When i convert video to mp4 mode and sync it to my atrix it won't play. It saids file cannot be displayed or played. i have tried couple mp4, the h264, mpeg-4, all doesn't play in my phone.

I'd like to have some sample videos on my phone to show clients and potential clients, but a short test video I converted into mp4 gets an error message "File cannot be displayed or played".The file is not large nor long - 848x480,18MB, 1 minute 48 sec.compressed via Sorensen Squeeze v6 with MainConcept H264 codec at 1388kbps.

It gives me the error: File cannot be displayed or played.MoboPlayer, a third party video player, will play the files fine. QuickPic's player will not. Nor will the bundled app RockPlayer Lite.I reformatted the SD card within the DX2 (it was the same 16 GB card that I took from my DX) before I transferred any video files to it.Anyone have any ideas about what I can try? I would rather use the default Video Player app.Also, the playback using MoboPlayer seems a bit choppy. I was expecting much smoother playback on the DX2 with it's dual core processor and improved graphics accelerator hardware.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been noticing my videos will not save properly after I record something. It doesn't happen with every video and I can't seem to replicate the problem at this time. I can shoot consecutive clips and one may save properly and the other will not save. When I go to my film strip, an icon will hold the spot of where the file should be. When I click on it, I get an error message reading, "File cannot be displayed or played."

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had the atrix since it came out with a 32gig sd card, I store all my videos/pictures on it. I have never had any problems. After the 4.1.57 updated I have been having issues. Im not blaming the update I dont know what is wrong but its somthing I did look into.I record Videos, and then my phone will not play themback, It will show a preview of the video but then say "file cannot be displayed or played". Sometimes it lets me watch the video at first, but then the next time i go to watch it I get that error and its for good i wont be allowed to watch the video again.As for the pictures, Ill take pictures and it will show a preview of the picture but it wont let me click it and view it . I do not get a error msg with the pictures, It just simply wont let me view the pictures. Transfer those files that i cant watch or view to my computer, and my computer says it doesnt reconize the file format. But then when I look at the file type of that file that isnt working with a file that does work on my computer, its the same exact file fromat so i dont understand that?
I at first did pull out my sdcard/sim/battery didnt solve the problem. so i did a factory reset and that still didnt fix the problem. I also tried to switch the videos/picture that isnt working onto my external space on my phone and I get the same deal. Im also allowed to play music just find off my sdcard, its only videos/pictures my phone is having problems with. This is very frusterating since I use my camera almost everyday, and my sons first birthday is coming up this saturday and i wanted to record it all and burn it to a dvd but that is starting to seem unlikey and this is very frusterating. I called motorola and Im told to call back monday to talk to a higher level tech when there open.
I've gone into MyMotoCast and played the music that way, as well as the Music app (looks like headphones), but for some reason through MotoCast it isn't working. I know it can't have anything to do with my purchasing the music through iTunes because the I've tried both iTunes purchased music as well as CDs that were uploaded.

1. i noticed that for some contacts that have 4 phone numbers and 2 emails, the phone numbers are all jamed together in one line, rather than listing them one by one. any idea how to fix it? by the way, the contacts are maitained in my google mail/contacts already.
2. how to add a voice tag to a name/contact? i found my atrix had hard time recognizing a name and always messed it up with other contacts. so i want to find a way to make it easier for the phone to recognize it when i say "Call xxx" (some especially for some non english names).
When I try to play an AVI video file (from an 808 keychain camera) that I copied from my computer to the phone SD card, the file comes up & plays but all I get is audio with a blank/black screen. The files play fine on the computer. I tried small ( 8mg ) files but no difference. I use the stock media player w/ flash player which has worked great for everything up till now. OS is 2.3.6.

The music right now would mostly come from CDs. I can never seem to make Windows Media Player do what I want it to do, and so syncing from that has not been much fun, although it has partially been successful.I just discovered Moto Phone Portal (MPP), and so I thought I might use that to transfer music by just moving files by WiFi, but I cannot get the File Manager in MPP to work. All other parts of the software appear to work just fine. When I click on the File Manager tab, and then choose either "Internal" or "External", nothing happens after that. I prefer the WiFi to USB since I'm too lazy to drag out the USB cable.This is on a Windows Vista computer, using either Firefox 4 or Internet Explorer 9 (same result either way).
View 11 Replies View Relatedi have an Atrix 4g (stock)running gingerbread 2.3.6 i noticed a file listed as LOST.DIR. on my internal memory when i open it the names of the files are listed as numbers ranging from 92 to 1315. 126 files in total. when i try to open them it keeps saying "unable to open this type of file". when i long click it for file options and click info it shows me file properties with the following info "? 98 TYPE:FILE, FOLDER:/MNT/SDCARD/LOST.DIR, SIZE: 4KB, MODIFIED ON: DEC 31, 1979 7:00PM". every file size is 4kb and they all say modified on Dec 31, 1979 @ 7:00pm. can any one out there please tell me what this is and if they are safe to delete or how to restore the files. i am very confused about the modified date, i was 2yrs old in 1979
View 4 Replies View RelatedOne problem I am having is that I will occasionally get an error message when trying to play a media file that I know the phone supports that says "the player does not support this type of file", or something like that. If I turn the phone off and back on, it plays fine, but will then give me the error later on in the day. The types of files I am trying to play are mp3 and xvid avi. One idea I have is that the music player widget is cause the problem because if you play an mp3, but then try to do something else while it plays(multitask) it will not play in the background like it used to. You have to actually go into the media player and create a now playing list. This is very annoying to me as I play a lot of media on my phone throughout the day and currently have to restart my phone 2 or 3 times.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to transfer my music, ringtones to my new atrix 4g and from what I have gathered from various postings I need to make separate folders for everything...such as notifications, ringtones, and texting tones. Seems kind of silly to me since some of these files have dual functionality and I do not want to have the same file in multiple folders to serve different purposes.
If there is a list of suggested folder locations/names for the atrix either on an sd card or the onboard memory I cant seem to find it anywhere. To sum up my request I would hopefully like a single folder where I can have all my tones for ringtones, notifications tones, and alarm clock tones including being able to attach specific ringtones to contacts in my address book.
I noticed, using Android File Transfer AND USB Mass Storage, some flakiness. The drive/directories are usually detected but in the process of a copy, it fails then won't recognize the Atrix HD unless I unplug and re-connect.

Songs are also cutting out/off more frequently this morning - but i see there are service issues.

For example one is ac3 @ 192k and it plays just fine while another is 640k and says i need an ac3 filter. to play any obviously ffdshow is installed and working to play any ac3. I am confused, I have mainly avi and mkv files.
View 15 Replies View RelatedUsing the stock File Manager app I can see audio files on my Maxx HD's internal storage and also on the SD card. I happen to be looking at ringtone files. If I tap on the filename to play the ringtone, Amazon Cloudplayer pops up and shows all the music files on my SD card. No ringtones can be found. If I back out of Amazon Cloudplayer and use the file manager to try finding and playing ANY audio file on EITHER my SD card or the internal storage I get sent to Amazon Cloudplayer. I then have to use the back button to get back to the file manager icon in the App drawer. Same thing happens if I try to play audio files on my SD card. Amazon Cloud Player pops up. I don't want to use Amazon Cloud Player to play an audio file in SD storage.
If I connect my phone to my PC and navigate to the ringtones on internal storage and click on them they play as per usual (Windows media player). If I use my PC to play audio files on the SD card they play as usual.Why does my phone default to Amazon Cloud Player when I tap on an audio file in File Manager? What is the stock audio file player on the Maxx HD? Why can't I browse to an audio file with the file manager and tap on it and have it play? How do I fix this?
id like to buy one of those over 3000mah batteries for my atrix 2 , but where i live i can only find this batteries for the atrix 4g and im not sure if it works on the atrix 2.

The song title and album artwork appear just fine, but a lot of my music just shows up as Unkown Artist. It is also showing up on my motoactv.com page as Unkown. I sync my playlists from iTunes. My shuffle can read me the name of the artist for the same songs, and they show up correctly on my iPod touch, and in iTunes. Does anyone else have this problem?

I completely understand not rendering an updated clock when the screen is disabled, but this needs to occur instantly when the display is awakened. Currently the lag can be around 10/15 seconds (I've not measured precisely, but I can wake the screen by shaking at least 3 times and let it blank again before an update).

The music has been synced via the MotoCast sychronisation to the directory /mobile/ mml/wmp is is categorized on first level into directories named by the artist and on second level into directories namedby the album.After some work I managed to get the album art be displayed in MotoCast for almost all albums, except a few. For those I see the album art on my PC from which the syncing happend in the windows media player and in Mediamonkey. I also see the album art in the "Cover Art Downloader" and in the "Cover Art Grabber". But in MotoCast it is not there ...!!?
Is there any clear specification available what "album art" is displayed in MotoCast? It seems to be cached somehow beyond the normal caching of the list of media files by the Android "media storage".
Since I upgraded to ICS, the names of businesses listed in my contacts have become scrambled. Proper names still display in the correct format (LAST NAME, FIRST NAME) as I want them to. However, business names are now split randomly. I just got a Motorola Defy (the Scandinavian version, with Android 2.2.2), and I'm very happy with it so far. However, there is a strange little bug in it: Every time I type ":-)" in a text message, it will be replaced with a "sad face" icon (). And every time I type a capital letter "B", it is replaced with a "sunglasses" icon () in the message.
