Jul 4, 2011The Keyboard Lock Icon was on the Home Screen till I installed the updates that were sent to me today on my BB. Now that Icon has disappeared. Checked the Help Section and could only find out how to lock or unlock screen manually. Checked the instruction booklet that came with it....again no help. Searched through the BB Curve Demo online - still nothing about adding back the icon. It was so easy just to push that button and not have to worry about the keys in my pocket or purse.....how do i get it back? If I dont want it back I wont install updates any longer because I found I had ro reset things back the way I wanted them to.....moving icons from folders to home screen etc....please tell me there is a way to get this back....just bought this BB in June and first one i have owned and have come to find it difficult to do without..

Mar 22, 2010Downloaded OS 5.0.508 and now lock icon is missing. I can hold the A button and put it in what seems to be sleep mode, but my name and info does not show up on the home screen anymore. And you now push the mute button to unlock the keyboard. These are the only changes I have noticed. I liked the other way better.

Feb 14, 2010After Upgrade of OS from 4.6 to 5.0 keyboard lock icon is gone from menu. BB also doesn't respond to lock button at the top of the handheld.Does anybody know what happened and what is remedy.I also have Bold 9700 and afraid to perform OS update.Please advise.

May 26, 2010I recently took charge of a Blackberry Curve 8520 - I noticed that after I had linked it to my PC via Blackberry Desktop Manager, the icon for the keyboard lock was removed from the menu. I've looked in the obvious places in Options to try and re-instate the icon but can't seem to see anywhere which allow me to do ths. I've also searched for hidden items but nothing seems to be hidden.

I usually keep the right side convenience key programmed to lock it. But that is not even an option anymore when you go to set the action for the convenience keys.

A friend of mine purchased a brand new Curve 8520 with the update already installed of course. She had the Keyboard Lock but it was named Password Lock instead. However, it seems like the ability to lock the keyboard is gone!When I press the top left hand button (lock key shortcut), nothing happens. Tried doing a hard and soft reset. Still doesn't work.I tot that my button was spoilt, so I programmed QL to have a lock device shortcut. But guess what? Nothing happened either! I am aware that I can press and hold the A key to do a pseduo lock, but that is not what I want.Anyone else facing the same problem?
