garmin Mobile on my Nokia 5230. I have asked the official Garmin support for informations about Garmin Mobile and Symbiaa S60 v5. They answered that the last version of Garmin Mobile is v5.00.60 and in theory it should almost certain work with S60v5 operating system (the version v5.00.50 should too), but the product is discontinued so they are not 100% sure. They sent me a list where I can still buy Garmin Mobile but I am not sure to spend 100€ because I'm not totaly sure if this will work with Nokia 5230. There's lots of info about Garmin v5.00.40 and v5.00.50 working on Nokia 5800 but no info about Nokia 5230.Is there any Nokia 5230 user on this forum with Garmin Mobile installed? May 20, 2010I'm having a problem when trying to update my Nokia 5230 using the Nokia Suite.Please note; my phone is plugged in, there is an update for my phone as the last time it was updated was when it made manufactured (nov 09). The USB mode is on 'PC suite'. I have downloaded all the latest versions of the Nokia Suite.
When I click 'Update Phone Software", it takes me to the updater. When it comes to the 'Searching for a connected device', it hands for about 1-2 minutes, then says "Unable to find device".

Aug 4, 2010I bought an X6 last week. I'm in Australia, and realized later, after signing a contract for 2 years, that the phone doesn't support Chinese or any European languages. It only comes with English and Philipino. If I get a text in Chinese, it won't display...it just displays squares. Nor can I use the keyboard to input Chinese characters.
Nokia won't provide a solution. They won't supply a software upgrade or any help. The dealers privately tell me I would have to take it to a non-authorized repairer to get a software change or try to find some software elsewhere, maybe a torrent file or from some other untrustworthy software source.

However, after weeks of researching, there seems to be no such function! What's even worst, Nokia (AU) totally removed this description from their X6 specifications 2 week after I bought this phone! I did, however, save a bookmark of the older specs just to serve as evidence that they did mention the X6 had chinese input capabilities.
