doesn't go back on unless i press POWER button on the back of phone..happens immediately after dialing the number. So frustrating.
i tried going to settings and change the screen timeouts, displays, etc. and i changed it all to 2 minutes.
It's my 3rd time of this problem 1 time I took assistance of nokia care center but but they couldn't permanently solve it 2nd time I tried Google the problem and it says to restart if nothing happens restore it, this worked that time, but now the device doesn't responding any of this.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've seen three or four times where my L950 appears to be shut down. As in the screen is off and pushing the power button does seem to do anything. Eventually I hold down the power button for a while (more than 4 seconds, maybe 10 seconds) and the phone eventually plays a tone and reboots(?) itself.
View 10 Replies View RelatedNever had problems with Nokia in the past, and after happily purchasing a Nokia X6-00 16GB in the month of March of this year, my thoughts on Nokia only reinforced WHY i've always gone with Nokia.
Now, i purchased the phone when i was living in England, i moved back to Cyprus in April shortly after the purchase and got the phone unlocked, put in a Cypriot Sim card with CytaMobile. Everything was just great.
This past month as been slightly less of a joy though, out of no fault of my own, the phone seems to stop recieving and making calls, all calls get diverted to my answer phone, and to solve this problem i have had to turn the phone off, then back on again. Problem solved.
That was until this morning. I can still recieve texts but if someone attempts to call me, they are greeted with a 'beep' and then the phone call ends on their end.
For me i am greeted with deadly silence, then a little notification saying 'No Answer'.
I have restarted the phone;
Restored Factory Settings'
Upgraded to the latest firmware it will let me, being v20;
Still no luck, i am hoping it is not an internal problem with the phone, as in Cyprus as far as 'Offical' nokia care points are non-existant. The SIM card is on a contract, so if my phone had been cut off, so would my messaging and my internet which are all still in-use, and work just fine without problems.
On another note, if you are unable to find a cause for that problem, maybe you can give me a quick reasoning on why the phone shuts itself off when i choose the facebook application on occasions. Again only over the past month has this been happening.
I have a bb torch 9800, when I make or receive calls my backlight turns off and my screen is blank until I end call, I cannot even use call waiting, speakerphone, etc b'cuz of this issue.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIs it possible for my screen to NOT close when I am on a call? It makes doing anything involving the keypad, looking up numbers or messaes or anything else impossible because I keep having to power the screen back on etc.
Also I very religiously clean out my cache, data when it isn't going to delete important info. etc. Haven't added that many new apps. Have moved EVERYTHING I can to the SD card. Yet, my phone memory keeps going down. Is there a way to slow this? My phone that used to have tons of memory on it is now down to 30%. Tips? I know apps etc take up memory, as does there data etc. It just seems to be dropping more than it should.
I have just noticed that when I start to make a call on my 701 the screen goes blank when it starts to dial so you don't no if its dialling or shut down especially if it wait a long time to connect and you have no dialling tone. I have the screen up with the red and green squares but as soon as you dial it goes blank.

It shows up in the top right hand corner of the screen and looks like the service signal bar graph only reversed w/ the larger bars on the left and getting smaller moving right. I was asleep on 4 of these occasions and was definately not using my phone on the others. I have never called a south korean number. I have and have since I got the phone barred outgoing international calls in the settings menu but my phone still makes these calls.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI own a blackberry pearl 8130 and recently saw a new icon appear at the top right hand side of my screen. When placing calls, the icon appears. It looks like a rectangle with a line of plus signs going through it diagonally from top left to lower right. That breaks the rectangle up into 2 triangles. One of them is dark blue and the other is black. Has anyone seen this before?The only thing that I have noticed since the icon began to appear is that my alarm no longer works. The volume works for everything else and I can set my alarm. It just never makes a sound when it's supposed to go off. I've already checked to make sure that I've marked AM or PM and I checked to see if it is on tone, so that's not the problem.

It would need to be a function to switch on and off, as you may need to use the screen to turn hands free on etc.

The one thing I installed today was a program called GPS Track (http://widgety.biz/GPStrack/) for collecting the GPS info and uploading it to TrailGuru.com. The problem started shortly after I used the program the first time, so I suspect it has something to do with it.I deleted the application, but that didn't help. I've tried a battery pull several times, I downgraded the OS from 5.0.0.463 to 5.0.0.296. Nothing seems to help. Right now I'm upgrading the software to 5.0.0.645, but I don't have great hope. Anyone have an idea?

I am having a lot of problems trying to get my blackberry to function properly. Yesterday, I was going for a walk and decided to plug in my headphones into my blackberry and listen to some music. It worked really well until I pulled the headphone jack out and now when I make a phone call, the phone switches from headset to handset over and over again. I have tried resetting it, pulling the battery, etc. but nothing has worked. How can I get this to work properly?
View 10 Replies View RelatedThe main reason i bought the phone.Was because of a virtually non existent signal on the Orange network.(dropping calls etc).Anyway. To cut a long story short.It will find UMA.But takes an age to lock on.And sometimes when making /receiving calls i get cut off and my router crashes (loses internet connection)!If i go into my wifi settings in my phone (wifi diagnostics). Under UMA it says 'UMA connection failed'.But no 'error' code!!
I have checked my router setings and everything seems ok as it does on my phone.
But this morning i contacted AOL router support and they told me that it will not be the router but an issue with the phone!
While i am typing this.It has just found UMA (after approx 1 hour of trying) but if i make a call or receive one , i will more than likely be cut off.I forgot to mention that i have a 'speedtouch'(thompson) router. And am thinking of asking AOL for a 'Netgear'!Would this help?Although my laptop and xbox 360 run just fine via the speedtouch with no problems whatsoever
The issue here is that whenever you go to make a call The phone automatically blacks out the screen. I can't see how to disable this. But if the phone is blacked out and you are on another call, when a second call beeps in it won't allow the screen to come on to switch calls.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've updated my IOS to 5.1 on my iPhone 4 and I'm getting a repeated issue where the screen will randomly go black very quickly as if it's gone to sleep. It happens predominantly whilst using the camera but on occassion whilst using various apps. I've tried touching the screen to 'wake' it but that doesn't work and I can only reactivate the phone by pressing the home button which brings the phone back to the homescreen.The camera also takes a long time to wake. Often it will open and display the closed apperture image for a good few seconds.Is it worth my while downgrading to IOS 5.0 and waiting for a bug fix?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm posting this on behalf of a friend who has asked me to take a look at their E6-00 which has a problem that when a call is received the screen blacks out instantly and therefore she can't see the caller display.
I've read elsewhere that it is an issue with the proximity sensor on the front of the device but nowhere states if there is a definitive fix for the problem.
This did not happen prior to the phone being upgraded to Anna. I have since upgraded it again to Belle in the hope that this will remedy the issue but it's still happening.
if their are any OTA updates or downloads that will sort this out or is it just a "live with it" firmware flaw?
A quite simple complaint - for Symbian S60 v3 - The screen completely BLACKS out after X seconds (configurable up to 90 seconds) no matter what settings you use. (Latest firmware.) I can't find a power-saver disable anywhere in the options. I want to be able to use a permanent screen saver display, such as a greyed-out clock on low power display, or the status + time blue and white stripe. This is fine on my older N76 and many other models. Why has this feature been excluded?
