Jun 22, 2010Is it possible to create a "profile" (or similar) which lets the phone recognise that it is plugged in (or perhaps paired with an incar bluetooth device) and therefore over-rides the keyguard behaviour? When I'm driving I use the 5230 as a music player, and it is very frustrating that it locks in the same way as it does when it is in my pocket.I always have the 5230 plugged in / charging to an in-car charger when I'm in the car, so having the screen permanently lit would be good.I can't see a way of making the screensaver / keyguard change depending on profiles. Perhaps there is an app that does it?

Feb 20, 2010I bought a Nokia 5230 in Jan this year. There was no issue for the first few days... Then suddenly it started restarting . Radomly. First when I enabled bluetooth. Then later on it would restart when I changed a setting like Home Screen Shortcuts or Personalised the General Profile ... etc. I am using a SanDisk MicroSD 4 GB card brand new clean formatted. I have only put in music from NokiaMusic and OVI store apps. It has nothing to do with software installed. There is some really wierd problem.
..So , I went to the Nokia Care store countless times, and they re-installed and updated the phone software and gave it to me.. still the same problem.. SO then they sent it to the Delhi Head Office and I got a replacement 5230 !!! And guess what still the same problem !!! Random restarts. I feel there is some issue with the phone software or firmware or there is some issue with the phone accessing its memory card , I dont know. I have the latest firmware update for this phone V12.0.089

Cseries :: C2-02 Display Timeout - How To Change It
Jan 27, 2012I got this phone for a relative and it arrived today. After setting it up, transferring contacts over and making it easy for her I'm stuck on this simple option. I've looked for over 30 minutes and searched all over using various keywords but I can't find a single answer. Where do you find the display timeout setting on this phone?! It defaults to something stupidly short like 10 seconds when it should be around 30 seconds at least. How fast do they think people read text messages? If I can't change this setting I don't think they'll want to keep the phone which is a shame as it looks quite nice in general.

Dec 29, 2012As far as I can tell there is no way to adjust the screen brightness on this model (or any of the C series?).
It's a little bit annoying because in the instruction pdf it recommends that you change the brightness in order to save battery. The phone can't change brightness however. I'm using a c101.

I use mulitiple email addresses in gmail (personal, business, etc), but when sending or replying with Nokia Mail it always uses the standard gmail address. I've even set my business address as the default in gmail settings, but when using Nokia Mail it still uses the standard gmail address instead.I've also tried gmail in Opera Mini and it allows me to choose different email addresses to send or reply from. I prefer the interface of Nokia Mail and the signature option, but if there is no way to change the "from" address I won't be able to use it. Is there any way to fix this?

Nov 7, 2011I have to admit that I been in love with my C5-03 since the first time I saw it. But unfortunately, the phone gave me real hard time.
1- I can't change the message memory to memory card. It works for a while, and then an error message pops out, statimg that "memory card not found" and that the phone will revery the message memory to phone memory.
2- The phone memory is almost full. I have 11.4 MB left, and I don't know what's filling the memory. I have 3 apps installed, 1 MB each, besides the default apps. Browsing the memory was of no help: almost all folders are empty. I tried emptying the browser's cache, but 11.4 MB is all I could have.
3- Nokia store and the web browser give me the "memory full" message after a couple of minutes of browsing, and then they close automatically, making them almost useless.
4- The battery life is not impressive. I have to charge the phone every 1-2 days even with light usage (15 min of calls, no Wi-Fi or music playing).
I love the phone and I've been having it for 6 months now.I have installed the latest firmware 2 months ago (v.20.0.024, version date 25-05-2011.
