View 5 RepliesDoes the Icon have Restart option? Silence (Vibrate) option? If you hold down the Power button it says to slide down to Power Off. How do I restart the phone? Is there quick way to put the phone on silence (vibrate) option?

Trying to make the Jump to Windows 10. Installed Windows insider and started install.
All seemed ok phone was about 50% charge then went to spinning gear screen left phone on charger and let it do its magic over night.
Woke up this morning now phone is constantly showing spinning Gears then restarting and going back to spinning gears over and over.
Tried Lumia Recovery tool and no luck Also tried cooling phone while on charger . No luck......
I've never really used the Bluetooth on the icon before and wanted to know what the power drain would be like. I have the Denim update. A little background is that I want to use Bluetooth to connect to my car while commuting for phone calls. Do people just leave the blue tooth on all the time even when walking around? Or do you just turn it on when you get into the car
View 2 Replies View RelatedOn my icon I'm running the Developers preview. It seems when I hit the power button to wake my phone there is a slight delay. It seems to happen when i'm at home and not so much at work.
View 6 Replies View RelatedThere is a lag when trying to wake the phone up. I will press the power button and it will take almost 4 seconds for the phone to wake up. This doesn't happen often, but often enough that I have to do a soft reset several times to correct the problem. Even then, it's still not 100% responsive. I'm on the latest DP and still having this issue.
View 5 Replies View RelatedA friend of mine just switched from Android to WP and got the Icon. He loves the phone but is having an issue with the phone becoming unresponsive at times. When hitting the power button to turn on the screen it sometimes stays black and becomes unresponsive for 5-10 minutes before it will work. I think it may be a faulty proximity sensor...
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy iPhone 4S will not power off. At the Home screen I press and hold the power button for x seconds and slide the red arrow button across when the 'slide to power off' message appears. The screen goes black and after a few seconds the white spinner appears and the screen goes back again. After 3-4 seconds -without even touching the phone- the Apple logo appears, followed by the Lock screen and the phone has restarted itself.

My power button my my HTC One M7 stopped working. Unfortunately, it is currently powered off. So, even though it has a 100% charge, I can't turn it on b/c that requires that I press down the power button. Here are some of the things I've tried from what I've been able to read online:
1. Starting HTC One M7 in recovery mode: Unfortunately, in order to start an HTC One M7 in recovery mode requires holding down the down volume button + the power button. Without the power button working, this solution won't work to get me started.
2. installing adb and fastboot: I'm running Mac OS X 10.10.5 on a 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 MBP (retina, mid 2012) machine and have homebrew installed. I issued brew install android-platform-tools. I then changed my $PATH to include the downloaded adb and fastboot programs.
Once I had that set up, I tried to connect to my device through the USB cable. Unfortunately, I don't believe I had the developer mode turned on that allowed USB mounting (MTP). The phone is running Android 5.0.x. So, when I try running 'adb devices' in terminal, I get the response that there are no devices connected. I try 'adb reboot' but with no devices detected, i get, 'error: device not found.'
I tried using diskutil list to see if there were a way to detect the device as connected to the computer even if it's not mounting. But that didn't work, either.
I've just noticed that after upgrading I cannot power off my iphone, when I try to switch it off I see apple logo again...

after the latest os update, system locked-up while starting a Internet video. used the power off app to restart the hung system. now the power off app no longer appears. is this app only restored with an os update or can it be restored separately?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI lost my restart option in my power button menu, i don't know the reason...
View 4 Replies View Relatedwhen the phone restarts, the power widget is gone and some random app from my app drawer is there that might not even be located on any of my homescreens.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy iPhone 4 has turned off, which seems to be a common problem. Everything I can find says to hold the power/lock screen button + the home button together, along with a combination of plugging it into the computer/ wall, etc. Unfortunately my power button stopped working ages ago (another common problem it seems), so that method of restarting my phone is out. Aside from the power button issue the phone is in pristine condition, the LCI's are normal, no scratches or cracks. I'm not in a place where I can easily obtain another phone and need it for work purposes,

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an iPhone 5c which is updated to IOS 7.1.1. I regularly use FaceTime and never had a problem. Today I restarted my iPhone as FaceTime Audio call was not connecting, as I normally do in such issue. When the iPhone got restarted the FaceTime App on my iPhone disappeared. I tried searching from the Spotlight it does not show. Even tried to go to Contact to connect call from there but I do not have option to make FaceTime call in contacts as well.
View 14 Replies View RelatedWhenever I power off or restart my HTC One M9 on Lollipop 5.0.2 the screen icons reset to an earlier state. It's almost like something has stored the phone state and is restoring that state every time the phone is started or restarted.
It also changes in the icon groups on the apps screen. For example I have 4 BBC apps and I place them all in a group called "BBC". On restart the 4 BBC apps are no longer in a group and the group doesn't exist.
After a software check using the update service, i restarted the device and the settings icon ( to access all device configuration , wireless settings etc..) was missing. Any known solution to restore it without a full reinstall ? I am on android 2.1.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my Lumia 1020 since the 12th but I didn't get to open it and activate until the 18th since I was out of town. So far the only major problem that I have had is the phone randomly powering down. When it does this, 30% of the time it attempts to restart and it fails. (AT&T logo and then nothing) The rest of the time the phone does not respond to me pressing the power button alone, and I have to do both volume keys with the power button or plug in the charging cable at the same time to get any kind of activity.
I had this sort of issue with my 920 before, but not quite as frequently as I have had with the 1020. (Considering my time of ownership) Is this an OS-specific issue or does this seem like hardware? I would prefer to be better informed on this and know what the best course of action is before I go nuclear by contacting AT&T. I'm sure I would get a "new" Lumia 1020 but knowing my luck I would get a certified like-new device that has a cosmetic flaw or another issue not present in my current phone.
I just don't see the point of seeing that I am using power savings once it's already turned on. It's not like I am turning it on and off. Also the new 2 finger slide down is quick enough if I need more info.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI posted a description of a problem I'm having on another BlackBerry forum, and although several suggestions have been offered, no solution has been achieved. Thought I'd try the CrackBerry community to see if I can get the problem solved. After installing updated BlackBerry desktop and device software yesterday, the arrangement of icons on my screen had changed, so I was moving them around to be in the desired locations. In the process of moving the Turn Power Off icon, it simply disappeared instead of showing up in the new location. A responder suggested that it might be hidden and to try Show All. I had no Show All option - just Move, Hide, Add Folder, and Switch Application. Another suggestion was that I might have moved the missing icon to a folder. I have three subordinate folders, and it's not in any of them. It's also no longer on the main "desktop". The next responder said to try a battery pull. That had no effect, and the icon was still missing. The next suggestion was interesting - switch to a different theme, see if the Turn Power Off icon is there, and then switch back to the original theme. I've been using the Verizon theme, so following the suggestion I switched to the BB Dimension Icon theme.
Guess what - a Turn Power Off icon showed up, along with the other icons that were completely scrambled compared to the way I had organized them with the Verizon theme (and there were no subordinate folders). I clicked the icon to power down and then powered up again. The BB Dimension Icon theme was still active, and a Turn Power Off icon was still present. Next I switched back to the Verizon theme. There was no Turn Power Off icon to be found anywhere. I am ready for another suggestion. Can a theme become corrupted? If so, is there a way to refresh it?
