I have a bb torch 9800, when I make or receive calls my backlight turns off and my screen is blank until I end call, I cannot even use call waiting, speakerphone, etc b'cuz of this issue.

i tried going to settings and change the screen timeouts, displays, etc. and i changed it all to 2 minutes.
I have just noticed that when I start to make a call on my 701 the screen goes blank when it starts to dial so you don't no if its dialling or shut down especially if it wait a long time to connect and you have no dialling tone. I have the screen up with the red and green squares but as soon as you dial it goes blank.

Its completely turn dark and i have to wait until the other party hang off the phone.Specially when i mistakenly make a call i have no control on phone to cancel it because of automatically screen lock and same problem when making a call and converts into voice mail.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am starting to get really annoyed with my phone, when I make voice calls I'm not able to lock the screen so that the touch screen is disabled?? and in doing so I either end up putting the call on mute, hold or even hang up!I have tried all I can think of, I have just updated my phone to the latest software 5 days ago and seemed ok for 2/3 days but now the darn bug is back. View 6 Replies View RelatedDoes anybody know if the touch screen on the ES400 can activated/deactivated whilst making calls?The problem is, that as the hangup or mute are availabe functions for use, when you are on a call and have the device pressed against your ear/cheek you can either put the phone on mute, or even cut the caller off completely. It would need to be a function to switch on and off, as you may need to use the screen to turn hands free on etc.

View 7 Replies View RelatedNever had problems with Nokia in the past, and after happily purchasing a Nokia X6-00 16GB in the month of March of this year, my thoughts on Nokia only reinforced WHY i've always gone with Nokia.
Now, i purchased the phone when i was living in England, i moved back to Cyprus in April shortly after the purchase and got the phone unlocked, put in a Cypriot Sim card with CytaMobile. Everything was just great.
This past month as been slightly less of a joy though, out of no fault of my own, the phone seems to stop recieving and making calls, all calls get diverted to my answer phone, and to solve this problem i have had to turn the phone off, then back on again. Problem solved.
That was until this morning. I can still recieve texts but if someone attempts to call me, they are greeted with a 'beep' and then the phone call ends on their end.
For me i am greeted with deadly silence, then a little notification saying 'No Answer'.
I have restarted the phone;
Restored Factory Settings'
Upgraded to the latest firmware it will let me, being v20;
Still no luck, i am hoping it is not an internal problem with the phone, as in Cyprus as far as 'Offical' nokia care points are non-existant. The SIM card is on a contract, so if my phone had been cut off, so would my messaging and my internet which are all still in-use, and work just fine without problems.
On another note, if you are unable to find a cause for that problem, maybe you can give me a quick reasoning on why the phone shuts itself off when i choose the facebook application on occasions. Again only over the past month has this been happening.
All of a sudden I cannot hear anything when making calls and I cannot hear anything when answering calls?? It rings both ways but when I answer I don't hear the other party and they cannot hear me. When i call someone I don't hear it ringing even though it say calling, then connected.

Even if I have the screen lock on or the phone completely locked, the home screen keeps popping up. When I attempt the screen lock alone, within a minute the screen turns on and unlocks automatically without touching the phone. It's killing the battery.
