Aug 29, 2010I updated my software to the recommended urgrade and now don't have a keyboard lock icon on the desktop menu. Is this correctable?

Jul 4, 2011The Keyboard Lock Icon was on the Home Screen till I installed the updates that were sent to me today on my BB. Now that Icon has disappeared. Checked the Help Section and could only find out how to lock or unlock screen manually. Checked the instruction booklet that came with it....again no help. Searched through the BB Curve Demo online - still nothing about adding back the icon. It was so easy just to push that button and not have to worry about the keys in my pocket or purse.....how do i get it back? If I dont want it back I wont install updates any longer because I found I had ro reset things back the way I wanted them to.....moving icons from folders to home screen etc....please tell me there is a way to get this back....just bought this BB in June and first one i have owned and have come to find it difficult to do without..

Sep 6, 2010I had the sprint store download 5.0 for me cause my phone locked up while trying it at home. Anyway my wife is still running the 4.6 software and I'm running 5.0 with my update I can't find my keyboard lock icon. She doesn't want 5.0 if she can't lock the keyboard.Any suggestions?

Mar 22, 2010Downloaded OS 5.0.508 and now lock icon is missing. I can hold the A button and put it in what seems to be sleep mode, but my name and info does not show up on the home screen anymore. And you now push the mute button to unlock the keyboard. These are the only changes I have noticed. I liked the other way better.

May 26, 2010I recently took charge of a Blackberry Curve 8520 - I noticed that after I had linked it to my PC via Blackberry Desktop Manager, the icon for the keyboard lock was removed from the menu. I've looked in the obvious places in Options to try and re-instate the icon but can't seem to see anywhere which allow me to do ths. I've also searched for hidden items but nothing seems to be hidden.

I usually keep the right side convenience key programmed to lock it. But that is not even an option anymore when you go to set the action for the convenience keys.

BB Curve 8350i :: Icon Top Left Right Next To Profiles
Jan 6, 2010the mini icon on the top left is? It is just to the right of the "Profiles" icon and it is what looks like a phone with a red slash through it and waves off the top right side of the icon. My speaker is working for the push to talk. The phone is working except it is not receiving emails but is sending emails.

From my previous software, it was named Keyboard Lock and I set it as one of my convenience keys. After the update, I noticed that it no longer existed. A friend of mine purchased a brand new Curve 8520 with the update already installed of course. She had the Keyboard Lock but it was named Password Lock instead. I have been searching for ways to get this feature back to my Blackberry because I feel it is more convenient rather than the "silent/mute mode" button located on the top of my device. Jan 4, 2010I've read around the forums and elsewhere but haven't found a solution yet Have an 8350i and with the Mobile network off (Nextel) I turn on wifi (both at home and at work) and it connects to the network, icon is white not gray Data service is on and was working before (had the phone for 9 months). I recently connected to desktop manager for the first time and updated all available programs,firmwares, etc, I'm assuming this is the root of the problem. Gmail and Facebook apps won't connect, (you need a working data connection bla bla) and same with Browser app.Any solution that doesn't involve downgrading, wiping clean? (I've pulled the battery, turned wifi on and off with no results)
