I switched over from the Samsung Nexus S because: 1- I love Motorola's build quality, 2: I wanted a keyboard, 3: The nexus S 4G had signal issues. I am however a little dissapointed with the speaker volume of this phone. When playing podcasts in the background while working, I have to have the phone super close to hear it.
Is there a way to adjust/add to the auto-correct dictionary for the physical keyboard of the XPRT? On my SOLD BB9650, this was done the first time I picked up the phone. Now, I can't. This phone (while waiting for Gingerbread), would be THE BEST, if it could fix this little problem...
What are the plans for future software updates for XPRT?Is Gingerbread going to be the last one? Any chance for 4.x?Because, see, as of today XPRT is lagging behind for like a year on Android updates. It was released (June 6, 2011) with outdated FroYo (released May 20, 2010).Now, if stars align, we'll get GB 2.3.5 update (released July 25, 2011) hopefully in August '12.And that also means that phone that's been out only for a year is already 2 major Android versions behind current one.
I can't seem to get my phone to vibrate. I set to "vibrate when in silent mode", then set to silent mode, but no vibration. I have also set vibration to "alwasy" but still nothing.
Firstly - and probably most importantly - sitting right next to my wi-fi router doesn't even produce a full connection to the network (and it disconnects completely in my bedroom, which it never did with the HTC). Is this a known issue with the device? It's really poor.Secondly, seeing as there is only limited space for notification icons in the notification area, can I remove my carrier info (MTN-SA) which permanently displays and takes up a lot of space, causing most of the other notifications to be bumped to the hidden area?oing from a 1gig processor to a 1.2gig dual core - can't say I notice much of a difference, if any? And I was under the impression that newer generation processors were supposed to yield better battery performance
Has anyone notice that 4g has a weak signal sometimes. When I'm on 4g my dbm will be -42 to -89 and it will only show 2 or3 bars of signal and if I switch to 3g it stays full bars it wont drop a bar with the same dbm. Like right now I have -75dbm of 4g and it fluctuates from 2 bars to full signal but it wont stay full long but if I switch to 3g with the same dbm sitting in the same spot it shows full 3g all the time and don't drop a bar. Is 4g just a weaker signal than 3g. I believe I'm on the same tower cause the dbm stays the same. It does this everywhere.
Is it just me or is the external speaker weak on the bionic? I used to have a D1 original Droid which had a great speaker. It seems the one on the bionic is Not as good of quality or as loud.
My wife's phone is constantly dropping calls. I compared the signal test between her Atrix and mine and hers is weaker. We even have the At&t Micro cell and she drops calls. Do I take her phone to the At&t store? We haven't had the phones for 90 days.
I got the Photon because of the raving reviews of signal strength. I'm finding that the signal is weaker and tends to roam more than my Palm pre. Is this normal for a PHOTON? I would rarely roam at work before but find the photon signal roams alot. Is there a setting or something I can do? Maybe a bad phone? My home signal also tends to wildely fluctuate between one bar and five bars.
I noticed immediately that the haptic feedback out of the box was really weak. Oddly, once I installed SwiftKey and adjusted its haptic KB feedback that now the keys are old giving a much stronger feedback.
When I connect to my Home network using wifi, the signal is very weak unless I am within 5 feet of my router. I am using a valet router with up to date software. Other people in my house have other droid models and no problem with their signal strength. I have tried other routers and I get the same result so I know it isn't just my router.

I HAVE BOUGHT A MOTORLA XPRT A MONTH AGO AND I ADDED THE 3G MOBILE HOTSPOT TO IT A WEEK LATER. FOR A WEEK MY PHONE WAS DOING FINE AND THEN WHEN I USE THE 3G MOBILE HOTSPOT I KEEP MY PHONE PLUGGED IN AND THE BATTERY SAYS IT IS CHARGING BUT IT IS DOING THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE AND GOING DEAD. MY PHONE KEEPS TURNING OFF IN 4-5 HOURS AND IT IS SAYING IT IS DEAD. AND ALSO MY PHONE GETS HOT AT THE TOP OF THE PHONE, THE BOTTOM OF THE PHONE STAYS COOL.
Does the XPRT phone need to be activated by Sprint to get a HEX MEID? I have been using the XPRT off Sprint's network since purchase. It doesn't appear that I can activate the device from Sprint Zone while not on their network. Can I phone them to activate the XPRT?
When I am in camera or video mode my screen is black. When I hit the shutter button there is no sound and it goes away. On video I get the same screen but do get the sound when I try to record. There is no picture on either screen and the flash does not go off .
I prefer to use Wifi when I am at home. I'm showing as connected to wifi, but the 3g icon never turns off. Also, the 3g icon shows traffic. I just want to use wifi for all data. Not 3g.
I have a completely stock Moto XPRT running 4.1.15.MB612. When I select to check for updates, it says 4.1.110.MB612 is available so I click to download. I'm on wifi so thankfully it's not too slow. The phone reboots, shows the Android guy doing his thing then quickly boots back in to Android before eventually popping up with the error "failed to update". So I lurked the forums and see to hold the @ symbol down when in recovery and do so, here's what pops up.
I have at least 6 XPRT's in my company that users are complaining they turn on by themselves in the middle of the night. This started happening after the Gingerbread update and has happened on phones that I've done a factory reset on. I've had them remove them from the cases to make sure they are pressing on the power button but the problem persists. I've seen some posts from Droid users having had the same problem and one XPRT user on the Sprint forums.
Could it be an app that get's installed. I've confirmed they are shutting them off and not just putting them in "low power" mode.
at one time i used find a feature on my MOTOROLA XPRT that said PHONE CALLS ONLY which i took as only the number in my contact would be able to call and text me. Can someone tell me where and if my phone does offer that feature?

Currently I'm living in the Netherlands and I own a Motorola XPRT that I bought at Sprint in the US.I'm trying to update my phone to 4.1.110.en.US, the firmware does download, asks me to install.I accept offcourse, the phone reboots, tries to flash new firmware, suddently stops and reboots again and after the phone is fully booted there is a message displayed that says that the update has failed.I already did a factory reset and a hard reset.
i have bought motorola xpert since last week my phine was doing fine then when i use 3 G mobile hotspot i keep my phone plugged in and the battery says it is charging but it is doing complete opposite and going dead. and phone keeps turning off in 4 to 5 hours.
Can anyone explain how to get contacts from a non-Motorola phone into the XPRT so that they show up when the blue contacts button is selected and appear in the phone's phone book, as well as FB, Twitter? When my daughter first started up the phone they were there, but then disappeared and are now not showing the FB and Twitter contacts. Based on other similar questions, it appears that this is a reoccuring issue that hopefully Motorola has addressed.
Yesterday I experienced a random reboot while I was in the middle of a phone call. Anyone else have this problem? I've had this phone for about a year now, and it hasn't ever done that. No apps were running in background either.
