Is there anyway to change the picture of a contact group? I like sorting my contacts into various groups and use the feature a lot. It would be nice to give each group a different picture instead of the grey head outlines that are next to each group. When I go to Edit Group, it only lets me change the name. Is it possible to change the picture or at least turn the picture off?

I am trying to make a contact group...when I add the contact how do you select which number it uses if you have muliple numbers in it. I have contact with land lines as well as cell...I want to only send to cell

Then I say delete the picture(s from the SD card do I lose the picture assigned to the contact? Or is the picture assigned to a contact 'special' and also resized and kept somewhere else?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to change which photo is displayed for certain contacts. Right now it automatically puts facebook photos, I'm trying to change it to a different picture. I go into the contact, click edit, tell it to use an existing photo, I crop the photo how I want it, click save, it shows the new photo in the edit screen, I click save again and it defaults back to the facebook photo.

i went to at&t store to get my contacts added to my new Atrix and when i got home i could not change anything on them i went to edit and they all said "PRESET CONTACT from at&t (name of contact)! Preset contact information is not editable on this device.(Phone#)"is there any way to over ride this or what should i do?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to GB, lost all my phone numbers in my contacts, but thankfully the special app worked and I retrieved them. I want to sync with gmail, but I must of choose the wrong default option, when you add a new one, it asks you gmail or motoblur, always use this choice.
I added a contact and it looks like its a motoblur contact, when I go into accounts motoblur has a lock symbol next to it (odd).
anyhow to the questions:
1) How do I change add contacts to use gmail, now that I do not have a choice when adding new contacts.
2) Is there a qucik guide to remote wipe.
3) Someone mentioned they used motoblur to find their phone, how can I do that?
4) How often does my contacts/books etc sync with gmail, can you increase/decrease it?
When I am changing the contact picture from contacts in my Neo V 2.3.4 Ginger bread.It is just opening gallery for selecting a new picture but after selecting it's just simply showing the same old pic instead of setting the new picture

However, I cannot seem to find a way to do this with an X10. On my old Nokia, it was really easy, but having come into the modern world and finally upgraded to a smartphone, I would have thought this would have been a no-brainer!
View 8 Replies View RelatedAfter having gone a couple of months withs with Gingerbread without any problems to report I started experiencing a strange thing with incoming calls, texts, emails, etc.For incoming calls, the number displayed is the correct number but the screen pulls an incorrect name from my contacts list and displays a picture (taken from either LinkedIn or Facebook profiles) that is from a third, different contact.So the number is for Contact A and is the actual caller, the name that is displayed is contact B and the photo is contact c.If I go to make an outgoing call, the same thing in the inverse occurs.I choose Contact A and it dials contact A but displays it is calling contact B.This has caused me to have to double & triple check when I am making calls to ensure that it is calling the right contacts.
A similar thing happens for texts, incoming texts display the correct number from which they are originating but display that they are from a different contact name.When I go to send a text and enter a number it indicates that it is sending it to the correct phone number but with a different name assocaited with that number. Finally, something similar is happening in email messaging. If I hit reply, while the actual email address is correct the contact name that it lists is incorrect.
I've had my Atrix for a few days now and love it apart from the fact that I can't seem to get it to send group texts efficiently. This is a major part of my business so I really need to be able to get it to work. I currently have all of my contacts syncing between my Google account and the Atrix which is working well.
I set up a group in my google contacts which, again, synced fine. I have installed around 5 different apps from the Market which say that they will send group sms easily (including Handcent and Chompsms). The main problem I had with most of them is that they didn't use the mobile number of the contact as the primary number (even though I went through each contact and set the mobile number as primary!) so it was trying to send a text to a house phone.
I then created three separate groups on the Atrix (which is a bit of a pain as I'd like to be able to send it to all the contacts in one go) and then sent the same text to each of the groups using the standard app on the phone. This seemed to work fine for the first two groups, then I got an error when sending to the last group. saying that there were "a large number of texts being sent" and I had to press "ok" or cancel. I still wanted to send the text out, so pressed "ok" for all 30 of the contacts. It then seemed to send the text twice to some contacts which they weren't happy with!
I then left it and thought it was ok. I looked online for the "large number of texts" error as I can't have the phone sending the same text to the same contacts all the time or having to press "ok" 100 times! It seems that there is no clear answer as to why the error appears though some people are thinking it's because there is a limit on the phone of 100/sms per hour but I'm not sure if that's the case. I just need the error to go away and not ask me to press anything?!
To add to the problem, I've turned my phone on this morning and it's just sent the same text from last night to most of my contacts - some of them twice!! It was 6am here so I'm not sure any of my clients will be happy with that!
I really do love this phone but this is the one thing that should be easy to do and I've wasted so much time trying to do it. I've come from a BlackBerry which was horrible and nothing like the lovely Atrix BUT as I send numerous group texts each week, the BB can do this easily with no fuss and the Atrix is really struggling.
I'm going to give Motorola a call when they wake up and will check with my service provider that it's nothing they have set up (but the sim and contract is straight from the BB so can't think that that's a problem) and see what they can do to help but wanted to see if you guys had any ideas...
Ever since the update to 2.3.3, I am unable to add to my current groups with additional contacts. Has anyone experienced the same problem? If so, how do you add someone to a Group from the Contact List?

so I entered my Facebook account to Motoblur and it loads all my contacts to the adddress book. Not all people have their numbers/pictures on facebook so I also imported contacts to google and they appear. But this is where the problems start:
Number 1:
There is a linked contact consisting of Facebook and Google. Since the facebook account has no picture I went to Edit- > Use existing photo -> chose one -> save. It adds the picture but after I click save it is gone. I assume the problem is that I chose facebook as my primary picture source in Motoblur. But how can I add a custom picture instead?
Number 2:
I have a Google profile let's say "Josef Biden" but as he wants to keep some privacy he calls him self "Josef Doe" on facebook. But no matter if I choose "Josef Biden" and link it to "Josef Doe" or if I choose "Josef Doe" and link it to "Josef Biden", the final contact will be the facebook one "Josef Doe". Obviously that's not his name, how can I change this and make the right name win?
I have Facebook set as my picture source....but none of the pictures are coming through on my contact page or the happenings widget.I have deleted my account and re-added twice....turned off my phone and removed the battery, nothing.

But now when i changed my memory card i also formated my phone. I took backup of contacts on sim card. after installing new memory card i imported my contacts back to phone and synced facebook once again with my phone contacts. This time they got synced too but their facebook profile pics are not becoming my contact pictures. I also tried enabling facebook inside xperia but still it didn't worked. How can we change this to another filename mask, like "YYYY_MMDD_hhmmss xxx.jpg" (example: 2011_0801_091612 123.jpg) or any other format of our choosing?In addition, are there any other field masks that we can use beyond the YYY, MM and DD and time fields?

On the Cliq I never had this problem. On the Cliq2 when people update their FB default pictures, it doesn't sync and update them in my address book anymore. Motorola said it should but it doesn't. They offered me a new phone but hello this is my second Cliq2 that it hasn't worked on. Apparently it's not the phone. It's motoblur!

I am unable to send a contact detail to another mobile via SMS. Tried going trough contacts, select contact, menu, share, selecting text message. MMS gets selected automatically. After adding recipient & touching send an icon appears in the notification bar & disappears after some time. After some more time a message apears in the notification bar saying that the message was not sent.
