Don't think am mad reopening this subject but according to this forum and Motorola website[url]..cannot send/receive SMS and Dan has posted about SyncSMS, but I wanted to post about 3G UK unlocked Xoom can receive SMS, I was a bit hesitant to post about this as I was afaraid Motorola would remove this function but was also happy to take the risk to check whether anyone has noticed the same.
I just realized that as of April 19, I have not been able to send anything on my Outlook Exchange email accoutn. It's receiving just fine, but my Outbox is full of unsent mail! I remember a problem we had in the past with not being able to reply to messsages, but these are both replies and new messages. My settings are all exactly the same as my DroidX phone, which sends just fine. I have a command at the top of my Outbox that says "Send All Messages," but it doesn't do anything.I've rebooted a couple of times, with no change.
My Xoom wifi only US will receive officially the JB? If it don't, will u lock his bootloader too just like u did to my photon? coz i'm already done with motorola in cellphones, i wish it wouldn't happen with tablets as well. But honestly motorola seems not to care much about them, only with a new phone every month, and kickng the back of old phone owners. That's why i'm selling my photon and i got me an unlocked bootloader Galaxy Nexus?
I see you have updated the locked update topic. Once again I did not receive any email notification.I did verify that the topic is aware that I should be receiving them.
I have set up my primary gmail on my new xoom and can read and send mail, but cannot get at my contacts, possibly because my main access on the PC is using THunderbird.I have tried to set up my7 secondary gmail account (which works OK on any PC with any browser, rather than Thunderbird) on the Xoom, but Google cannot find it. Several attempts have failed. I have typed the user name and password very carefully
I recently got a razr and am using it on a vodafone nz network. I can't seem to send or receive MMS messages. I copied the APN setting from my old htc legend which could send and receive MMS messages fine.
I'm using the following settings:
Select Name, enter VF MMS and tap OK.Select APN, enter live.vodafone.com and tap OK.Enter the user name and password listed below. If no value is listed, leave the field blank.
I have a xxxxxxx@live.com.au email account, I am able to receive emails fine but I can not send or reply any emails. What are the settings I need to have in the outgoing server for this to work. I have the port at 587 and I have the 'use secure connection' ticked. I'm also not sure what the 'use secure password (TLS)' & the 'authentication' is meant to be set at
Text messages converted to MMS (pictures) are undeliverable and unreceivable on 3G. Those same messages do seem to eventually get delivered if Wifi is enabled.
When using the gmail on the Xoom, I can find my groups, however I am unable to select a whole group to send an email to, it appears I have to do individual names which to me defeats the purpose of a group?
I failed to find a way to send a plain text email from Xoom Gmail app. Does any know if it is possible at all? Some mainling lists are not accepting HTML emails and it is very inconvenient.
this is honestly the worst phone I have ever owned. I had a blackberry that about a month ago stopped getting about half the emails I should have gotten. After a month of talking with IT about this and trying all kinds of fixes I gave up and decided to get and android phone to bypass the blackberry servers I assumed were the culprit. Well I am going to return this phone tomorrow and use my blackberry again. Yes, after 5 days of trying ever possible setting I have given up. I had the emails working for about 5 minutes and then after setting up a gmail account they stopped. I did a reset on the phone thinking this would help. Nope. And today mysteriously my old gmail account showed up even though I never set it up. Google is evil. And this phone is a piece of crap.
One of the big problems with this phone are the additional security settings under the advanced settings for incoming and outgoing servers. Out of about 10 Motrola IT people I talked to on the phone or chatted with had no idea what these were. I kept asking if they were for SSL and no one knew. Then yesterday I was told by the only intelligent person they are an additional secruity password you can get from your ISP and are similar to SSL keys. I had them checked (the port numbers will automatically change) the first time I had the phone working. But unchecked them and was able to sent two emails to my own email address and yet received no other emails yesterday as a test. Today I tried to send myself another email and it didn't go through though it appeared on my desktop.
As soon as my phone had installed the latest update, i lost the ability to send or receive text messages. The only time I can send or receive is if i am on a phone call. As soon as the call is done, my text messaging is non-functional. I have no issues with calls/internet browsing/apps...just text messaging.
Furthermore, i do not know if this a phone issue or an AT&T issue.
I've had the Motorola Atrix for a few days now and I've found out that when I compose an email or try to reply one using the default app it gets stuck in the Outbox folder.
i am currently on at&t and having send recieve problems on my defy xt 535 iv taken it to my local at&t store had myAPN data added still am unable to send or recieve pictures even on wifi
We got a Flipside for my husband in April, 2011. Since then we have had to do 3 hard resets and he still can't send or receive text messages due to low internal memory. Today, it can no longer connect to the internet. I connected the phone to the computer to try to troubleshoot it and that doesn't work. I really want to throw it out the window! We have always owned Nokia phones and never had this problem. We got the Flipside when his Backflip started acting up, The next day - the Backflip started working.
My iPhone 4S has been working on and off for as long as I've had it. There are times when I can't make or receive calls or send or receive texts. When I attempt to make a call, it never rings and when I try to end these calls, it doesn't register that the call has ended. People receive these calls but when they answer, there is silence. If people call me, I don't get any notification of this.
When I send texts, the loading bar at the top of the page never reaches the end - the same things happens: people receive the texts but when they reply it never reaches me.I have replaced the phone and it did t make a difference. I am with Vodafone and I'm always in full reception when this happens. When I connect to wifi, the text messages (but not missed calls) come through.
I have an iPhone with sprint, and it has worked more than amazingly prior to this. It wasn't until last night around 12am that this started. I have had the phone for 4 to 5 months now. The bars in the top left are flat and occasionally one will pop up. I can t make calls and texts are slow to or just don't send at all. I was messing around on my download app in the browser and it closed and then thu problem arises. I have deleted the app even turned on and off my phone several times and turned airplane mode on and off several times. Please help:/ this is not an issue with location, and everytime I make calls it just says "calling mobile..."
I have had my Blackberry 9700 since July 2010 with no problem until this past week it has stopped making and receiving phone calls and I can't send or receive SMS. When I try to make a call, it instantly comes up with "Call Failed". I have talked to my carrier (o2) and they too cannot come up with a fix, there is no issue from there part as the sim card works fine on another phone. Strange thing is I can still use the internet on 3G, send and receive emails and my BBM works.
In Manage Connections >> Services Status, it says:
Status: not available Connection: not connected Blackberry internet service: Connection: Mobile network
So I had music on my xoom but accidently deleted it. I tried going in my computer files to copy and paste songs from my itunes into my folder on xoom called music but says wrong format. I don't know what to do.
I bought the device few days ago and on very same day updated to Android ver. 3.2. I use internet over my home Wifi and have a Netgear - WGR614 router. The browsing speed is very very slow and most sites dont open. The signal strength shown in xoom is - (-105 dBm 3 asu).Is this a issue with Android 3.2 update or my home wifi is weak? Would i be able to reset the tab to the original version?
Has anyone had any success with using Wifi that required user certificates? I'm trying to get my Xoom to connect to the corporate network (EAP-TLS) and followed the instructions for the IPad and imported my certificated into Android correctly. But when I connect, it hangs at the connecting state for minutes, before finally giving up.
I would like to buy the XOOM speaker dock and play music from my XOOM on a daily basis.... I'm worried about having it plugged (and charging) in too much and that I might GREATLY reduce the battery life by charging my XOOM too much.
i'm using BB Bold 9780 having 6.0 Bundle 863. I'm not able to send or recieve MMS. whenever i send MMS it gives Red "X" sign. have spoken to customer care of service provider
