Motorola :: Droid X2 Completely Locking Up After Charging Overnight
May 29, 2011
For 2 of the past 3 nights, I have awakened to a locked up phone. After charging through the night as I sleep, in the morning the phone is completely locked up, with a steady "green" led (as though it's still charging) even after unplugging it. I've waited for awhile and it never recovers... eventually I must do a battery pull to get it working again. charging) even after unplugging it. I've waited for awhile and it never
I charge my Defy when I go to bed. When I hit the power button first thing in the morning, the phone response to touch, click, etc.is all slowed down. This goes away when I turn off the phone and turn it back on, but I'm lazy and don't want to reboot every day. (I normally reboot every 3-5 days)
I left my atrix charging at night and when i woke up the next day, the phone is off and wont turn on. Stuff I tried:
- Pulling the battery out, - Charging with another chargers - Charging the battery with an external battery charger - Using a tester to see the battery voltage(it was OK) - Connecting to the computer via USB (solid green led no charge, nor detected by computer)
It wont even turn on, show any errors or messages or leds, my atrix just became a brick by itself out of nowhere, it didnt get wet or fall down or anything like that.
For some reason my xoom doesnt want to charge fully, I thought it was the generic charger I got when I bought it, so I got a motorola charger.... but no change.
I gets to around 60% or so, then the charging icon (or light when powered off) blinks about once every three seconds....
I charge my iPhone every night, overnight in my iHome P90. I was wondering if this can hurl the battery in any way. I used to do this a few months ago but it seemed as if I was getting less usage time from my battery. I was also wondering if unplugging the iPhone before fully charged can hurt the battery in any way (e.g. Charging at 50% and unplugging at 80%).
I woke up this morning and my phone would not turn on. I left it charging overnight. I tried a different wall plug to see if that was the problem but it is not. I don't know what to do!
Left my phone on charge overnight, this morning it was off, it starts the loading bar and then switches off. The red Led comes on shortly when I try to charge but it never progresses past this. I have disconnected the battery but no resolve, I tried connecting to my laptop and still nothing.
Looked thru the archives and couldn't find this topic. My DROID X started locking up last night when I was doing an email. It's locked up several times today, too. I've been trying to see a pattern to it. Email or text messaging, it's when I hit one of the punctuation keys. Either the period, question, or exclamation mark, each time. I've not put any new apps on my phone since Wednesday. Anyone else have this happen? Suggestions on how to stop it or fix it? Only way I could get out of it was to power it off, but this last time, I had to pull the battery as it wouldn't even power off.
I've created a folder on one of my home screens named, "Finance."I've placed about ten apps in said folder (e.g., Quote Pro, Tradefiields, Tip Calc, Bank of America, etc. etc.)I'm attempting to keep like apps together (i.e., all stock apps appearing as the first few apps, followed by "bank related apps, followed by types of calculators, etc.)However, everytime I arrange these apps in this manner, then return later, they are all mixed up, no longer honoring my attempt to categorize them. There is no rhyme or reason as to how they then appear, as far as I can discern. They do not then show up as alphabetized, or any other logical way, ah!, unless by size of app or something like that, you think? all that said, does anyone know of a way to "lock" apps in the order they are placed, so as they remain grouped?
What happened is that I kept my Moto X gen 1 phone for charging at 11 pm in the night and was supposed to remove it after an hour or so, since i anticipated that it will be fully charged by then. However, i fell asleep and then woke up at 6. As a result, my phone got OVERCHARGED for nearly 6 hours straight. And this has happened TWICE.
Though Motorola claims that the battery is "over-charge proof", i think there is a possibility that there must have been some little damage to it, since this occurred twice.
I turn my phone off before bedtime and plug it in to charge. The alarm still goes off at the time I have it set and when I go to hit "snooze" the phone is on.
This just happened. It's happened before in the past. When I open the maps application, it will completely lock up the phone and I have to do a battery pull.
Got the bionic gps locked instantly and withing 6-10 meters. This morning i tried navigation to find dentist new location. The gps never locked so it was useless to me. I did not change anything either. I left gps on entire time i was in dentist office when i came out still no lock. Just now after about 20 minutes screen on it locked but one problem its off more than 3/4 of a mile.
i also got a threatening private message from him stating i'm not to talk bad about the razr, but it's ok for others to diss the bionic all day long rather rude and uncalled for, considering i'm a moto customer.the post in question that he deleted was indeed in the razr forum too.thought this was a discussion forum for opinions?
I just updated last week to Gingerbread but this was happening before that. I plug my phone into my factory charger and when I go to unplug it it says it is still charging. Dosent go away until I reboot the phone, any ideas? When it is fully charged the green led even stays lit. Dosent do it all the time just enough to be annoying. I really dont want to trade my phone for a reconditioned one since it is only three weeks old.
So, I've had data loss all the time and it's not too troublesome cause it always comes back. However, this time it hasn't come back. My 3G connection has been dead for three days. I work in 4G and its fine, but when I come home in 3G it's completely gone. I've tried everything short of knocking it around like an old tv set.
I'm having a recurring problem where after fully charging my Bionic for the night, the Wi-Fi function will disable itself completely. When I say "completely", I mean that there is no way I can turn it back on! When I go into the "Wi-Fi" or "Wi-Fi Setting" function in Settings, the "Wi-Fi" button is displayed in gray instead of solid black, so I can't even select it at all.
So i've read that there has been an update to 6.12.173.XT912.Verizon.en.US.Mine still reads 6.11.748.xt912 and when I check for updates it tells me its up to date no update is necessary at this time.Any clues on why I can't update? My phone is completely unmoddified.
I found that after my phone has been on for a period of time (hours or a day maybe) my screen will dim but not go completely dark. That is, normally it dims after about 20 seconds, then goes off a few seconds after that - like it seems it should. But after some hours of use it will dim after a prescribed time period but never go dark unless I tap the power button. If I shut down the phone and start it up it seems to work properly again for a period of time before it starts exhibiting the same behavior.
handsfree bluetooth completely not working after the Gingerbread update? I have an 08 Titan with the built in bluetooth and everything worked perfectly on Froyo. Since the OTA update, I can pair and connect but can't actually hand the call off to bluetooth. I try selecting bluetooth on the in call screen and it seems like it tries but I get no audio at all and it just kicks back to normal phone call mode. Speaker works.
I have a Droid Turbo, and on both KitKat and Lollipop you have to change volume settings separately. I'm always turning down my volume, just to get a full blast text alert that startles me right out of my seat. On previous phones (including other Motorola droids) all notification volume settings were linked and changed as one. Why is that not a thing anymore? How does that not just make the most sense? I know there are apps out there that could do this, but I don't want to have to download another app to simplify something that should be simple in the first place.
I have been having issues with my screen locking up after the screen times out and shuts off or when I turn the screen off. This dosent happen every time but at least once or twice a day. The power button will turn screen on and off but the screen is totally unresponsive to my inputs. I have tried factory resting it to no avail.
Last night my I Phone 4S quit charing at all. Prior to tht time, no signs of battery weakness were evident. Full charge took less than a hour. The charging unit appears fine, since the phone will also not charge on my car adaptor.
I'm well aware that these aren't flip phones and especially with some of the beefier hardware (ie. 950) it takes a while to get the phone to boot if you let it die completely. Until this point that "while" has usually been a few minutes. I let my battery completely die for the first time since owning my 950 and it's been plugged into the wall for about 30 minutes and still won't boot. I just get the empty battery icon.
I have the Droid X dock plugged into a Belkin 7 port usb hub that puts out .5A/per port. I have the usb port set for charging only but it doesn't seem to be charging the battery. Do I need a usb hub with higher output current? I've used low power chargers and they take longer but seem to work fine.
When I plug in my torch at first the bolt comes up but then half way through charging the plug comes up and it isn't finished charging. What can I do about this.
