I'm a little concerned about the calorie counts it's been giving me; they seem too high. Has anyone else had this issue? Could it be my unit, or was I just underestimating my calorie burn before?

I just rollerbladed for 1 hour and 13 minutes, for 8 miles. I am 275 pounds. It told me I only burned 183 calories. That can't possibly be correct. The GPS did track the whole route, and it did get the whole amount of time. What is the issue with this?
I do have my MotoACTV set up correctly with my height, weight, and age.
I've been a MotoACTV user for just over two weeks now and woke to find that my shake to wake function and calorimeter/pedometer aren't working. My device is not paired with any phone and because it's new, it's got the most recent s/w already installed. I checked the Wake Device field on the watch and it was set. Am I missing something or is there an exsiting problem for these symptoms? The MotoACTV s/w version MA 1.7.12 N8.

I would also like to use it in spin class but the bike don't have any ANT+ sensors - so a heart rate/calorie burn mode would be nice. How to use the device for a spin class? Also, how is the calorie burn calculated? Is it based on height, weight, age, etc. with an algorithim or is it simply based on a typical condition (basically guessing the burn)?Is it possible to upload my New Leaf testing profile to the device?

This morning when I went to put on the device, Steps Count was at Zero (As Expected) and Calorie Count was at 3500. I would tyically see a count of 500 - 600 in the morning. View 11 Replies View RelatedI am currently using a variable stride elliptical trainer Precor 100i.When using device with watchband, the step count always shows zero.When using the device with armband, the step count is very inconsistent depending on the orientation on the arm (i.e. 40 50 % Difference Between workouts).When using the device with the hip clip the device is consistent within 5% which is good enough.In regards to the watchband. The directions say to not place your hands on the stationary part of the Elliptical.That make sense and since my hands are on the moving parts of the Elliptical I would assume that the multi-axis accelerometer would not have an issue keeping the step count.

As a test I set a goal to walk 200 miles. Since then I have logged 2 rounds of golf (10 miles) but the miles do not count towards my walking goal. But they do count towards my second goal of working out 3 times a week. How do i fix this since golf is my primary walking sport. I want credit for the miles to show in my goal.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI synced up my run wirelessly and on the watch it says it successfully completed. I sign on to the website, and I notice the new splash screen (portal update?) and my run is not on it. I can't even view the runs at all. Anytime I click on past runs, it just has those new screens telling me all the cool things portal can do.
Is this because of the updating? I'm on 1.7.3 N8, and new motocast software too.
I like my MOTOACTV, just want some type of clarity on problems. I'd rather see a "site down for a scheduled maintenance" than not being able to do anything on the site.
I've been using the custom workouts feature on Moto since the weekend. I have noticed that the custom workouts do not show up as the latest workout (my elliptical workout from Sunday is still showing as the latest). My custom workouts are also not showing up in the workout tab, neither in bar view nor table view. The only way I can access custom workouts on the portal is up top on the days of the week in the schedule. Is this a glitch with the new portal that is going to be ironed out?

Each time I check my settings, the custom HR zones that I programmed are marked as currently active, but all my workouts are showing as the default zones set by Motoactv. View 8 Replies View RelatedI purchased a new bike, and changed the setting default profile for cycle to MTB2, and I changed the tire size 29 after I noted the problem after the first run that the ACTV was set to the default cycle, (I guess) but since I started riding this bike the milage and mph have been off, the first ride was showing I think it was 22 miles, it was on 1 apr 2012, you can check my workouts, but we really rode about 27 miles. Today I rode exactly 22 miles and it was showing a little over 20 miles?
I hope I've missed something in the settings, I can't use this if its not accurate, plus I used it for 1 hour and 45 minutes today and the battery was almost at 0%? This is a problem considering that I will be doing 100 miles rides, which can take several hours.

Did a running fitness test this evening and it gave me the audio prompt that I'd completed it. Its showing on the portal as having been completed, but its still showing on the watch as planned even after I sync'd.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had to make a quick post on an odd (to me, at least) experience with my DX2.First of all, since 2.3.4, my phone's operation and stability has been greatly improved; however, transitions between homescreens was still a little rough. Not unusable, but noticeable. Then I saw a post somewhere on this site where the user mentioned that homescreen transitions improved when he installed launcher pro. I had used LP on my former Droid-based phone, but had never bothered to reinstall it when I upgraded. Frankly, I've enjoyed using the Moto UI and learning how to do things the "Droid way" instead of the "LP way." But I've been very pleasantly surprised at how much installing LP has improved my overall UI experience. It's silky smooth, and I swear my live wallpaper is running more smoothly and responsively as well.

speaking ... "Call Mom mobile" - This comes up w/ the display that's about to call a number, but it has the wrong number. The screenshot has the number blocked out and I aded "Wrong Number" on top of it, but so people could see what stage I'm at.This also occurs using the autocomplete when sending a text message. I type in "mom" and the WRONG contact shows up in the drop down below (wrong name, wrong number). *** It is important to note here that the WRONG contact that shows up in this case MATCHES the wrong contact that shows up w/ Voice Search.This used to work just fine, I've used it for months. But it's recently stopped working.
So, using "People" (which is listed as "Contacts" in manage apps?! - so, under Apps, only "People" is listed, no "Contacts" ... under manage apps, no "People" entry is listed, only "Contacts") on my phone - entry for "Mom" is NOT present. But, an entry using her first / last is there. The number is present, the wrong number is not.Getting online to check my contacts directly with google - there IS an entry for "Mom", with the correct number, the wrong number is not there. If I do a search for the wrong number, it takes me to the correct contact (not Mom), if I search for Mom's number, it pulls up the correct contact (Mom).
From the home screen if you go to "All apps" (btw.... I have 6 and a half pages of apps) and go to the second page of apps and hit the "Search" button at the bottom right hand side of your Atrix 2, it will result in a Force Close of the (process com.motorola.home). I have restarted my phone multiple time and have also taken out the battery. I have 3.7GB of free space on my Internal storage.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have noticed for some time now that my Droid can sometimes lose some of the recurring events in my calendar. They "dissapear" even when I haven't made any changes to those events. (If it happened once, I would admit that I may have done something and forgotten. But, I've had the problem for a while and am very careful with recurring events because of it.) Toggling the sync in the Settings>Accounts and Sync section sometimes helps, but often the best workaround is to make some minimal change to the event by logging in to Google Calendar and resave it. I typically add a space to the end of the event name. Once I do this, the future events appear on my Droid once again. Because this workaround does the trick, I assume this is a bug and not user error.
