Motorola Droid Bionic :: Lapdock After The Update?
Dec 14, 2011I had 9 apps opened on the phone with firefox running three windows and a video playing before i finally got the low memory warning.. that's a definite improvemnt.. anyone else have any reports on the lapdock after the update.. I ran out of battery on the LD before I had a chance to see if it would freeze the phone up..

Mar 1, 2012I haven't used the lapdock in over a month.Recently attempted to connect and found I am unable.When I connect the lapdock it appears to connect normally, but then flashes back to the phone.While connected, the touch pad and keyboard are not functional. I also noticed I no longer get the options I use to when connecting (specifically no productivity mode).I have tried rebooting the phone, removing battery and repowering and reconnecting, no difference at all.

Oct 25, 2012Since updating to ICS, I can no longer use my lapdock to listen to music at work since the volume goes from off to max and nothing in between.
I also lost firefox and facebook. Webtop 3.0 seems to be just an enlarged version of the phone on the lapdock.

Feb 6, 2012Hardware is only as good as its software. It would seem many of the issues I'm having with my lapdock browser would be cured if it was running the latest versions of flash or if the browser itself was current.
I know Matt stated in the rumors section that ICS is moving along and should be out whenever they can get it ready, so here is my question. Will the lapdock browser be updated in that upgrade?(isn't that seperate from the operating system?)
Will the Flash be updated for the lapdock as well? (it's packaged in the browser isn't it?) Lastly, not entirely unrelated...
why not have a lapdock market place for apps? (i hate loading an app and finding it only runs on the phone dashboard)

Dec 23, 2011I have noticed that the video playback, on the Lapdock, can be really clear, sharp and smooth. Other times it can be a little laggy, not as clear and blocky. (It changes between the two every 5 to 10 min.) Sometimes I've seen a message pop up that says something like, the video is not optimized for mobile. This is streaming thru Firefox, using HBO GO website. (I haven't had a chance to check this with netflix.) I've tried to let the buffers feel up for a few minutes as well.

Jun 14, 2012My lapdock lapdock keyboard goes weird. The d escape key, control key, and several other keys that seem to be involved in the F5 key combination go dead.I have learned to trick it. I do FN-F5 and hit escape and keep hitting the combinations until escape works, then hit control-alt-d which seems to clear the issue.Is there anything I can do to stop it from going into this crazy mode.

Jun 5, 2011Was in an airport this week with a travel companion. Had my LapDock with me and was passing time away on the Web. My companion knew about my equipment and asked if he could use my Hotspot for his laptop. Sure I said.
Then I spent the next several minutes trying to get it to turn on. Finally took the Atrix out of the LapDock and it would turn on. Put it back in the LapDock and he stayed connected and I went back to what I was doing. Turned it off later still docked, but could not turn on again like before.
Searched around for this and found nothing about not being able to turn the HotSpot on while in the LapDock. Turns on/off fine when in my MM Dock. Running 1.8.3 stock at the moment.
Motorola Webtop Docks :: Adding A Printer Driver For Lapdock For Atrix 4G
Dec 22, 2011I just bought the lapdock for the Atrix 4G and I think this is the first generation ($50 from AT&T). In my home network, I have a print server (Trendnet) to which 2 Epson inkjet printers are attached via the 2 USB ports.
Now when I add a printer in the lapdock, it shows me the 2 USB ports (PS-7336E9-U1 and PS7336E9-U2, both of these are standard TCP/IP ports per printer properties on my desktop. I select one of them and just shows me the Postcript or PCL drivers. when I tried to print a test page, it printed all garbage on mulitple pages, whichever of my 2 network printers. Is there a way to install the Epson inkjet drivers so that it will print properly on my lapdock.

Oct 9, 2012I still struggle with the lapdock after the ICS downgrade. 1. Opera seems to work better than the native browser or Chrome. Flash works well on Opera. 2. To help the jumping cursor - Disable the tap to select and use the buttons to right and left click. 3. The latest upgrade on Citrix Beta works well, and I can use Office 2010 on my server. The automatic zoom on tap - I wish I could find out how to disable that. The text select option may work on a tablet but is just frustrating on the lapdock. When I answer the phone, the person calling comes over the phone speaker, not the lapdock speaker - making it difficult to hear them. There is still no support whatsoever. I am very concerned that the update to JB will further impair the lapdock functionality. about JB and the Lapdock?

Feb 29, 2012The track pad on my new 500 does nothing. I'm using a Photon. Everything seems to work fairly well, except for the track pad, which doesn't move the cursor. I can use a USB or Bluetooth mouse and they control the cursor fine. Swiping, dragging, scrolling, clicking, basically any form of movement on the track pad you try does nothing.

Oct 25, 2011I recently made the decision to stop using my headphone jack. To listen to audio, I plug my listening devices into th 3.5mm jacks that are located on the different docks. The problem I have is that a lot of the phone sounds still come through the external speaker. For example, I am watching a movie and I get an email, text msg, or phone call. I can't hear this because my headphones are on. If I plug my headphones into the phone's actual headphone jack, I hear all of the sounds. If I am in the car and a call comes in, the voice comes through the speakerphone. I have to manually hit the speaker button and then the audio comes through my car stereo. Does any know if there is a way to make the audio from the micro usb to work the same as the audio on the headphone jack?

I have it checked and don't know if I'm impatient but you would think a couple of minutes should be enough time. I had screen timeout set to never so I tried it with a timeout set. I was thinking my shirt pocket was not dark enough so I put it in my jeans, still nothing. I even tried sticking it under a pillow and still nothing.

Mar 8, 2012I just found a problem with my Bionic today. I was trying to access my voicemail and had to hit the number 1 on the dial pad during a call to enter my mailbox number.
The number 1 would not do anything during the call. All other numbers worked. If I kept trying to press the number 1 the screen would go black for a second then return with the dial pad. A factory reset did not cure it.
I went to a local Verizon store and the person there told me that this is a known issue and it only happens when the volume is up full. He then said that I have to put the volume down to 1/2 in order for the number 1 to work properly during a call
I called Motorola when I returned home and was told that this is not a known issue - they never heard of it.
Researching on Google and this Forum I have found others that have had this same issue. I have not heard of any resolution yet.
Both Motorola and Verizon Phone Tech Support recommended replacing the phone. Verizon Tech Support was supposed to call me back in an hour after my call with them to see what I wanted to do but never did. I was supposed to keep trying the number 1 after they had me force stop and clear the dialer and virtual keyboard. The problem still exists.
I only have a matter of hours before my 14 days is up at Verizon at which point I will be given a refurbished phone. For some reason I could not log onto this forum today to post this. I just now got in.
Do any other owners of the Bionic experience this? I don't want to replace the phone if they all do it. It's down to the wire now!
Motorola Droid Bionic :: Wired Headset Will Not Work In Bluetooth Environment
Sep 16, 2011I have found it almost impossible to get a wired headset to work on my bionic when in my car (which has built in bluetooth, and which is bonded to the phone just fine). The only way I can make the wired headset take precedence over the bluetooth, and/or the phone's speaker phone, is to:
1. Make a call in the car (any mode).
2. Plug in headset.
3. Click on the phone's speaker icon (headset works for 1/2 second before sound reverts to bionic's speakerphone).
4. Unplug and plug the headset into the bionic, often 2 or 3 times.
Obviously this sucks and would cause a terrible accident if one were driving and doing all these procedures. I have read every documentation on the phone to no avail. I have called Motorola twice, to no avail (and was hung up on by the tech), and called Verizon tech, who also hung up on me.

Nov 22, 2012I'm currently using software version 2.3.6 (GINGERBREAD) and my phone keeps telling me that my phone is ready to update to 67.21.125.en.US (ICE CREAM SANDWICH - US). I am able to download it, and when it restarts my phone the little android unpacking symbol shows up like it is installing just fine. When it finishes all the normal startup screens are displayed, but when the phone is ready to use, it says update failed. I'm not sure why this is happening. I've tried it while charging, while not charging, while on WIFI, while using only cell data, while in airplain mode, and every other way I can think of. Motorolla even lists it as being available to update as of October 12th this year, but I'm still not able to get it working.
