Motorola Motoactv :: Fix For Incorrect Time Displayed By Clock?
May 18, 2012
I'm regularly seeing the incorrect time displayed when I wake the device to check the time. I completely understand not rendering an updated clock when the screen is disabled, but this needs to occur instantly when the display is awakened. Currently the lag can be around 10/15 seconds (I've not measured precisely, but I can wake the screen by shaking at least 3 times and let it blank again before an update).
My Motoactv displays the name for several artists as "Unknown Artist." The song title and album artwork appear just fine, but a lot of my music just shows up as Unkown Artist. It is also showing up on my motoactv.com page as Unkown. I sync my playlists from iTunes. My shuffle can read me the name of the artist for the same songs, and they show up correctly on my iPod touch, and in iTunes. Does anyone else have this problem?
After several weeks of very consistent mileage tracks with my MotoActv (8g model), today my mileage was off by .15 for each of the three miles i ran. My run today occurred up in Winter Park (elevation of 8,600 ft) and the temperature outside was 20 degrees. I have the following settings: Marathon mode, ant + for HR, screen timeout enabled and i have the latest update. Does temperature have an impact? Not sure why but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
Today is my rest day. However, when I sat down to organize my training schedule for the coming week, the schedule was showing a weight training workout completed today. It appears that last Sunday's workout is displaying as completed today. This kind of thing was happening shortly after the big software update in March. This is not the only problem I am currently having and I am bouncing around multiple threads at this time. I reiterate, I am happy with the new features included in the recent update, but I am not so happy with the basic functions that seem to have gone awry in its wake.
how to Delete a incorrect weight value from MotoActv.com, 2) Lock in default metrics (i.e. MPH + Heart Rate as opposed to Pace & always show "non-active days"), 3) Identify how many "real world" laps I've performed in a specific run (aka passing the same point in a 0.65 mile circle around the block), 4) Is there a way to log a "heart rate only" workout (i.e. if I lift weight, play tennis, go boxing, use a row machine or any other non-standard workout ... ideally I'd like to be able to name said workouts as well but, 5) Is there a way to quickly see what song is currently playing on a run (technically I can always go to MotoActv.com after a run to see what songs I didn't like / skipped past and will ultimately remove from my playlist. but it's always nice to see what's playing at that time
For the past couple of weeks, I have had some problems with the HR display. The device will show my HR shifting rapidly from up to 209 BPM down to 0BPM and occasionally to no reading at all. This usually happens at the beginning of a workout and goes to normal after several minutes. I keep my chest strap very clean so I know that it isn't dirt and sweat disrupting transmission. When it first started I assumed that it was a sign of a dying battery but changing it didn't make a difference. This only happens during running and aerobic activities. With weight training and yoga there doesn't seem to be a problem.
I just did a run and, looking at it on the portal, the map location displayed when inspecting a particular section of the run is incorrect.
Motoactv is at 1.7.2 N16, normal sampling rate.
The pause in the run at 10min30 should be at the intersection of kerney and filbert which is the highest point of the run. The map displays it at Filbert and Medau Pl
I've noticed the the device memory bar on the storage scene in settings is displaying the wrong information. The bar shows i have used 3/4 of my internal memory, mainly as app. However the amount shown as available on the same screen shows 9.3MB. Also in device facts (under the diagnostics menu ) it shows that i have only used 2.3GB. I think the problem comes from my use of the sd storage feature on google music. The music files are definitely saved on the sd card. The phone seems to recognise this itis just this status bar that is misreading the information. Or should i just ignore it?
I was checking the portal today and noticed that the schedule section at the top of the page displays incorrect workout info - see screenshot attached.
I am sure that I have not exercised today (it is Sunday, duh) ... yet the schedule shows that I had an exercise today (see red dot on the schedule). So I checked the device and verified that there was no exercise today on the device. And when I clicked to check details on the portal, I saw last week's exercise data.
I am using Blackberryr 9300. I bought it last month and it was working fine. From past week incorrect information is displayed on all incoming calls(Eg : for every caller it would show up the last dialled call details, sometimes it just displays few digits etc).
In the past week, my D4 has been putting incorrect time stamps on incoming text messages when using certain non-stock text messaging apps. All received texts (regardless of sender) are stamped 4 hours earlier than when they were actually sent. Makes threaded messaging a real pain.
Stock text message app is fine, as is Handcent. The problem seems to be isolated to GO SMS Pro (my preferred SMS app) and ICS Messaging (stock ICS-like). I have uninstalled both and reinstalled with no change.
I just noticed something odd when pulling down my notification bar, it states that a voicemail I received yesterday was received on 12/31/69. The date and time are correct on the device everywhere else. I've pulled the battery and rebooted to the same thing. I guess it's not a huge issue, but just curious as to what causes this. For the record:
I have the Xoom set to automatic date/time. I turn on Airplane mode (with WiFi on) to conserve battery. Runs most of the day at the office OK. I think it is OK at home as well. Plug it in to charge overnight (Xoom still on). Wake up in the morning and the time is all wrong.
I then turn Airplane mode off. The Xoom connects to 3G and sets the clock again.
Can't figure out why the clock (once automatically set to the right time), would change after a period of time.
I got my phone on 11/9/12 and within the first day our so the clock had lost a few hours. I had to switch to manual and set the clock. Then I set it back to use network for time. Well today I was late for work because when I woke up my phone said 7:10 and it really was 7:40. So had I not woken up when I did I would have been an hour late for work. The tech in Store removed my antivirus apps starting I didn't need them.
My son's Nokia X2-00 has a strange problem. If you unlock the phone or press red key in locked state, when the phone was in stand-by for some time, the clock is not correct - it shows the last hour:minute when the phone was used. After un-locking and some fiddling with the phone the clock becomes correct. The phone is not yet updated with 8.17 and is still with 4.90.
I tried various clock widgets and since upgrade to GB, the time does not update, the clock on the top status bar will have the correct time and the widget will show like 2 hours ago. If I tap the widget, it refreshes and shows the correct time, otherwise it's stuck. Anyone have a flip clock widget (ala HTC Sense clock), preferably with weather that will work with the DroidX and GB? Will the new mr6 update in mid-august fix this? Analog clocks seem to work, so my guess it's some sort of update/refresh service in GB is not working correctly.
No matter whether the clock is set by the network; or it is set manually; the time is 14-15 seconds ahead; and no. setting it manually will not fix the problem.
Is there a way to disable the motion sensor from constantly waking the phone, without losing notifications for email/texts/etc?
I have disabled all the moto actions, but the clock screen is still constantly coming up whenever the phone moves, such as when I'm walking or it is sitting on the passenger seat in my car! I can make it stop by disabling moto display, but since there's no LED to notify me when I get a text or email, I'll never know....
I'm running ICS on a Droid Bionic and the lockscreen clock is wrong. In settings, I have "automatic date & time" and "automatic time zone" selected. The Lock Screen is showing 5:15pm no matter what time it is. All other time functions seem to be correct.
I would like the watch to show the time continuously without the display getting off. I managed twice the display to show down the time but I can't recall how I did it?
Noticed last few days that the time of day seems about a minute behind what it should be.Does it ever adjusted to the actual time when you do an outdoor workout? Maybe not as did one yesterday and no difference.Got latest software 4.57.97
My iPhone 3GS is set to change time automatically with the Daylight Savings change. That worked as the phone time itself is correct, but the times for the different places in the built-in World Clock app are still off by an hour (they are on the old time). This is also true of my husband's iPhone 3G. Strangely, I have an iPod touch that adjusted both its system time and the World Clock times without difficulty.
I have tried syncing the phone, toggling on/off the update time automatically, and rebooting, but the time is still incorrect. If I try adding a new place, it will also have the wrong time.
There may also be an issue with other apps - the ESPN app had the start time of a game today off by an hour as well.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this?
Edit: To clarify, the times are wrong for US cities that do observe DST, such as New York, Chicago, etc.
I went to a different time zone last month and of course changed my clock on my Curve 8520 to that zone (6 hours ahead of my home zone EST). Of course when I returned I changed back. Since then every time I sync to my computer the zone changes to a different time (7 hours behind my zone). Also now after a sync when I click on the clock icon it shows 2 analog clocks. One large one with the new wrong time and a small one to the left showing the correct time. After I reset the time I get only one large analog clock showing the correct time until I resync again.I have checked and rechecked the settings. I have changed the date/time source setting from 'Blackberry' Network Time to 'Network' Time and this does not make any difference. I've pulled the battery. I've reset the sync maagement options. What a pain having to change the time every time I sync. I've called my service provider (rogers) and they went through the same steps I have already tried.
A few days ago I went for a run, got back, went on [url]... to see my workout... but it wasn't there. At first I thought it just didn't sync yet, manually synced it, still nothing. After playing around with it for a bit, I started reading through the forums and came across the "Class Action Lawsuit" thread where in the guys rant he says "It constantly resets the date and time so you're workout will show up as 4 months in the past ( not ideal for a training log) "
I went for a walk outside so used the great GPS mode but unfortunaley left it in my coat pocket and forgot to turn it off for 10 minutes. Is there anyway to change the time the activity took in this situation.
How time of day is updated on the Motoactv. Since it has gps I assume it can access gps time, but I can't figure out if the device's time is updated, or if one has to update it manually.
Third time in a row this evening. Went to the gym, did some workouts, came home and synced up. Couldn't find my session on the portal so checked the watch and found once again that it had changed the time and date. It definitely isn't user error and it's the 3rd time it's happened.
Suddenly, I noticed my time was off by 1 hour. I didn't touch any of the time settings that I knew of....I went into the setting screen for the clock and where it used to say Eastern Time zone now says daylight savings time. Page further into the time settings, I got to the time set page which showed the correct time was set.I backed back out to the clock screen only to see it still showing 1 hour off... I shut the watch off and restarted it... After doing so, the time was now correct..
