Jan 17, 2010I recently bought an 5230 and I'm having trouble installing WRT apps on it. I wrote a small HelloWRT app (the one from Nokia Library) using Aptana, I copy it on the microSD card using the supplied data cable. When I try to install using the File Manager, it asks me if I want to install, I choose install, and then nothing happens. My phone's software is up to date. Any clues on what's wrong?

Jul 6, 2010i recently got a nokia 5230, and i have to give my colpliments to nokia. its an amazing device for the money
but, i have a problem. i used the vodafone sim card i have for the maps, and after some help from the store, i hav managed to get them working. they are fantastic.but here lies the problem: if i use my o2 sim, the maps application refuses to connect, stating a connection failure. however, the web browser works fine.are there any particular setting that i need to make to make the maps app connect when i am using the o2 sim?

Jun 11, 2010I recently got a new Nokia Nuron and I absolutely love it. But when I began browsing through the Ovi Store and decided to try and download some free apps, I get to the downloading screen but that's as far as I can go; the downloading bar never goes past 0%. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? Is it maybe because I have no internet plan? I've tried to make new screen names and looked up online everywhere on this issue but still can't find an answer.

Mar 5, 2010I want to convert a few video clips to play back on my 5230 at the highest possible quality settings. Which container/bitrate/frame rate/aspect ratio would give those results? I know the resolution of the phone is 640x360 but any clips at that resolution are unable to play. I'm experimenting with combinations at the minute but it would be a lot quicker if I could just get a definite answer.Official playback specs are 640x360/??/30fps/?? but no mention of ideal bitrate, aspect ratio or container, ie MP4/3gp etc etc.

Nokia :: Camera Works Random On A 5230 - Tried Reset To Factory Settings
Jun 30, 2010Everything works ok except the built in camera !It is a very strange and unusual behavior , it is not broken but it works at totally random times !i tried everything i could but i did not succeed in finding a right pattern that makes it working all the time.I just have to turn the phone on and off all the time and HOPE that it will work.
It was like this since the beginning but i tought that a new OS update would have fix this problem , unfortunately after the latest OS updates (just done it last week) nothing has changed , The camera just works when it wants to at random times !it has 2 way of acting either i see the red circle on top for few sec and nothing happen
but the camera is active in the task manager .. but i cant kill it (the exit camera has no effect at all !) or it just works straight away ! very werid !What do u suggest that i should do ? Do i have a defective unit ?in fact when it works is ok so it is not the CCD Camera for sure but is more like an OS problem to me.i have also reset the mobile many times to the default settings

May 4, 2010I work nights, and until last year was able to convert BBC Listen Again radio programmer to RealPlayer and listen to them again in the evening when at work with headphones on my N5800XM I used to convert (using iplayer converter) the files, but for some reason the BBC stopped the RealPlayer format and since then I have been unable to listen again to any local programmes (think they are in windows media format now).
I say Listen Again, but I can listen to the main National BBC radio programmes, such as, BBC Radio 1, 2, 3, etc., but I desperately want to listen to Local BBC Radio.
Am I doing something wrong? I can access Iplayer through my mobile, and find the required programme. When I press yes, it takes me straight back to the "Do you want to download Iplayer" and wont let me go any further. I already have Iplayer on my mobile and can watch TV progrmmes and as said before National Radio Programmes.
Getting desperate now, and thought it a bit too trivial to mention it on the forums, but it is sooooo frustrating. Someone else must have come across this problem. Or maybe, it is something you can't do and then I can stop fretting.

Feb 20, 2010Hey can anyone help me with setting proxy settings on applications? At university we have a wlan using a proxy server, i set up my access point with proxy settings and port number. Web browsing works fine: when i start web browsing, i am asked to enter my user name and password. But the problem starts when i want to use applications like Vyke Mobile, Chat, E-mail. Somehow there is no connection. I searched the settings of these applications in order to see if there is some place i could enter a proxy/port number, but nothing worked. Any suggestions please, it's driving me crazy !!!!

Jun 23, 2012I just set up Exchange 2010 and it runs greats supports SSL for IMAP POP and Activesync. IMAP is great because you have access to all your Inbox folders (with Active Sync / Exchange you can only have 1 such mailbox - blows). I've set up IMAP to my server on Android and BBs for my company clients - works great. I use IMAP at home with Outlook - great! I set up my Nokia Belle C7 and it pulls 20 random old messages off the server. I cannot figure out why it refuses to update the inbox contents.
I set to subscribe to all my other IMAP inbox folders no prob, it sees them. It outright refuses to see anything but the random old messages in my inbox? Whats going on? My phone is C7 Belle updated completely. I set up the account again as a "Hotmail" account and specified the exchange server - works very well and syncs well. Here you don't have access to any Inbox folders. Is this a bug with Nokia IMAP and exchange? I have another IMAP account which does work with Nokia.

Feb 16, 2012have got nokia 5800. got ovi store on it. but cannot change login details. i think i had it to auto login. but now i have changed my password it says that login failed but cannot change the details. i had Internet working on it but when i changed networks, Internet could not see the new access point so i tried uninstalling it to reinstalling it. now i cannot download anything. login fails each time.
