Motorola XPRT :: Its Not Charging When It Says It Is
Sep 21, 2012
I HAVE BOUGHT A MOTORLA XPRT A MONTH AGO AND I ADDED THE 3G MOBILE HOTSPOT TO IT A WEEK LATER. FOR A WEEK MY PHONE WAS DOING FINE AND THEN WHEN I USE THE 3G MOBILE HOTSPOT I KEEP MY PHONE PLUGGED IN AND THE BATTERY SAYS IT IS CHARGING BUT IT IS DOING THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE AND GOING DEAD. MY PHONE KEEPS TURNING OFF IN 4-5 HOURS AND IT IS SAYING IT IS DEAD. AND ALSO MY PHONE GETS HOT AT THE TOP OF THE PHONE, THE BOTTOM OF THE PHONE STAYS COOL.
i have bought motorola xpert since last week my phine was doing fine then when i use 3 G mobile hotspot i keep my phone plugged in and the battery says it is charging but it is doing complete opposite and going dead. and phone keeps turning off in 4 to 5 hours.
Is there a way to adjust/add to the auto-correct dictionary for the physical keyboard of the XPRT? On my SOLD BB9650, this was done the first time I picked up the phone. Now, I can't. This phone (while waiting for Gingerbread), would be THE BEST, if it could fix this little problem...
What are the plans for future software updates for XPRT?Is Gingerbread going to be the last one? Any chance for 4.x?Because, see, as of today XPRT is lagging behind for like a year on Android updates. It was released (June 6, 2011) with outdated FroYo (released May 20, 2010).Now, if stars align, we'll get GB 2.3.5 update (released July 25, 2011) hopefully in August '12.And that also means that phone that's been out only for a year is already 2 major Android versions behind current one.
I can't seem to get my phone to vibrate. I set to "vibrate when in silent mode", then set to silent mode, but no vibration. I have also set vibration to "alwasy" but still nothing.
Does the XPRT phone need to be activated by Sprint to get a HEX MEID? I have been using the XPRT off Sprint's network since purchase. It doesn't appear that I can activate the device from Sprint Zone while not on their network. Can I phone them to activate the XPRT?
When I am in camera or video mode my screen is black. When I hit the shutter button there is no sound and it goes away. On video I get the same screen but do get the sound when I try to record. There is no picture on either screen and the flash does not go off .
I prefer to use Wifi when I am at home. I'm showing as connected to wifi, but the 3g icon never turns off. Also, the 3g icon shows traffic. I just want to use wifi for all data. Not 3g.
I have a completely stock Moto XPRT running 4.1.15.MB612. When I select to check for updates, it says 4.1.110.MB612 is available so I click to download. I'm on wifi so thankfully it's not too slow. The phone reboots, shows the Android guy doing his thing then quickly boots back in to Android before eventually popping up with the error "failed to update". So I lurked the forums and see to hold the @ symbol down when in recovery and do so, here's what pops up.
I have at least 6 XPRT's in my company that users are complaining they turn on by themselves in the middle of the night. This started happening after the Gingerbread update and has happened on phones that I've done a factory reset on. I've had them remove them from the cases to make sure they are pressing on the power button but the problem persists. I've seen some posts from Droid users having had the same problem and one XPRT user on the Sprint forums.
Could it be an app that get's installed. I've confirmed they are shutting them off and not just putting them in "low power" mode.
at one time i used find a feature on my MOTOROLA XPRT that said PHONE CALLS ONLY which i took as only the number in my contact would be able to call and text me. Can someone tell me where and if my phone does offer that feature?

Currently I'm living in the Netherlands and I own a Motorola XPRT that I bought at Sprint in the US.I'm trying to update my phone to 4.1.110.en.US, the firmware does download, asks me to install.I accept offcourse, the phone reboots, tries to flash new firmware, suddently stops and reboots again and after the phone is fully booted there is a message displayed that says that the update has failed.I already did a factory reset and a hard reset.
Can anyone explain how to get contacts from a non-Motorola phone into the XPRT so that they show up when the blue contacts button is selected and appear in the phone's phone book, as well as FB, Twitter? When my daughter first started up the phone they were there, but then disappeared and are now not showing the FB and Twitter contacts. Based on other similar questions, it appears that this is a reoccuring issue that hopefully Motorola has addressed.
Yesterday I experienced a random reboot while I was in the middle of a phone call. Anyone else have this problem? I've had this phone for about a year now, and it hasn't ever done that. No apps were running in background either.
Has anyone else experienced a solid red LED light of late? It's a faint red, plugged in it's brighter. Turn the phone off, light stays on. I have not added any applications either. It's been going on for the past 2-3 days.
I switched over from the Samsung Nexus S because: 1- I love Motorola's build quality, 2: I wanted a keyboard, 3: The nexus S 4G had signal issues. I am however a little dissapointed with the speaker volume of this phone. When playing podcasts in the background while working, I have to have the phone super close to hear it.
I have been having problems with my (non-rooted) Sprint Motorola XPRT failing to update. After I download and attempt to install the update, the phone reboots, I get the installation screen, the yellow bar proceeds approximately 20%. Then I get the screen with a triangle/exclaimation symbol, which flashes on the screen for less than one second -- giving me no chance to press "@" to obtain a reason for why it cannot update. The phone then reboots, and gives me a message saying that the update has failed.I have also tried to update my phone after a hard reset two different ways, including (a) via the menu > privacy > etc, and (b) via the 'hold R and M' keys methods. Today I brought my phone in to the Sprint store, and the tech support employee also attempted a "more low level reset" which he called the "##RTN" (or something like), and even after doing this the update still failed.
The Sprint store tech support employee then searched an internal support forum, and he told me that some, but not all, Sprint Motorola XPRT users have been reporting a similar issue with the update. He said "it looks like Motorola is aware of the problem and is working on it". This update was current as of Nov 2. Because this is an issue that Motorola is currently working on, he said he could not swap out my phone (i.e., pay $35 for a replacement) and that I need to wait until the Motorola fix.
So when I'm texting on this phone, sometimes the shortcuts will randomly pop up, like if I hit the "L" key the calendar will pop up. It's odd because I'm in the text message app, or it happens if I have to type something in Browser. This only happens on occassion. I know it has something to do with the shortcut feature, but I should have to hit another button before they actually pop up.
My applications are not working properly. This problem started about 3 days ago. I tried typying up an email and it froze. The text messaging application froze as well after I typed two words. I wasn't able to press send because the box that says that the application is not working came up. The same thing happens with the calendar application.
First, I have Haptic Feeback turned off in Settings > Sound, but it still vibrates when I tap any of the four soft buttons above the keyboard. Is there any way to turn that off?Second, having had a Admiral before the Xprt, I loved the blue colors included in the interface. The Xprt uses a lot of red, which signifies "trouble" when I see it. Any way to change this red color so it does not appear on menu selections, buttons, etc.
My Xprt was able to connect to my Bluetooth (Q Ant 2) without any issue. Over the past two days it cannot connect. I have removed battery from the phone, Shutdown/rebooted, made it scan for devices, cried/screamed etc. and to no avail. I get an audio prompt from my headset that states ( "Unable to connect") On my Xprt in the Bluetooth section I get "connecting...." then it will sate "paired but unable to connect".
Messaging will not vibrate on ringer or vibrate. Enter messaging menu and click on vibrate: I have done a full reboot of phone, Including removing the battery, Vibrate DOES work for incoming calls. I have the most recent update software.
