This has been an option on all my past Android phones, but my screen does not wake up when I receive a text. The notification sound and LED goes off, but that's it. Am I missing something?
View 3 RepliesMy screen turns on to the lock screen every time I receive a text (or mms) and it is driving me nuts! I would like to just hear the sound and see the LED light up. I am using Light Flow to control the LED colors and have looked at every option to disable the screen waking up to no avail (side note: is there a better app for LED color control?).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a little problem, if we can consider this a problem. When i receave a SMS from a friend X, my Blackberry lag (the screen doesn't change, for like 0.5 sec). But when I receave a SMS from let's say Y, it can take up to 5 to 10 seconds before the screen move or I can move with the track pad to see the message. It's annoying.
So here is what I think, Is this because.. :
- I have over 35 000 SMS in the DB ?
- I have like 100 SMS from X and 5000 from Y ?
- My phone is on the vibrator but for Y he has a music ?
- Is this OS 5 ? But he is faster then OS 4 and I updated a while ago ?

So I can receive texts from everyone in my contacts and who I normally text, but this one girl in my contacts has been telling me she receives my texts but then complains when I dont answer her, but I have not been receiving these texts. So I am curious as to what could be the problem with my Iphone 4? Ive updated it to 5.1 today to see if that was the problem but we are still having issues, and I also checked that she is also using verizon.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIt's hard to have to constantly push the on/off button to wake the screen for notifications. Vibrate and a green blinking light aren't enough.
I want to be able to SEE notifications as they come in, so I know if I need to pick up the phone or not. I suspect the answer is download yet another app.
I got my GS5 last week, and I'm loving it, but it have one issue that bugging me. This issue don't happen often (only 3 times since I've got it), when I put my phone to sleep, and wake it back on, the two soft buttons on the bottom of the screen (back and multi-tasking button) lit up, but the screen does not, I have to force to take out the battery and put it back in, turn the phone back on then it would work.
I did called the store i got it from, but they don't have any more s5 in stock , and Samsung won't replace mine (what kind of customer service is this?), the store I got it from said they have to see the issue with their own eyes to be able to exchange me a new one, IF there will be any new S5 coming in for the next week or so.
my screen won't lit up upon waking the phone but the 2 buttons on the bottom of the screen lit up normally.
I wanted to know if there are other methods of waking up screen by not using the power button. I'm afraid that it would damage the power button due to constant pressing. It would be great I think to use the camera button since it is not being used since I just tap the screen to take photos.

I did not have this since like last week. Sometimes the phone would reboot itself and now it's going to dark screen and I can't wake it.
I've found several times that my phone would wake in the middle of the night, which is rather annoying. I turned off notifications for any app that seemed to wake the phone, and I usually put the phone in "Do Not Disturb" mode at night. Now, the only thing that wakes it is when the battery becomes fully charged. How to stop the phone from doing this? I use the phone as my clock/alarm, so I don't want to turn the phone off. Since many people probably charge their phones next to their beds at night, this seems like a particularly dumb feature.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the razr maxx and when I have my phone on speaker phone and it go to sleep there is no way to wake it up except pushing the power button. But if I have push the power button to end call turned on it hang up on my call. i think it a bug with ics.
I called my bother and see if his does it to and it does.
My phone randomly wakes to the lock screen without me pushing anything. I have been nothing but frustrated since I got ICS. I have done everything including a factory data reset.

But hitting the power button doesn't wake it either and volume during call doesn't work. I can't hang up or anything until the call disconnects.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I'm connected via Bluetooth and skip a song with the steering wheel controls it wakes the screen which causes increased battery drain. On Pandora the screen stays off to conserve battery. To me it doesn't make sense for the screen to come on when switching songs. As stated it increases battery consumption and you shouldn't be looking at your phone when driving anyway. I don't know if the same can be said with Bluetooth headphones as I don't have any to test with. People switch songs until they find one they like. If they like a song and don't know the artist then they could wake the screen to see the information at that point. To me this is a HUGE negative as phone manufacturers are making phones thinner and thinner thus reducing battery size. Not to mention upon switching songs it increases the chance of accidentally skipping another song since the controls come on the wake screen. I've tested this on wired headphones with controls and the screen doesn't wake so it only seems to be a Bluetooth issue.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy triumph seems to go into low power or "sleep"mode (Black screen) and can't be woken with the side power button. The battery life doesn't seems to be the issue because it will happen when the battery is at half charge or full charge. This seems to be occurring when it has not been used in awhile (~30 minutes). The only way to use my phone again is to remove battery and reinsert. Most of the time this occurs the red light is still on and blinking, but once there was no light at all with 3/4 batter life remaining. This is my second Triumph after having a bad ear speaker in the first one. Anyone else having this issue or have any suggestions on how to fix this. I've read the posts and I am curious if it has anything to do with WIFI being on since WIFI is on all the time when I am home.

It's like it thinks I have it up to my ear, but I don't. So I can't hang up, I can't use the dial pad, I can't see alerts, nothing.
I have been having this bro;em yesterday and also today when i woke up. My Verizon iPhone 4S touch screen is un responsive sometimes then it workes other times. My Sleep/WAke button also doesnt work. My phone thinks that my sleep button is always being pushed so if my touch sreen is working i can do anything becuase my phone puts it self to sleep when i unlock it. I was on IOS 5.0.1 and then updated to IOS 5.1.1 thinking that this would help me but i didnt.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am seeing this issue increasing on daily basis. My phone is usually in my pocked (not in doze) or some times lying around on the desk (dozed/not dozed, but still notification should deliver late). But I have noticed that in both situations, I don't receive any notification until I actually turn on the screen.
As soon as I turn the screen on, notifications start to come in all together.. (around 4-5 notification comes together). It seems that they were pending to be delivered but were never delivered to the device until I woke it up and data connection restored.
I understand that in doze mode, notifications are delayed but are delivered, but in my situation they are not even delivered until I turn on the screen and wait a couple to 5 seconds.
- I am on Stock Android without anykind of root (systemless or regular).
- I don't have any kind of advanced battery saving mode on or app installed (greenify or clean master etc).
- I don't have battery optimization for whatsapp still no notification comes in
- I see it on both Wifi and LTE..
- Cellular notifications like sms, mms or calls are not affected with this issue, they come on time.
