View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I updated my Curve to the new version 5. I noticed that there was no more Keyboard Lock/Password Lock. From my previous software, it was named Keyboard Lock and I set it as one of my convenience keys. After the update, I noticed that it no longer existed. A friend of mine purchased a brand new Curve 8520 with the update already installed of course. She had the Keyboard Lock but it was named Password Lock instead. I have been searching for ways to get this feature back to my Blackberry because I feel it is more convenient rather than the "silent/mute mode" button located on the top of my device. The shortcut to lock my phone which is the "A" on my keyboard quickly "locks" my keyboard only

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've had my phone for a couple of months now and it's been fine. The last software update caused the phone screen to go dark every time I turned on the keyboard lock, which is ok. But now - often, but not always - I can't get the phone to unlock again. I can activate the screen by pressing the Blackberry menu button but it just tells me the phone is locked. Pressing the keyboard lock/unlock button does nothing. I have to either disconnect the battery or connect the phone to a power supply to unlock it. Seems a bit strange to me!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI lost my lock icon when I upgraded to 5.0. I've lost a lot more than that over the years. I'm over it. I can lock it with the "A" key, but I can't unlock the phone no matter what key(s) I press. The only way to unlock is to turn it off and then back on. I'm open for suggestions.

View 8 Replies View RelatedSo my wife and I just picked up two new 9700s in white and black from T-Mobile with their buy-1-get-1 offer We're both already blackberry users. I was upgrading from a Pearl 8120, and she had a Curve 8320.After letting them charge for a while I finally fired them up to start playing with them.My first goal is to set them up as similar to our old phones as possible.
I checked the OS'es that shipped with each one and my black 9700 had 5.0.0.330 and hers had 5.0.0.586. So, I went to upgrade mine. But, while playing with some of the settings before upgrading I noticed that I was able to set my left convenience key to lock the keyboard on my 9700 but not on hers.In fact, the white 9700 that shipped with 5.0.0.586 didn't even have the lock keyboard icon in any of the menu screens at all.
I upgraded my OS to 5.0.0.586 and then went to check the left convenience key nothing.Went into settings and where it was previously set to Lock Keyboard, was now set to "Nothing".Is there no Lock Keyboard feature in OS 5.0.0.586? or am I seriously missing something?
Anyone having a problem with the phone locking when in holster? I have the setting right but it doesnt lock when I put it in the OEM holster. Even when I pass the flap magnet all over the phone nothing locks. Any ideas?
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to revert back to the old way of unlocking the bold, like from early 5.0 OS? like when you were supposed to hold * and the call button, because I absolutely despise this new mute button procedure and my mute button on my bold is already becoming unresponsive.Basically I'm wondering if perhaps there's a application that can switch them or maybe even a way to configure a different button on my bold to mute because as it is the default button (top left of the bold) is pretty much becoming unresponsive on my phone and I don't really want to get locked out.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI just updated to the v5.0.0.464 OS and now my lock icon is missing. I have searched all the folders, even with hidden icons showing. View 1 Replies View RelatedI did a search in the forum for info about this, but didn't find anything. I'm wondering why you can't locks caps or numbers with the physical keyboard like you can with the virtual keyboard on the Torch? This as to be near the top of my list of most frustrating and counfounding 'features' of the Torch that drives me nuts on a daily basis. Is there any software update available that can make the physical keyboard work the same way as the virtual keyboard when it comes to locking caps and numbers?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI restarted my phone and it is on the lock screen with a 4 digit pin to unlock it, the problem is that has switched the default keyboard to the voice keyboard (I think it's called Google Now).
I can't access settings or the app drawer. Restarting it the phone still needs the pin. I have 'said' the pin, 'said' it followed by 'enter' or 'return' but it's not working.
The phone also turned off my ringer for some reason when it restarted ....

View 14 Replies View RelatedI uninstalled my Swype keyboard and was in the process of reinstalling a new one when my phone screen shut off. Now, on the lock screen, no keyboard pops up when I try to enter my password, only the Google Voice red button, which doesn't actually record anything. It just stays statically in red 'waiting for results.' When I press the keyboard image next to the password input box, the 'Choose Input Method' option shows up, with no options to select from. I've tried clearing the cache as well, to no avail.
How can I get past this seemingly minor problem which has completely locked me out of my phone?
I've searched the net and other forums for support and cannot find a solution to this problem. Essentially, on my Blackberry Bold 9700 I lost the ability to hit the K button to lock the keyboard. I have a BB 9700 running v5.0.0.714. I had not installed any new software at all before getting this problem. I didn't do anything differently other than launch the Kayak app. I updated the app and also removed it but still the K button does not work to lock the keyboard.
After searching the forums, I found a couple suggestions (which didn't work):
- Reset the theme didn't work but it did make the 'keyboard lock' icon come back to the home screen. The issue is that there is no under the K to make it so when I hit K it locks the screen. I even tried the default theme (it's a T-Mobile US branded 9700) and didn't work either.
- Reinstall service books didn't work either didn't think there is a correlation here anyway.
- Full restart, batter pull did this multiple times didn't work.
- Update software all software apps and OS is up-to-date. I have fully uninstalled the kayak app just in case there was a correlation, still doesn't work.
