I recently took charge of a Blackberry Curve 8520 - I noticed that after I had linked it to my PC via Blackberry Desktop Manager, the icon for the keyboard lock was removed from the menu. I've looked in the obvious places in Options to try and re-instate the icon but can't seem to see anywhere which allow me to do ths. I've also searched for hidden items but nothing seems to be hidden.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe Keyboard Lock Icon was on the Home Screen till I installed the updates that were sent to me today on my BB. Now that Icon has disappeared. Checked the Help Section and could only find out how to lock or unlock screen manually. Checked the instruction booklet that came with it....again no help. Searched through the BB Curve Demo online - still nothing about adding back the icon. It was so easy just to push that button and not have to worry about the keys in my pocket or purse.....how do i get it back? If I dont want it back I wont install updates any longer because I found I had ro reset things back the way I wanted them to.....moving icons from folders to home screen etc....please tell me there is a way to get this back....just bought this BB in June and first one i have owned and have come to find it difficult to do without..

From my previous software, it was named Keyboard Lock and I set it as one of my convenience keys. After the update, I noticed that it no longer existed. A friend of mine purchased a brand new Curve 8520 with the update already installed of course. She had the Keyboard Lock but it was named Password Lock instead. I have been searching for ways to get this feature back to my Blackberry because I feel it is more convenient rather than the "silent/mute mode" button located on the top of my device. I tried to click back onto the texts and it wouldn't let me, so I rebooted the phone by taking the battery out. When I turned the phone back on the sms message icon and other sms menus have all disappeared. I can write a text but not send it, and I cant receive them!

I've looked in IM folder, apprlications and downloadswith no luck. I've taken out the battery and restarted the phone so many times and has not worked. When I look in my list of APPS, it is showing that I have BB messenger installed but then when I click on it, all I see is Reviews, Recommend and Screenshots. I have tried to see if I can uninstall it and then download it all over, but I've not been able to do that either. I tried working with my carrier's tech support without luck.
