I have checked the box to include facebook contacts on my phone so they appear in my contact list. Now one would think that when I tap on the link to their facebook page that's where I would go. However, I am always taken to my own profile, rather than the profile of the person I am clicking on.
I am new to the android community and just got my XPRT a week ago. I downloaded 3 of the free android market apps for the SMS backup, SMS backup +, backup to gmail, etc.I do see a folder created in my gmail but when i click on the actual thread of each SMS message, it only backs up what I sent -- NOT THE ENTIRE THREAD. Has anyone else had this problem and how do I fix it? Or which app works best for the XPRT so that ALL SMS messages are backed up (the ones I receive and the ones I've sent)
I prefer to use Wifi when I am at home. I'm showing as connected to wifi, but the 3g icon never turns off. Also, the 3g icon shows traffic. I just want to use wifi for all data. Not 3g.
Two weeks into using my new XPRT and now the green phone button does nothing, well almost nothing. After a power down and battery remove-replace, the first time I push the phone button the screen blinks, then nothing. Each push thereafter does nothing. If I use the phone dialer app it's the same thing. To make a call I have to either use my Voice Mail which works fine, and use the redial function from voice mail, or use Contacts to make a call. If I want to call a number not in a VM or in my contacts, it can't be done.Android 2.2.2
My Motorola xprt is less that 1 week old. At first everything worked fine. I had internet connection etc. So I connected to my home wifi and it worked fine, then my secure wifi at work. however now I cannot connect to the internet without wifi. There is no 3G signal activity. I tried to troubleshoot with a Sprint representatitve and after trying to do a profile update 3 times unsuccessfully, he recommended I take it to a shop and maybe get a new phone. Prior to that however I tried to troubleshoot from this site via a USB connection with properly installed drivers ( I think) and it was not able to detect my device. Do I have some settings wrong?
Is there a way to adjust/add to the auto-correct dictionary for the physical keyboard of the XPRT? On my SOLD BB9650, this was done the first time I picked up the phone. Now, I can't. This phone (while waiting for Gingerbread), would be THE BEST, if it could fix this little problem...
What are the plans for future software updates for XPRT?Is Gingerbread going to be the last one? Any chance for 4.x?Because, see, as of today XPRT is lagging behind for like a year on Android updates. It was released (June 6, 2011) with outdated FroYo (released May 20, 2010).Now, if stars align, we'll get GB 2.3.5 update (released July 25, 2011) hopefully in August '12.And that also means that phone that's been out only for a year is already 2 major Android versions behind current one.
I have an 8GB model and current firmware version is MA 1.7.10 N8. When I check the websites it says the latest firmware is 1.7.11 N8. When I connect to the system and check for latest software, motocast always report back saying there is not new files to update. May I know how to upgrade to the latest firmware?
I can't seem to get my phone to vibrate. I set to "vibrate when in silent mode", then set to silent mode, but no vibration. I have also set vibration to "alwasy" but still nothing.
Droid Turbo (Android Version 5.1) - WIFI works fine at home and seems to work other places. I have been using it for months at work. Recently I cannot connect. Other people can still connect. I had the connection saved...but even tried deleting it and researching, but it won't locate the server.
For the last several weeks neither the WiFi nor the Bluetooth will turn on. When selecting to turn on WiFi is starts to turn on then stops and displays Error. About 75% of the time after attempting to turn on the WiFi the phone will reboot. I have factory reset the phone and the WiFi and Bluetooth will work once after the reset but once the phone sleeps neither WiFi nor Bluetooth will operate. This is even after a power down. I have checked my settings and can't find anything that would cause this.
I had random issues with the fb app when on GB also, but now it wont start at all, or, it starts, then goes black and never recovers. finally about 10 - 15 minutes later I get a pop up message that the app has stopped responding and do I want to report it. Of course I report it every time.
I tried uninstalling the app completely but could not do it. I could only uninstall the upgrades made to it previously, so I tried that and then reinstalled the upgrades, but to no avail.
I did not realize that fb is a permanent app. I thought I could uninstall it completely, but I cannot. Has anyone else run into this with fb?
yes I did have other issues with ics and I have cache cleared and started uninstalling app's where possible. I have NOT tried a factory reset yet, but that may very well be next.
I got the 3.2 upgrade for my 3G Xoom a week or so ago; I understood that when the upgrade came, it would work with SD cards just like the WiFI-only Xoom upgrade. Today I stuck a SanDisk micro SD into the slot, and I got an option in "Settings" to mount the SD, but it won't mount. Neither will computer (Vista OS) recognize an SD, nor will it create a Xoom Media section in computer file explorer when Xoom is connected by USB as the Motorola help site describes; all I get is the original Xoom folder that I had pre-3.2.
None of my Bluetooth Motorola Headphones work anymore after iOS 5.1 upgrade. They constantly skip and dropout to a point of being totally useless... They were all working great and now they barely work at all.
I have Xoom wifi and received the ICS upgrade yesterday. I've noticed that my wifi seems to drop out quite a bit even though it's the same setup as before the upgrade (wireless-n) in my home. No changes to the network and all other devices are working fine. Seems the Xoom keeps dropping the connection and re-connecting -- even when I'm online (such as with browser or email).
Ok so after having to replace the earpiece under warranty I thought would risk another outage to my Defy. It was bought sim-free and I use my work SIM in it from Vodafone. So ran through the upgrade, and it worked first time ... until wifi. Wifi does not connect or rather from what I can determine I cannot actually obtain an IP address. For it to actually connect to the hub I have to force the settings to toggle the "Enable Auto IP" setting and manually set the channel to the same as my hub. (not had to do that with any other phone ... ) by the way, this still does not give me a data connectionAlso tried setting a static IP address and related settings and that does not work either Did a factory reset as recommended on the other pages - no avail. My hub runs WPA/WPA2 and I have a variety of devices connecting to it, trouble free, including 2 other Android 2.2 phones (HTC Desire Z and LG Optimus One), Windows XP, Windows 7, PS3 etc etc ... oh and once I had a Defy running 2.1 Eclair connecting trouble free?
I've had my Atrix for a couple of months now and I noticed this problem back within the first 30 days but thought it was an issue with our network at work..ie the wrong password. After getting our tech guys to set the right password I have tried to connect to the WiFi at work but it gets to the point of obtaining an IP address and disconnects. I know the password is right because my co workers newish laptop will connect and another coworkers Iphone 3GS will connect.
My Atrix will connect at home, Applebees guest and the local hospitals guest connection. The work connection is secured with WPA/WPA2 PSK according to my phone. It's a small work place and really the only person that would every use the connection would be me and honestly I'm a little peeved that I can't get it to connect. The routers are probably about 3 years old so I'm not sure what that would have on them but they should work just fine with this phone. I can't really log into the routers and change anything there because of some other things that are networked into the system. Are there any setting I can change in my phone that might force it to work?
I have a Nokia E72-2 Type RM-529 currently running v.022.007. I have some stability issues that I think would be resolved with the recent firmware update v031. I tried updating through Ovi suite, *#0000#, etc. and I keep getting the 'no updates avaliable' message.
1. autofit-to-screen web text.you zoom in more, the text wont fit in the screen, you have to scroll right and left to read.double-taps are almost useless, as although it zooms in to fit the screen, most cases texts are still too small to read.learn from HTC's android devices.
2. sort-by-alphabet bookmarks, is it there ? if not, please make it so, cant believe such function is not available.
3. "true" desk-top browser. try cnbc.com, it'll take you to the "mobile" version instead of the full-web/desktop verson. i cant remember a couple of other sitest, but cnbc is one of them as i follow news quiet closely.
4. being an internet device, it must give you unparalleled user-friendliness, which fixing the first 3 above would. of course people may have other feedback other than browsing experience, but like i said, being a browser device, browsing experience is paramount

I have BB 9790 and I need to load new FW, because I need HotSpot function. When I go to the settings --> Devices --> Update sw - nothing founded. I have FW version 7.0.0. and people says, that is version nr. 7.1.x
The only time I was successful in getting WIFI to work was connecting to the OPEN connection at a Lexus Dealership. I've tried numerous times to connect to my home wireless network without success. It shows connected, but there is absolutely no Intenet. This is inexcusable for such a prominent technology company as Motorola! In my view, I believe that Motorola has omitted the WEP key or WPA key in their WIFI set-up. Does anyone else agree to that assessment? I have an electronic engineering degree and have been involved with technology since I was in high school and I would think that Motorola would answer this problem with a software update. I am sure it affects all of their smartphones with supposed WIFI capability. Other than the WIFI issue it is a great smartphone even without 4G!
