Am I missing something here? Should the MotoACTV bike speed/cadence sensor be tracking power/watts itself of is there another accessory that I need to get? It's recording all other info without difficulty. I've only used it about 3 times but always get a 0/0 when it comes to the power/watts reading.
View 2 RepliesI've just tried to do a cycling fitness test in a gym on a standard gym bike bike (lifecycle fitness) but it wouldn't let me start with just a HRM , it gave me a message saying I had to have a Bike Sensor. So is there no way to do a fitness test on a bike without having to spend more money? I do have a road bike, but I'd like the option to do this in a gym without shelling out more.i can see theres "stationary bike" profile, but this doesn't have the option for a fitness test.(BTW - I also tried a quick start indoors cycling workout and got the same message (connect a bike sensor to start an indoor ride)

View 1 Replies View Relatedhow to easily switch bike profiles? I have two bike profiles set up, and when I start a workout I would like to be able to select the bike profile for the bike I am riding. I can't select the bike when designing a workout in the portal, and the only way to change the bike on the device is to change the default bike in the settings prior to starting the workout. Seems like it would be simple to just tap the bike profile and switch to a different bike before you hit the start workout button.

I want to buy an ant+ Cadence sensor which is really inexpensive and I'd like to know if I could pair it and use it as a SPEED sensor for my bike. Since a cadence sensor just counts how often the magnet passes by it then I guess they are the same as speed sensor.What would be the steps to complete this? or are the profiles baked in the firmware of the sensors and there's no way for the Motoactv to profile it as a different type of sensor?

When an ANT+ speed sensor is used with the MotoACTV, does it get used for distance as well, or just speed? I commute in downtown Chicago and would welcome the more accurate distance measurement in addition to the GPS route tracking.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using my MA with ANT+ HR Monitor sensor nearly every day since I got this as a Christmas present for a several hours.I noticed at the end of about 3 months that the HR Sensor was flacky, so I replaced the 2032 3 volt battery in the sensor.This seemed to fix the problem.The device worked well for a few more weeks and than I was having similar problems, so I replaced the battery a 2nd time.Yesterday, I was able to use the HR Sensor for my morning workout, but the sensor was no longer transmitting when I went for a 5 mile walk.i replaced the battery again and repaired the sensor with the device.It seemed to connect fine, but there is not any live data being displayed from the HR sensor.I have tried repairing the sensor and it will pair, but their is no data being recieved by the MA device.Has anyone else had problems like this with their ANT+ HR Sensor?
View 5 Replies View RelatedHowever, after the latest update, the battery life, even when doing nothing, is terrible. I had it charged to 100% before I went to sleep last night and when I woke up the battery was dead and the watch was off. Before it would last a couple of days even if I went on a short ride.
I did recently pair it to a Garmin speed/cadence sensor. But the battery was dying, like I said, when I wasn't even biking.
Which brings me to my second question. I got the speed sensor because I hoped that instead of waiting for the GPS to catch up to when I am stopped, that the speed sensor (like the wired one I have on my actual bike computer) would know immeditely when I've stopped and not mess up my average speed by having the time keep tracking when I was standing still. My wired computer has pause and start down to a science. Why can't this? Why is it still using GPS for speed instead of the sensor? Cadence works fine, so I know it isn't a communication problem, I don't think, anyway.

View 13 Replies View RelatedThe unit worked normally for my workout yesterday. This morning I tried to turn it on for my workout, and nothing happens. I plugged it into the computer to see if I had inadvertently killed the battery. The white charging light comes on, but the display doesn't show the battery percentage graphic, and nothing happens when I push the power button. The Motorola charger is at home, so I can't try that until after work.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy nokia crash during video recording when sensor (portrait/landscape) is on. Crash take after random time, usualy 5 to 15 minute. Crash apprear as blank screen and automatic reset of the phone. I use phone as vehicle recorder, so there might me a shakes. Regular turning during recording does not causing the crash.
When I set the sensor setting to off is everyfing correct. I can record 1h movie without any problem.
My Motoactv is not linking to my Tacx Bushido power meter/trainer.

View 3 Replies View RelatedReceived a new 16GB Motoactv this evening. Completed set up of MotoCast on my MAC. Unit was working fine, GPS / Radio etc.
Then checked for software update, it found 4.56.76, downloaded the sw and started to update. After about 30mins the MAC had a box saying updating, do not disconnect and the screen of the unit seems to be cycling. Initially I'd see the red batwings then an image of the unit and the progress bar underneath. The yellow moves about 1/3 along the bar then stops, after a minute or so the unit seems to power cycle > batwings > and so on....
After about 45 mins I disconnected the unit from the USB/MAC, tried a start + pwr reset but I still only get to this cycling mode (batwings > image + progress bar). Unit was charged for about an hour before I started the initial set up.
I've had a MOTOACTIVE for about a month now and I still haven't gotten to grips with the Pace & Power Zone settings. I could be wrong but to me it seems like they're just not working.In the Pace Zone settings the lower and upper limits are all set to meaningless values and I've tried a number of times to set them manually with no luck. Then the Power Zones Templates are completely blank and I am unable to set anything at all.

The best product to date i have used for tracking my gym session.I have noticed that everytime i press the power button, the volume increase and the music section starts ups. Very hard to track my gym work majority of the time as it stops the start button to work.I have updated to the latest version, no change in behaviour.Powering off is not an option as it automatically goes into bootloader mode, very hard to get it out of bootloader mode.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an LG G4 since December 2015 and like many people I found out that "Double tap" to wake the device does not always work.So, I ditched this feature and used only the power button to wake the device.The problem is that even the power button does not always wake the device, many times, a second push being needed to successfully wake the phone.I even called LG support and scheduled a visit to the service center.
Today I think I found the reason why the power button does not always work, at least for my device.I usually leave my G4 with the front facing down, on the desk.When I hear a notification alert or the phone rings, I grab the phone and press the power button while it is still facing down on the desk. Many times in this situation the phone will not wake up.So I started thinking it has something to do with the proximity sensor.To test this, I covered the whole top of the phone (front side) with my palm and pressed the power button. No matter how many times I would press it, the phone will not wake up. At this moment, I will start distancing my palm from the phone while pressing the button every second.Only after the palm is at a considerable distance from the proximity sensor would the phone wake up.I thought about a feature in Android "prevent accidental wake up" but Marshmellow does not have this feature or I could not find it in Settings.
I tried searching the web for other G4 users having the same problem, but found none. Found a couple of posts about the button being defective and a couple of posts about screen protector causing the screen to not wake up after a call or interfering with taps on screen.
So the question is: It is normal for the phone to NOT wake up using the power button if the proximity sensors detects something close to the phone, like the surface of the desk?I could understand "Double tap" not working while proximity sensor detects something and that is why I am not using that feature anymore, but power button?It is working as intended? It is only my device?
On my S4 it would hang up the call without me having to wait until the screen came back on which I liked better .

View 14 Replies View RelatedI've owned the MotoActv for two month, I got the mysterious "moisture issues" that everyone seems to be getting even though I've never used it in the rain. But the thing that is driving me nuts is the music. When I hit random shuffle of all my songs, I hear songs I don't want to hear... song that I do not own on my computer. Where are these songs coming from? Today I heard "Boot Scoot Boogie!" I abhore country music as does my wife. Doing a computer wide search shows no evidence that the song exists on my computer. Yet there it is playing in mile four. Other mystery songs have showed up too. The performance music playlist seems to be filled with songs I never heard of, yet evidently I perform well to them.

after i installed gingerbread for my phone, the light sensor seems to be acting funny. it will light up the soft keys and my keyboard in low light conditions, but once it is pitch black the keys will not light up at all.

I don't seem to have that trigger in the version of smart actions on my new Droid 4, though? Is that a hardware sensor limitation? Or do I need to change a setting somewhere to make that trigger come up in the list?
