Aug 29, 2010I updated my software to the recommended upgrade and now don't have a keyboard lock icon on the desktop menu. Is this correctable?

Jul 4, 2011The Keyboard Lock Icon was on the Home Screen till I installed the updates that were sent to me today on my BB. Now that Icon has disappeared. Checked the Help Section and could only find out how to lock or unlock screen manually. Checked the instruction booklet that came with it....again no help. Searched through the BB Curve Demo online - still nothing about adding back the icon. It was so easy just to push that button and not have to worry about the keys in my pocket or purse.....how do i get it back? If I dont want it back I wont install updates any longer because I found I had ro reset things back the way I wanted them to.....moving icons from folders to home screen etc....please tell me there is a way to get this back....just bought this BB in June and first one i have owned and have come to find it difficult to do without..

Sep 6, 2010I had the sprint store download 5.0 for me cause my phone locked up while trying it at home. Anyway my wife is still running the 4.6 software and I'm running 5.0 with my update I can't find my keyboard lock icon. She doesn't want 5.0 if she can't lock the keyboard.Any suggestions?

Mar 22, 2010Downloaded OS 5.0.508 and now lock icon is missing. I can hold the A button and put it in what seems to be sleep mode, but my name and info does not show up on the home screen anymore. And you now push the mute button to unlock the keyboard. These are the only changes I have noticed. I liked the other way better.

I've looked in the obvious places in Options to try and re-instate the icon but can't seem to see anywhere which allow me to do ths. I've also searched for hidden items but nothing seems to be hidden.

I usually keep the right side convenience key programmed to lock it. But that is not even an option anymore when you go to set the action for the convenience keys.

BB Curve 8350i :: Icon Top Left Right Next To Profiles
Jan 6, 2010the mini icon on the top left is? It is just to the right of the "Profiles" icon and it is what looks like a phone with a red slash through it and waves off the top right side of the icon. My speaker is working for the push to talk. The phone is working except it is not receiving emails but is sending emails.

Feb 23, 2010One of my bosses just came to me with their 8310 and they are having a pecuilar problem. They were complaning about not hearing their phone ringing, so I attempted to go to their 'Profiles' icon to fix the settings, but it was missing. I then unhid everything and it still didn't show up. I restarted the phone and checked the hide/unhide settings again and still nothing. Does anyone have any idea where the profile went or how I can get it back?

Feb 7, 2010I'm trying to sync with Outlook 2007 using Desktop Mgr 5.0 (on XP SP3) to my 8310 Curve running 4.5.0.81 OS. I can pair devices and have the bluetooth option in Desktop Mgr un-greyed (so I'm running the correct Microsoft BT stack on XP) but I can't get Desktop Mgr to connect or do the synch. From reading other forum entries it woud seem this is because Bluetooth Services display on my BB does not list 'Desktop Connectivity' or 'Wireless Bypass' services (so I fail the device pre-req described in this KB article http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/viewContent.do?externalId=KB04132) How do I get these services installed on my BB ??? I suspect this is something to do with the fact that I was on BES, but am now disconnected and on BIS only. I did a phone Wipe when I switched from BES to BIS, and this has removed all obvious signs of the IT Policy imposed when I was on BES .... e.g. there is now no mention of Policy on the Security/General Settings screen, and I've had no problems doing other stuff (like installing new apps) that I was prohibited from doing when I was on BES. Any ideas as to how I get those missing services installed on my BB ?? Some way of forcing an install?

Jan 19, 2010I'm using BB Curve 8320. My keyboard keys and trackball do not light up. Not at night, not ever. When I go to screen/keyboard options the only type of light I can edit or adjust is the screen backlight. I've read about how to cover the sensor near the led but I don't even see the sensor. And what would that matter since its already dark and its not working?
To note, I just got this BB from my mom a few days ago and the keyboard light hasn't worked since I've had it and I haven't asked her about it. Although, there was one time randomly during the day the keys lit up and the trackball, so I know the light works...Is there an option menu I can go to? Its frustrating typing this out at night and same with texts.
BB Torch :: Suddenly Missing Password Lock Icon?
Dec 13, 2010I am suddenly missing the Password Lock icon. I had it as one of the icons on my Favorites screen and now it has vanished. I can do a search for it and it will be in the results list and, while greyed out, I can use it to lock the device. However, I do not wish to do a seach for it everytime I want to lock the device when it was available before.
