My 3G XOOM (MZ601) is having a small issue since the 3.2 upgrade that if i have the XOOM at home connected to my WiFi, then take it out with me, it refuses to connect/switch to my Mobile network without a restart. Once I have done this it works fine, but it's a bit of a pain having to turn it off and on again every time I leave the house.
Ever since I got my Xoom back from the 4G upgrade I have a problem with no internet access and generally a restart seems to wake it up. is anyone else experiencing thisIt might be my routine combined with geographic locations at specific times (e.g., commutting.)
IM in range of service and all such just started yester day thought it was because of bad signal but have gone to places I know have good signal and still nothing it will also randomly search for service when it does find some it gets bars plus x which doesn't let me make call or anything I have tried resting removed the battery and all the other tricks i know of
I'm currently experiencing some problems with my wifi on my xperia z2 and every 2 or 3 seconds my wifi keeps droping out and connecting to the mobile network and i've tried restarting my handset and seems fine for like half hour then it goes back to dropping out now would it be something to do with my software as i'm currently on 5.0.2 or is it best i do a factory reset as i've not done one it like 8 months from when i first got my phone..
Have a wifi 3g xoom with android 3.2 and a 16g msd card. When I try to connect to my nikon Coolpix p100 the camera comes on and the xoom shows loading but no photos from the camera ever show up. The Gallery only shows the photos taken with the xoom not the nikon. The p100 documentation indicates ptp is supported but that alternative does not show up on any menu and i have searched and searched for a way to find ptp in any menu on the Nikon p100. Using the Motorola camera connection cable i bought at Best Buy.
Received the following message this morning: Motorola XOOM Software Update, A critical software update 65.1.17.en.03 (50.2mb) is available. Plug in the tablet to ensure the battery is not drained during download. It is also recommended to download over a high speed network or WiFi. I ran the update & after restart my XOOM had upgraded from 3.1 to 3.2, However, I don't have any mobile internet The Mobile Networks option is greyed out - And the IMEI numbers etc. have been erased.
I am on my second Atrix in two days. The phone takes 10-15 minutes to connect to the ATT edge network. Motorola and ATT tech support have no answers. My razr gave me 5 bars and the ATT tower is in line of sight. I am ready to get a Samsung..
Others may have asked this but I can't find an answer that works for my Xoom. I have a 3G Xoom operating on 3.1 but it won't recognise the SIM card.
I have:
Tried turning the unit off and repowering it - no success Tried using the SIM card from my mobile phone - no success Removed the SIM and resinserted it - no success When I look at Settings/Wireless and Networks/Mobile Network Settings, I have Data Enabled checked.
If i open the SIM card slot, I immediately get a message "SIM error - A SIM card error has occured. A mobile data connection cannot be made until you insert a valid SIM and power cycle the device. Please contact Customer Care if the problem persists".
When I reinsert the SIM, I get a triangle with an exclamation mark in the bottom right corner saying "No Service - Selected network (Vodafone AU) unavailable". Now when I go back to Settings/Wireless and Networks, the Mobile Network Settings option is greyed out an unavailable.
When I turn the Xoom off and then restart it, that Mobile Network Settings option is available again. MASSIVELY frustrated as I can't find out whether it's a setting that needs adjusting, whether it's the Xoom itself, a 3.1 problem.
why the mobile network setting would change on its own. I have specifically changed from "any cdma" to "automatic". I have not determined when the phone switched back to "any cdma". I don't believe I powered the phone down. The only reason I checked was when I noticed the 3G data was running slow. I notice a pretty drastic speed increase when using the automatic setting. Is there something that triggers the phone to revert back to "any cdma"?
I'm trying to find the best option for mobile internet access for my Xoom.I've ordered the D-Link DAP350 to be able to get wifi from wired internet, but am looking for a router that will accept an onlocked 3.5G modem. So, I looked at the CNet CQR-981 that will accept a USB modem (which the DAP350 apparently does not)The problem as I see it is that they all need some form of setting up/driver, and those will not be available for Andriod-or am I missing something? BTW, I've tried tethering my Xoom to my Nokia N8 both with wifi and BT.
Both Verizon and Virgin Mobile (Sprint) has CDMA and CDMA2000 network. If I bought Droid X, can I unlock it, and use it on Virgin Mobile? Because it is much cheaper...
I've bought my 'Defy, motoblur - MB525' on 'T-mobile - UK. It doesn't seems to be connecting to 3G. I've gone thru different checks on the phone with t-mobile support, even sent my phone for 3 weeks but still the same problem. They'v ask me to sent it back. Mobile network is set on auto, but i m unable to view any videos or download a simple pdf, it takes very long to connect to some sites. There is always a 'G' on top of the screen.
My phone currently can make calls and send text messages but it will not send/rx data type calls. The H+ icon is displayed and I'm in a good signal area. Wi-Fi works fine. In the Phone status menu, I see a potential problem in that the Mobile Network state is set to "disconnected". Mobile Net type = HSPA (which stands for what?), Service state = "in service", and I'm on an AT&T network.how to get my mobile network state back on?
My new Xoom doesn't find any WiFi network. Where I am currently, there are at least three networks in reach, one of them is completely open. Neither of them shows up on the list of available networks.
If I set up mobile hotspot on Xoom, I can connect other devices via WiFi to Xoom, which leads me to believe hardware is ok.
does anyone know how to diable to Twonkey app? That by far has to be the most annoying app of all time. If I click on a video to watch, that dosent mean that I want to automatically stream to my network and TV....that is rediculious! Little help, does anyone know how to disable or ot delete it? Its one of those preinstalled apps, so the regular way of delteting do dosent work...
We have a new xoom. Last night it connected fine to our network and the internet.Today at the office it is connected to the network, shows an ip address but when I try get on the internet, it just thinks forever and then times out
Traveling with the Xoom wi-fi and it suddenly decided not to connect with open wi-fi networks. Works fine on home network and worked fine on open networks a couple of weeks ago. Now, it sees the network, saves the network but when you tap "OK" to connect nothing happens.
My Xoom2 is connected to internet by celullar network and network coverage are doesn't strong enought to keep my device online every where. (Subway, B1 floor etc.) Here is the thing; every time, when the device loose network or catch back, it on the screen (like as tap power button) and wait 2 minutes (which is my set) then screen goes off. Which is increasing my battery consumption and sort of meaningless reaction. How could i get over it?
I have a US WiFi only Xoom with a weird network issue. Whenever I leave it at home when I go to work, I come back to a gray wifi indicator. I'm still connected to my router and can access things internal to my network (like my Sonos system or router), but can't get to anything external (such as pinging an IP address or doing a DNS lookup).
I have noticed that the WIFI- Network Notification ( Notify me when an open network is available) is ticked after the 3.1 updateI am presuming this means its always looking for a open network and chewing up power doing so.To save some battery, and alien networks, untick the boxUnless you ok with open network hunting and shorter battery life.
I have a 6 week old ZOOM WiFi which in the last week has started to endlessly reboot when attempting to connect to my home network. It stops rebooting when Wi-Fi is turned off. When WiFi is turned back on, the rebooting starts again. Before I realised what was causing the reboot, I restored it to factory settings, and this seemed to work for a few days. No apps have been downloaded since then. I have tried a soft reboot without success.
My Xoom post upgrade to 4G is now assigning the IP address of 192.168.20.1 to the device usb1 everytime it is rebooted. This apparently hardwired configuration conflicts with my homenetwork's default gateway. Is there anyway to change this with out rooting the device? I would rather not have to re-IP my home network or not be able to connect to any network via Wifi who uses that IP address as a default gateway.
I prefer to hide my wireless SSID but when I do this my android devices don't see the network. Even if I am already connected with my Xoom then switch to hidden SSID mode the Xoom disconnects. Same for my HTC Thunderbolt. My network is shown in the list of remembered networks as out of range. When in hidden mode. This does not affect my laptops.
They stay connected if I switch to hidden mode and they have a setting to connect to hidden networks that have previously been configured. I cannot find a setting for hidden network support on either android device. Hiding the SSID is not a new concept. Is this not supported in the android network stack? I have a strong random PW on my wifi so I am not terribly worried about it but I would be nice to have the option.
I updated my Milestone which is UAE version to Froyo yesterday after a long delay, was really excited all evening until i discovered two problems with my wifi. The Device does not connect to the corporate network as my office uses 802.1x EAP and there is no place to enter proxy where as my friends using samsung galaxy s (Froyo 2.2) connect to the network and browse using the wifi advanced settings to enter the proxy in their device.
Some web sites default me to the mobile version instead of the full version. Some have a link to select the full web site but many do not. Typing in the full web address does not help with these web sites. If there is some way to override this selection of the mobile version
