View 7 RepliesI can not seem to find a setting on the phone to change the hangup tone. When I am on the phone and the other caller hangs up I hear a bunch of beeping tones. This is especially annoying when wearing a bluetooth headset.
View 5 Replies View RelatedDon't know if this was posted before, but I've found out that the screen sensitivity issue is related to screen brightness settings. If I switch auto brightness off and set it to medium, then the issue disappears. However, if I set it to high I can reproduce the issue immediately.
Touch sensitivity in settings is set to normal.
i recently got a nokia 5230, and i have to give my colpliments to nokia. its an amazing device for the money
but, i have a problem. i used the vodafone sim card i have for the maps, and after some help from the store, i hav managed to get them working. they are fantastic.but here lies the problem: if i use my o2 sim, the maps application refuses to connect, stating a connection failure. however, the web browser works fine.are there any particular setting that i need to make to make the maps app connect when i am using the o2 sim?
i have using 5230, live tv channels and Internet is not working in 2g network. what are the settings.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to convert a few video clips to play back on my 5230 at the highest possible quality settings. Which container/bitrate/frame rate/aspect ratio would give those results? I know the resolution of the phone is 640x360 but any clips at that resolution are unable to play. I'm experimenting with combinations at the minute but it would be a lot quicker if I could just get a definite answer.Official playback specs are 640x360/??/30fps/?? but no mention of ideal bitrate, aspect ratio or container, ie MP4/3gp etc etc.
View 19 Replies View RelatedEverything works ok except the built in camera !It is a very strange and unusual behavior , it is not broken but it works at totally random times !i tried everything i could but i did not succeed in finding a right pattern that makes it working all the time.I just have to turn the phone on and off all the time and HOPE that it will work.
It was like this since the beginning but i tought that a new OS update would have fix this problem , unfortunately after the latest OS updates (just done it last week) nothing has changed , The camera just works when it wants to at random times !it has 2 way of acting either i see the red circle on top for few sec and nothing happen
but the camera is active in the task manager .. but i cant kill it (the exit camera has no effect at all !) or it just works straight away ! very werid !What do u suggest that i should do ? Do i have a defective unit ?in fact when it works is ok so it is not the CCD Camera for sure but is more like an OS problem to me.i have also reset the mobile many times to the default settings
I have had my nokia 5230 for about a week now and everytime I would receive a message it would pop up on the home screen that I had received a message and it would tell the name and number. All of a sudden it stopped doing that and now only the menu button flashes when I recieve a message how can i change it back?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to create a "profile" (or similar) which lets the phone recognise that it is plugged in (or perhaps paired with an incar bluetooth device) and therefore over-rides the keyguard behaviour? When I'm driving I use the 5230 as a music player, and it is very frustrating that it locks in the same way as it does when it is in my pocket.I always have the 5230 plugged in / charging to an in-car charger when I'm in the car, so having the screen permanently lit would be good.I can't see a way of making the screensaver / keyguard change depending on profiles. Perhaps there is an app that does it?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI bought a Nokia 5230 in Jan this year. There was no issue for the first few days... Then suddenly it started restarting . Radomly. First when I enabled bluetooth. Then later on it would restart when I changed a setting like Home Screen Shortcuts or Personalised the General Profile ... etc. I am using a SanDisk MicroSD 4 GB card brand new clean formatted. I have only put in music from NokiaMusic and OVI store apps. It has nothing to do with software installed. There is some really wierd problem.
..So , I went to the Nokia Care store countless times, and they re-installed and updated the phone software and gave it to me.. still the same problem.. SO then they sent it to the Delhi Head Office and I got a replacement 5230 !!! And guess what still the same problem !!! Random restarts. I feel there is some issue with the phone software or firmware or there is some issue with the phone accessing its memory card , I dont know. I have the latest firmware update for this phone V12.0.089

View 1 Replies View Relatedi've recently started having problems with ovi maps and it's internet settings. i'm not sure when the problem started but whenever i try to access internet settings (because i want to change my connection from wifi to wap) the program just exits back to the nokia menu however all the other menus work fine. i've made a short video to show you exactly what i mean.

as you can see as soon as i press to access the internet menu it kicks me out, but i can access the navigation tab just fine then i tried to go accross to internet settings and it kicks me out again. i have already tried deleting cities folder and .qf file to no avail. i have also tried to go offline before accessing internet settings which didn't work either. i even installed nokia maps 2.0 which wasn't for this phone but installed just wouldn't work then reinstalled ovi 3 to no avail either!
I recently bought a nokia 5800 xm....the close-up photos taken from the camera appear fine and normal...however other photos when taken are full of white hazy appearance..do i need to change any settings or is there a problem with the set??

View 2 Replies View Relatedwhen I use the phone while plugged in, scrolling around on the screen sucks. As I swipe on screen, it sometimes won't swipe but will just launch apps that your finger touched last during the swipe. If I swipe slow, it seems to help but sometimes refuses to move and will just launch what ever y finger was touching last when I lift off the screen. It's really annoying and makes the phone useless plugged in because you can't navigate the phone consistently. When I unplug it, it works flawlessly. It's instantly better.

Firstly my text when writing a text sometimes randomly starts deleting itself as though the delete has got a mind of its own and has locked or something, meaning I helplessly watch my text get deleted. Secondly, when browsing, occasionally if I bring up the back and option buttons (coming out of full screen mode) they just wont appear and I cannot do anything unless I close and reload the page. Thirdly when touching an icon, it may not realise for a while and I have to keep pressing it other times I accidently press something once and it opens it. The new features are great, but the problems are annoying and is it possible the sensitivity can still be increased as its almost perfect in terms of touch sensivity from a finger. I end up using my nail to help it along sometimes.

However, when i try to save the fileDB to my computer, it reads " Access to the file/directory has been blocked on this phone by the phone provider."
