BB Software :: 8520 Can't Find The Icon For Keyboard Lock
May 6, 2010I recently installed v5.0 on my Curve 8520 and can't find the icon for Keyboard Lock.Have already looked using "Show All" in the Home screen and all the folders I have to no avail.Even looked through the various setup / configuration menus and options and still couldn't find anything...

Mar 23, 2011So I updated my Curve to the new version 5. I noticed that there was no more Keyboard Lock/Password Lock. From my previous software, it was named Keyboard Lock and I set it as one of my convenience keys. After the update, I noticed that it no longer existed. A friend of mine purchased a brand new Curve 8520 with the update already installed of course. She had the Keyboard Lock but it was named Password Lock instead. I have been searching for ways to get this feature back to my Blackberry because I feel it is more convenient rather than the "silent/mute mode" button located on the top of my device. May 26, 2010I have a problem with my BlackBerry BOLD 9000 v5.0.0.509 (Platform 5.2.0.50). The lock is "deleted" not "Hidden" from my menu LOCK PICTURE: and when i keep pressing on A key the telephone will lock but when i press any key after it locks, message appears which says that i have to click on mute key to unlock but when i click on the mute key it doesn't unlock. I deleted the password and I still have the same problem.

Dec 3, 2014I am trying to disable the top pull down menu from my lock screen. Just about every single time I pull my phone out of my pocket to preview any notification(s), the pull down menu covers everything and blanks it out. It's not a huge deal, but just really annoying when I want to respond to a specific notification immediately, or even just preview the notifications. I don't use the pull down menu ever, so I would permanently disable it, if even possible.

For first time ever i changed keypad lock code and now can't remember it. It have used up 5 out of 6 attempts and am now on last attempt,
I cannot lose all my data. Is there anyway on this earth to reset keypad lock or get more than 6 attempts.

May 4, 2010I've had my phone for a couple of months now and it's been fine. The last software update caused the phone screen to go dark every time I turned on the keyboard lock, which is ok. But now - often, but not always - I can't get the phone to unlock again. I can activate the screen by pressing the Blackberry menu button but it just tells me the phone is locked. Pressing the keyboard lock/unlock button does nothing. I have to either disconnect the battery or connect the phone to a power supply to unlock it. Seems a bit strange to me!

Nov 14, 2014After the 5.0 update, I went to add my Moto 360 as a trusted device and when I went to the Smart Lock menu option under Security settings I was surprised that there wasn't a Smart Lock menu option in there.
This is right out of the release notes from motorola: "Android Lollipop adds native support for allowing trusted devices to keep your phone unlocked (such as your Moto 360, a Bluetooth car kit or headset, etc.). Smart Lock replaces the prior trusted device capability in your Motorola phone. Note that you will need to add your trusted devices back after the transition to Lollipop in the Security settings menu under Smart Lock."
Noticed this option missing when your Moto X 2014 was upgraded to Lollipop.

May 31, 2010So my wife and I just picked up two new 9700s in white and black from T-Mobile with their buy-1-get-1 offer We're both already blackberry users. I was upgrading from a Pearl 8120, and she had a Curve 8320.After letting them charge for a while I finally fired them up to start playing with them.My first goal is to set them up as similar to our old phones as possible.
I checked the OS'es that shipped with each one and my black 9700 had 5.0.0.330 and hers had 5.0.0.586. So, I went to upgrade mine.But, while playing with some of the settings before upgrading I noticed that I was able to set my left convenience key to lock the keyboard on my 9700 but not on hers.In fact, the white 9700 that shipped with 5.0.0.586 didn't even have the lock keyboard icon in any of the menu screens at all.
I upgraded my OS to 5.0.0.586 and then went to check the left convenience key nothing.Went into settings and where it was previously set to Lock Keyboard, was now set to "Nothing".Is there no Lock Keyboard feature in OS 5.0.0.586? or am I seriously missing something?

Jun 4, 2010Anyone having a problem with the phone locking when in holster? I have the setting right but it doesnt lock when I put it in the OEM holster. Even when I pass the flap magnet all over the phone nothing locks. Any ideas?
