I am on call two weeks out of four and need to keep my phone on overnight, but I don't want to be disturbed by any notifications (texts, emails etc.) apart from phone calls. My BlackBerry had a very simple way of doing this, but it doesn't appear to be possible on the Atirx. I hope I'm wrong, but there doesn't appear to be anything for this in Settings.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI prefer to use to ring tones and rely on vibrate mode, but the native vibrate is so short and weak that I miss it most of the time. I have tried a doze apps that are suppose to let you customize vibrations and the like. I can get none of them to work. The best I an hope for is that my original vibrate still works (the stock "2 short vibrates"). In many cases installing the app disables the vibrate mode alltogether. I have read some things about turning off the "stock" vibrate, etc. but those instructions are very unclear and I haven't found a way to make it work. I'm frankly shocked at the lack of "built in" customization of notifications. But even if I need to get an app to do it, how in the world can I make that app work. My old benighted Blackberry was better at notifying me.

I have been into settings and can't find any way turn notifications off. Under the heading 'Notifications', I do not have the option of a check box to turn off the notification sounds.All I have is a drop down menu entitled, "Notification Ringtone". Within this menu, I have the options "Android System", "Handcent SMS" and "Zedge ringtones". None of these allow me the option of silencing the phones notification sounds.
What is happening is that I'm getting a double 'notification' tone every time I get a text, and it's driving me crazy. I get an overall notification beep from the phone, then a secondary tone from the Handcent app. And I really want to silence ALL of the phones overall notification sounds, and only receive the ones from the Handcent app when I get a text.
I don't know about that I mean because my phone always constantly beeps in unusual moments during phone calls.with or without blue tooth, alsop activated or not. this search for my problems the reason why I'm here is getting very saddening

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have searched everywhere for a solution to this problem and am wondering if anyone else is experiencing the sameproblem. During a call, when asked to enter my phone number, passcode, etc., the keypad disappears every time I try to press a key. When I get a key to press it stays on long and disrupts the call I am on. It makes it difficult to use my phone to call in to call centers as I cannot press the numeric option I need.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have owned my Atrix for about 3 weeks and it constantly switches back and forth from 3G to EDGE, rinse and repeat. It does this about 30-40 times per day. I have a very strong 3G signal in my area and I notice that my Atrix does this MORE OFTEN than my iPhone 4.Also, I am dropping a lot of calls on the Atrix compared to the iPhone 4, which I was really surprised to see this happening. I do have all of the latest software updates installed on the Atrix.One more thing, I noticed that on AT&T you can't install from "Unknown" sources, hence I would like to take advantage of the daily specials on the Amazon android store and I am unable to do so without the option on the phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter my Atrix was updated last week, I have been having problems (as with many others, it seems). My most glaring issues is that the screen does not go 'inactive' when I place a phone call and put the phone up to my ear.
Consequently, my cheek will press all sorts of buttons on the phone while I'm talking, and may times it turns out to be the Mute or EndCall button. When the End Call is hit, the phone actually locks up and needs to be rebooted.
It basically makes me have to place all of my phone calls on speakerphone in order to be useful.
