I recently bought an 5230 and I'm having trouble installing WRT apps on it. I wrote a small HelloWRT app (the one from Nokia Library) using Aptana, I copy it on the microSD card using the supplied data cable. When I try to install using the File Manager, it asks me if I want to install, I choose install, and then nothing happens. My phone's software is up to date. Any clues on what's wrong?
View 2 RepliesI have installed Nokia Suite twice (after first uninstalling it and removing all the drivers) and Nokia software update once, but neither product can see the phone connected by the USB cable. Windows is able to load some of the drivers, but depending on the time 3 or 4 of the 7 or 8 items windows tries to install fail. ie Nokia N86 USB LCIF fails, Nokia N86 USB Generic fails. Device manager has a flag on all phone related items, except for Nokia N86 USB Phone Parent. During the software installs the software sees a phone and asks for it to be removed before continuing with the install, which I comply with. So the software at least partially sees it. The phone is connected by the Nokia supplied cable directly to the motherboard in PC mode and this is a fresh (1 week old) install of Win 7 64.

I have nokia E5, and i was forced to format phone usig *#7370#, memory card was also formated. So the problem is - how can i re-install previously purchased applications in ovi store?I thought it will be easy way, however it doesn't. Despite the fact that all of my previously purchased apps appeared in "My Stuff" section in Ovi Store applications, i cant download it, they only offer me to buy it again, I tried to solve this problem using pc, i wanted to download apps to pc from ovi store website and then move to phone. But all i can do - send a link to phone, and there i was offered to buy app again. It's just shocking omission of Ovi Store, that repels future purchases.

View 2 Replies View RelatedEver since I updated my Nokia 5230 software from version 10.xxx to 12.xxx to 20.xxx and yesterday to 21.xxx, I'm have not been able to install any sis/sisx theme onto my mobile and have also checked the application installation settings. Its goes through the entire installation and finally reads "No Access Unable to Install" finally when i remove the memory card and put it onto my frnd's Nokia E71 / 72 and install it to the memory it goes through and i'm able to use the theme. I've downloaded these themes from non-Nokia sources but expect support as both my frnd and me updated software yesterday to 21.xxxx for my 5230 and 31.xxx for his E72. He able to install themes but i'm not. Enclosed is the snap shot of the same. Couldn't get better than this Pls help expecting and early reply

From what I can see on the Ovi Store, you can download it by the "Send to mobile" button.Is there a way to download it into PC first and install from PC into the phone? I have tried to remove the older version of maps that was on my phone but instead of being uninstalled, the icon of Ovi Maps was only vanished from the Applications' list without actually being removes from the phone; I can still access it using a shortcut I had made.

I've had the phone since January and I have had no problems. Recently I went to install some new apps. Everything appears normal except it does not ask me where I want to install the app. Instead it just stops the whole process and does nothing. I have plenty of memory. I did a Soft reset I believe going to settings>phone>phone management > factory settings... I used the code 12345. That did not solve the problem. I tried doing a hard reset using #7370# but the phone kept responding with "request not complete".

They answered that the last version of Garmin Mobile is v5.00.60 and in theory it should almost certain work with S60v5 operating system (the version v5.00.50 should too), but the product is discontinued so they are not 100% sure. They sent me a list where I can still buy Garmin Mobile but I am not sure to spend 100€ because I'm not totaly sure if this will work with Nokia 5230. There's lots of info about Garmin v5.00.40 and v5.00.50 working on Nokia 5800 but no info about Nokia 5230.Is there any Nokia 5230 user on this forum with Garmin Mobile installed? My phone is completely working and a SIM card is inserted in it and I can call with it, but when I want to install the update then it says that there is no SIM card. I have tried ejecting the SIM card and inserting it again but it didn't work. Do you know anything that would help?And also somewhy I'm unable to install anything into the phone by USB cable.

But when I began browsing through the Ovi Store and decided to try and download some free apps, I get to the downloading screen but that's as far as I can go; the downloading bar never goes past 0%. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? Is it maybe because I have no internet plan? I've tried to make new screen names and looked up online everywhere on this issue but still can't find an answer.
