The issue here is that whenever you go to make a call The phone automatically blacks out the screen. I can't see how to disable this. But if the phone is blacked out and you are on another call, when a second call beeps in it won't allow the screen to come on to switch calls.
I am on my 4th B.B. Torch 9810. At odd times when the keyboard is extended and I am typing an email or text msg. The screen will black out and bounce me out to the main screen. This has happened on every Torch I have received since January of this year.
I've updated my IOS to 5.1 on my iPhone 4 and I'm getting a repeated issue where the screen will randomly go black very quickly as if it's gone to sleep. It happens predominantly whilst using the camera but on occassion whilst using various apps. I've tried touching the screen to 'wake' it but that doesn't work and I can only reactivate the phone by pressing the home button which brings the phone back to the homescreen. The camera also takes a long time to wake. Often it will open and display the closed apperture image for a good few seconds. Is it worth my while downgrading to IOS 5.0 and waiting for a bug fix?
When i try to open the list of installed apps in the settings menu my screen turns black and i´m back in the programmmanager.whats wrong? i´m using the "best taskman". can that be the reason?
I've seen three or four times where my L950 appears to be shut down. As in the screen is off and pushing the power button does seem to do anything. Eventually I hold down the power button for a while (more than 4 seconds, maybe 10 seconds) and the phone eventually plays a tone and reboots(?) itself.
I'm posting this on behalf of a friend who has asked me to take a look at their E6-00 which has a problem that when a call is received the screen blacks out instantly and therefore she can't see the caller display.
I've read elsewhere that it is an issue with the proximity sensor on the front of the device but nowhere states if there is a definitive fix for the problem.
This did not happen prior to the phone being upgraded to Anna. I have since upgraded it again to Belle in the hope that this will remedy the issue but it's still happening.
if their are any OTA updates or downloads that will sort this out or is it just a "live with it" firmware flaw?
A quite simple complaint - for Symbian S60 v3 - The screen completely BLACKS out after X seconds (configurable up to 90 seconds) no matter what settings you use. (Latest firmware.) I can't find a power-saver disable anywhere in the options. I want to be able to use a permanent screen saver display, such as a greyed-out clock on low power display, or the status + time blue and white stripe. This is fine on my older N76 and many other models. Why has this feature been excluded?
My curve 8520(23BCFD52) has a wired problem. When I am using my phone, al of a sudden my screen black(dead) for few seconds , all keys are working at that time. after a few seconds my screen comes back. my phone also hangs all of a sudden.all this started to happen after I loaded my memory card.

Installed version 3.03 when it first came out onto my new X6, been working fine for just over a week until this evening. Now whenever I open Ovi Maps it works for a few seconds before it freezes, then completely blacks out and finally turns off and restarts my phone! Is anyone else having this problem?I've already uninstalled and reinstalled Ovi Maps which failed to help and have just now completely backed up my phone and reinstalled the device software with no change at all.

I have a problem with my 4s camera. I blacks out and I have to power off the phone to resetHere is my Verizon experince today:I have never been so rudely treated as today when I went into your Ft Oglethorpe GA office.JOSH did not know as much as I did about a 4s! As soon as he saw my screen had a small crack all bets were off! I tried to explain to him that I did not want a new phone, I believe my camera issue is caused by a software problem. Explained that the camera would stop working and phone had to bepowered offf to reset the camera. Told me nothing he could do Apple would not honor my warranty because my screen is cracked. This is AFTER he told me he had seen phones with this issue take longer than just powering off to recover! In front of all the customers he got nasty and said "ma'm do you know ANYONE WHO WOULD HONOR THE WARRANTY ON A CRACKED ITEM!!I was so embrassed! He did nothing to check out my software or reset anything! He acted as though I only came in to get a new phone!I pay monthly for "phone insurance" I could have gotten a new phone when I first cracked the screen but the crack is so minor I did not bother.
I took my phone left this location, called *611 and the tech was very gracious! Told me if powering the phone off and on fixed the camera it was software and not hardware issue. He is will call me back in a bit, because I was driving at the time.I have been with your company for years because of the customer service but now I when my contract is fulfilled I will look into other possibilities if JOSH is the new face of Verizon customer service
Is it possible for my screen to NOT close when I am on a call? It makes doing anything involving the keypad, looking up numbers or messaes or anything else impossible because I keep having to power the screen back on etc.
Also I very religiously clean out my cache, data when it isn't going to delete important info. etc. Haven't added that many new apps. Have moved EVERYTHING I can to the SD card. Yet, my phone memory keeps going down. Is there a way to slow this? My phone that used to have tons of memory on it is now down to 30%. Tips? I know apps etc take up memory, as does there data etc. It just seems to be dropping more than it should.
My screen keeps scrolling down automatically when a bright light hits the screen. Make it hard to use outside. Trying to make a phone call, read text, email, or even just scrolling through apps is very difficult because the screen scrolls down to the very bottom very quickly. When I scoll back up, it scrolls right back to the bottom. When I'm not outside or a bright glare is not on the screen it works great.
My Photon automatically defaults to the dial screen when I press the call button from the home screen. It used to display the last tab used or recent calls if I had missed one. I have scanned through all of the options and can't seem to find an option to change this.
The screen of my Blackberry Torch will not automatically turn off. It stays on all the time unless I press the lock button. I have the backlight brightness on the lowest setting and the 20 second time out.
Not that these matter, but I've also recently done the new Operating System update and have downloaded the applications AT&T 's Mark The Spot and Blackberry Maps. I do know they are why I've been losing battery power.
Is there any way to prevent the screen from automatically dimming ? When checking email or waiting for a connection , I have to keep pressing the button to keep the screen active. I have the latest available update installed
When I tap on the screen no matter where I am on the screen it scrolls automatically back up to the top it does it in every menu I'm in is it me or is it the phone?
I have face a new problem now with my Sony Xperia z2... The screen color is changing automatically... When I take a screenshot or click a picture from my camera..wwhen you view the picture later on the picture is normal for 3 seconds..then the blue color in pictures becomes brighter n the other colors faint.
I have xperia z2, updated with software build number 17.1.2.A.0.314.My screen doesnt lock autimatically ... I have to always lock it manually by pressing power button. In settings i set display-> sleep -> 15 seconds. And security -> automatically lock -> immediately after sleep.
My nexus 5 running on marshmallow automatically shuts off its screen and no matter how much i press my power button screen doesn't turn on but all functions r working ( i mean i can attend calls by sliding blindly) at last i have to reboot my device by approximation....
My screen automatically turn on even after I lock it my battery is draining fast because it wont go black unless I lock it again then after a few seconds it will turn on again even if I didn't touch it! My screen time out is in 30 seconds mode.
Recently, i am observing problem with my Photon 4G. Screen turns on automatically and then turns off also !! However, this is observed frequently and thus unnecessarily eating battery.

I am placing a call, while it rings, the screen dims to black, and the touch screen and all keys do not wqork anymore. This happens for a couple of weeks, and then suddently for a few times it is ok.So, I cannot see who am I spe3aking to, who am I calling, and more important, cannot access my contacts, calnedar , conf call and so on during call. The end call does work.
My screen turns ON automatically when sitting on counter/table (not touched) every 10-30 seconds continuously. Even if I have the screen lock on or the phone completely locked, the home screen keeps popping up. When I attempt the screen lock alone, within a minute the screen turns on and unlocks automatically without touching the phone. It's killing the battery.
