BB Pearl 8100 :: Unknown Indicator When Making Phone Calls
May 20, 2010
I own a blackberry pearl 8130 and recently saw a new icon appear at the top right hand side of my screen. When placing calls, the icon appears. It looks like a rectangle with a line of plus signs going through it diagonally from top left to lower right. That breaks the rectangle up into 2 triangles. One of them is dark blue and the other is black. Has anyone seen this before?The only thing that I have noticed since the icon began to appear is that my alarm no longer works. The volume works for everything else and I can set my alarm. It just never makes a sound when it's supposed to go off. I've already checked to make sure that I've marked AM or PM and I checked to see if it is on tone, so that's not the problem.
Got a pearl 8100 here. It just stopped making calls. It rarely does, and if it does, it will drop during the call.I loaded the latest OS on it still the same problem. Tried SIM card in another phone in the same spot and it works. The pearl does get full signal and EDGE. Could this be a hardware problem? The antenna, maybe?
Basically, i found a BlackBerry Pearl 8100 O2 on the street yesterday. I know this might upset some people, but im going to keep it. Because i need a new phone! Now how should i go on about this? will it work with just inserting my SIM ?
Can anyone tell me if the Blackberry Desktop 6.0 properly supports synchronization between Outlook 2010 32-bit and a Pearl 8100 with device software v4.5.0.102 (Platform 2.7.0.85)?I first did a one-way sync from Outlook to my device (replacing all device data). That worked fine. However, using Calendar as an example, the next sync tried to delete all calendar entries from some point in 2009 and prior. It also identified changes to entries that were not changed at all!Sync'ing Task, Memos and Contacts yielded the same problem where items were identified as being changed when they were not.When trying different sequences of synchronization including doing a reset on my Pearl before resync'ing, I get different and inconsistent results.The Blackberry site says I have the latest version of device software, so...
I own a pearl 8100 which has worked great until recently. I have not been able to make or recieve any calls, or send and recieve any texts. The only thing i have to go on is a flashing blue arrow on the top right hand corner. It usually doesnt come on until i try to make a call which always results in a call fail. Not sure if this is relevant or not, but the phone is unlocked. It was originally from T-mobile, and its currently on ATT's network.Things I've tried. -Hard reset -Memory reset -Turning off the radio signal and back on -firmware is up to date I'm not sure what information is necessary to solve the problem, but if you need to know anything just lemme know.
My 8220 was working fine and the next morning I didn't have any email which was odd. I called Pioneer, my carrier out of Kingfisher, Ok, and they didn't get back with me. By the end of that day, I hadn't received any calls, which was odd. I was able to text and call out. I took it into a service center the next morning and it didn't work when they called my number so the tech popped the battery out and put it back in and it was totally dead. When we tried to turn it on, only the red light would flash and nothing else. It was sent into my carrier and they tell me they can't fix it, don't know what is wrong. Any ideas because I'm not really happy that my $300 plus phone didn't last 6 months! I had dropped it once when it was about 2 months old but it never had a problem afterward.
I have a Pearl 8100. Something happened that all my Contacts are no longer in my address book, but show up when someone calls on the caller ID. So I cant get anyones number out of my phone unless they call me.
I really new help with my blackberry perl 8100 series!! My phone is through cingular and my serves is through t-mobile. So I am all new to this whole adding and updating thing ect...yes this is also my first time owning a blck berry phone!
How do i transfer messages (such as a text conversation that i have had) from my phone to my computer (So that i can store it on my computer as well as view the texts later on my computer)?
How do I update my software directly on my phone? I have version 4.3 and I am finding that it is not updated enough for many applications. I have gone to Blackberry.com on my phone and followed the prompts to update directly on my phone. However, it tells me to go to "Options", "Advanced Options" and then "Wireless Upgrade." I don't have the "Wireless Upgrade." What do I do?
I have 50 or so saved text messages on my phone that I suddenly need to get printed out to give to a conflict resolution specialist in 14 hours- who knew this would happen?I can't seem to find a way to do this other than to individually send them to my email- one at a time.There's no way I have the time or the sanity to do it this way and I'm thinking that there MUST be a faster, easier way to do this.Any suggestions?
Pearl Flip 8230 on Bell Mobility v4.6.1.182 (Platform 3.3.0.64) Forgive me if I'm omitting any other needed information.Every so often the voice dialing app will come on by itself, prompting me to say a command. (On a side note, it never actually accepts any of my commands ever. But that's not my issue right now.)Even after I close it, a few seconds later it will pop up again on its own.I thought maybe it was a stuck side key, but I disabled it, assigning it to nothing.The phone becomes muted as a result of the above. I cannot hear the DTMF beeps when dialing, I cannot hear the ringing, I cannot hear the other person, and the other person cannot hear me.Needless to say this has made using my phone pretty much impossible.
I just got my hands on an old Blackberry 8100 (OS4.2.1.96)Sadly, I'm almost certain that this phone won't be able to run 5, but while I was in high school this was my favorite phone and I recently just received one..for free. The phone's trackball doesnt work(clicking the trackball scrolls up), and the volume up doesn't work either. I'm not really going to use the phone as cellular device, but I would rather just have it on my desk as a souvenir...in working condition as a backup.So I've decided to buy a new housing for it, probably fixing the trackball problem, and then this is where I'm not sure. Would the new housing fix the volume bar problem also? Or would I have to actual replace parts on the phone?
I am having a problem to upgrade the device software of my daughter Pearl 8100 from v4.2 to 4.5. The BB update web site does not recognize that is a new version of the device software available.
I have a yellow phone icon with an arrow pointing right on my homescreen. The icon does not appear as a notification. I would like to get rid of this. This is my homescreen, the icon is in the top-left corner
Never had problems with Nokia in the past, and after happily purchasing a Nokia X6-00 16GB in the month of March of this year, my thoughts on Nokia only reinforced WHY i've always gone with Nokia.
Now, i purchased the phone when i was living in England, i moved back to Cyprus in April shortly after the purchase and got the phone unlocked, put in a Cypriot Sim card with CytaMobile. Everything was just great.
This past month as been slightly less of a joy though, out of no fault of my own, the phone seems to stop recieving and making calls, all calls get diverted to my answer phone, and to solve this problem i have had to turn the phone off, then back on again. Problem solved.
That was until this morning. I can still recieve texts but if someone attempts to call me, they are greeted with a 'beep' and then the phone call ends on their end.
For me i am greeted with deadly silence, then a little notification saying 'No Answer'.
I have restarted the phone;
Restored Factory Settings'
Upgraded to the latest firmware it will let me, being v20;
Still no luck, i am hoping it is not an internal problem with the phone, as in Cyprus as far as 'Offical' nokia care points are non-existant. The SIM card is on a contract, so if my phone had been cut off, so would my messaging and my internet which are all still in-use, and work just fine without problems.
On another note, if you are unable to find a cause for that problem, maybe you can give me a quick reasoning on why the phone shuts itself off when i choose the facebook application on occasions. Again only over the past month has this been happening.
My E7 phone is not making any calls. I receive sms and calls but cannot dial, it just disconnects. I tried changing the profile, all settings and still the same issue. I tried my sim card on another phone and it is working there.
I recently noticed a new icon on my phone that only shows up when making calls. It shows up in the top right hand corner of the screen and looks like the service signal bar graph only reversed w/ the larger bars on the left and getting smaller moving right. They also have a white plus sign at the top of each blue bar, background is a black box. Anybody have any idea what this is for and why it only recently came about?
On 7 seperate occaisons my phone has dialled South Korea without my knowledge or input. I was asleep on 4 of these occasions and was definately not using my phone on the others. I have never called a south korean number. I have and have since I got the phone barred outgoing international calls in the settings menu but my phone still makes these calls.
Occasionally when I attempt to make a phone call from either a contact, missed call, or the keypad the screen will flash like its attempting to call but it just goes straight back to whatever screen I had up. It doesn't even say call ended or call lost. Sometimes I have to click call 3-4 times before it goes through.I just cleared my cache and will see if it continues?
Hi all, I'm new here and just got the pearl 8110. Maybe a very stupid question, but on my main screen I have an icon that tells me that I have a new message (sms). But I have no idea how to open it. If I go in the menu i see nothing like 'inbox or messages', really strange. Can anyone explain it to me pls?
I read on one of the help things that I can add German as an Input language for my Pearl 8130 using the application loader, but I can't figure out how to do that in Desktop Manager. I'm using Windows Vista.I type text messages and emails in different languages, but the only three of them that came with the phone were English, French, and Spanish. It rejects the spelling of my German words in emails and facebook posts, etc. I don't want to have to add every German word I know manually.I also would like to be able to use the SureType feature in German, but I can't figure out how to add it.
How do I upgrade my pearl 8100 to os5 so that I can install the whatsapp application. I would to commuincate with other smartphone but when I get the link it is telling me that my os 4.5 is old and I need to get the lastest 4.6 and above to use that feature.
My Blackberry 8100 won't download mms. It will receive it but won't come through completely. I thought it was a signal problem but even with full bars it won't work. I was wondering if there's any way to fix this and also I have the latest software. Ever since I updated it it will not download mms.
I have this BB Pearl 8100 given to me by my cousin.. All this while it was okay until recently something wrong with the scroll ball.. I can scroll down, but I can't scroll up back.
I tried to make a factory reset. I formatted memory card, removed it, made factory restart again, nothing helps. My Nokia just dies when I try to make a call or even when I try to receive it.
