Nov 19, 2015When the last word in a sentence has a bubble around it (meaning I can make that word an emoji), my phone will put it there twice. Only if the word can be an emoji and it has a period after. For example, I just typed a sentence and the last word was "soon." I typed out "soon." And my phone sort of auto corrected it to "soon soon." NO matter how many times I tried deleting the second word, every time I put a period, if would add the word again.

Aug 19, 2015Since the last update (August 2015), whenever I type some letters letters (one, sometimes 2) from the beginning of the word disappear before I can finish typing the word. This causes autocomplete to think I'm typing a completely different word.
E.g., I tried to type "think" - the "t" disappeared by the time I had gotten to the "i"(despite it initially appearing initially), making the phone think that the word is starting with "h", and leading to issues when I press space (despite typing think perfectly, the phone autocorrected to the nearest matching word starting with H as "h" was now the beginning letter)
This has only been an issue since updating my phone this week. I thought it might have been the swipe function messing up, but turning that off, it's still causing me issues when I type normally.
Motorola Defy :: Landscape Typing Bug / Can't Select Words By Double Tapping
Sep 14, 2011Well I didn't bring this up online until now, but It didn't get resolved inspite of sending the phone to the service center,I'm running the Defy on the Official 2.2 update.When I use the phone to input text in landscape mode I face the following issues -
1. Can't select words by double tapping, implies I'm unable to correct typos which is especially irritating when I'm using skype.
2. When i try to select all the text in the field with the 'long press' the text becomes white but the foreground also remains white (its supposed to turn orange) and i can't see what I've selected.
Texting works perfectly fine in portrait mode.This issue occurs with swype, multitouch and moto-input methods.When I called customer care and said the problem wasn't resolved, I was told that there was no way to correct it. (So have i paid Rs 17,000 for some buggy phone?) Sorely disappointed with Moto's service.

I've spent just over a week looking for an answer, searching Google and forums.The screen is very dull on the main menu, to the extent that to see any data on it you need to be in a very dark room. The screen saver however is just as bright as it has always been, brighter in fact.
I've turned the screen brightness up to full but this made no difference. It is almost as if the back light has been turned off.Does anyone know how to turn the back light on or even any resolution of this so I can use the phone during the day.

Feb 7, 2010A few weeks ago, I had an issue where i wasn't getting sms alerts. I put it down to a one off or me just missing them. However, I'ts happened again.My inbox had 3 messages, that I'd not heard a beep for, I had no little envelope icon and no "New Message" alert on the main screen.
As a test, we sent a message to my phone, the message hit the inbox, but there were no notificataions. I changed the profile and sent another text.. same again, no notifications.I rebooted the phone and sent another message.. this time everything worked OK.I'm using a standard message tone as the tone alert..

Oct 4, 2011Over the last week I've noticed sudden power loss on my Photon. It will go blank without warning. Plug it in and it will show 0%-10% battery power. Watch the screen and it will sometimes jump back up suddenly. From 10-20% to 100% before my eyes. I'm guessing it's a battery or phone issue. Don't see any other discussions about this. Apr 3, 2011My message icon on the main screen "menu" vanished. I can no longer receive messages, and all the messages that I had stored vanished, since the message icon disappeared. I seem however, able to send messages by going to the email, but instead of composing email, i compose sms. However, I never get any replies. The message icon disappeared approximately two weeks ago. I went to the 02 store and the technical assistant took my phone for about 30 minutes, and then gave it back to me, saying he had no idea what had happened. He initially thought it had been "hiden" but it appears to be no where!
